Greatest Streamer System-Chapter 494 - – D-1
Social media and the internet was filled with news about Streamer Wars.
Even those who weren't interested to begin with talked about the subject. Many streamers started their livestream to make a bet with their viewers regarding who would win the awards.
Not only them, but the streamers who got nominated couldn't help but get excited. Tonight, there was a gathering in the Streamer Wars Lobby. Every nominee was invited without any exception.
Because the gathering was held in the VR World, everyone could join without any problem. And there was no restriction to livestream it.
Meaning, it would be chaos tonight.
"Hahaha! My best friend, are you surprised? That I have been invited to host this year's Streamer Wars?"
Currently, Max was on call with Flexy. The orange-haired streamer laughed at him, clearly enjoying himself.
"You are going to be the Master of Ceremony?" He exclaimed in surprise, "Will it be fine? I mean, there is no way the organizing committee would let you handle such an important task!"
"You're not being nice, man! You know, I'm more responsible than you!" Flexy replied in exasperation, "Anyway, I will join tonight's meeting since I'm the Master of Ceremony! You guys can't come without me! So, don't go anywhere! Stay put until I arrive!"
"Okay, okay. See you, then." Max said and hung up. He put his phone away, "It seems I have one more friend in tonight's gathering, Lily. Will you go with the girls just as planned?"
He turned to Lily who dried her hair. After taking a bath, her face looked clean and her long white hair was flowing down. It was so smooth and soft, it made him want to run his hand on her head.
"Un." Lily nodded, "They are all excited so I want to go together. Peachy and Amelia messaged me earlier to meet them in the Cafetain Lobby. It seems all girls will be there tonight."
"Alright. I will also meet up with MadLad and Flexy. Unfortunately, Atlas can't join today's banquet because he has a dungeon raid with Ferin."
"They love that game so much, don't they? Horizon Online? I might want to try it."
"Yeah, they are obsessed with it." Max nodded, "There is still time until the meeting time. What to do? Wanna watch a movie? It seems there is a good movie to watch in the theater."
"Hmm…" Lily pondered, thinking about something for a few seconds before nodding, "Sure. Let's go."
***
In the afternoon, the streets were packed with people. They walked in and out of shops, eating at restaurants and talking to their friends.
A movie theater stood at the corner, attracting many viewers to its door. It was a new movie that was getting released today, so the theater was full of people who wanted to watch it first.
"Wow, it's so crowded."
Standing in front of the building, Max looked around the area and saw a large group of people. Some were sitting on benches, some were walking, and some were waiting in line for their turn.
He had a ticket in hand. He and Lily were going to see a new comedy movie and were about to enter the theater when...
"Excuse me, can I ask you two a few questions?"
Suddenly a voice interrupted them, making Max turn his head to look. A woman wearing a business suit was approaching, her eyes focused on Lily.
From her gaze, it seemed like she didn't recognize them and thought Lily was just an ordinary person. That made sense considering she didn't recognize him too.
"May I take a bit of your time for the interview? My name is Sara, from National Entertainment Magazine."
Sara smiled at Lily, then at him.
"An interview? About what?"
Lily asked, tilting her head.
"Ah, it's an interview for my article. I'm writing an article on young couples and why they watch this romantic comedy movie. It won't take too long. I'll be done in 10 minutes." Sara explained. "And I will return that time by allowing you to skip the line. We're working together with this theater so you don't have to be worried about the queue."
"I guess it won't hurt to be interviewed. I can skip the line too. What about you, Lily?" Max turned to Lily, "Do you mind being interviewed for 10 minutes? It won't take too long and you can go inside without waiting."
Lily nodded. "Un, it's okay. I don't mind being interviewed for a while."
"Thank you very much! Then, let's start!" Sara said as she took out a tablet and started writing, "Okay. The first question is: what do you expect from this movie?"
"Uh, we're going to watch it, so I hope it'll be fun and entertaining. The trailer looks interesting, so we're excited." Max replied, thinking about how to answer like a normal person.
Supporting his answer, Lily nodded and said. "Yeah, the trailer was really funny. We can't wait to see it!"
"That's good to hear." Sara nodded and continued writing, "Now then, what made you want to watch this movie? What attracted you?"
"We have some free time so we decided to watch something. This movie is a good comedy so I decided to give it a shot."
Sara listened attentively and nodded. She then looked at Lily and asked, "And you? Did you have a specific reason for choosing this movie?"
Lily replied, "Same. Umm... My boyfriend invited me so I came with him. I'm looking forward to the funny scenes."
"How sweet." Sara smiled. She wrote some words on her tablet and said, "Last question. You must've known about the Streamer Wars tomorrow, right? What are your opinions regarding the best streamer?"
"Oh." Max and Lily looked at each other.
They giggled for a moment and answered at the same time.
"LilyPixel. She's beautiful and cool."
"Breeze. He's the best."
The way they replied at the same time made Sara chuckle. Then, she opened the profile of each streamer in her tablet and froze. The faces in each of the profiles were very similar. No, identical to the two people before her. Even the names were the same.
"No, way..." Sara muttered in realization. "U-Umm, m-may I get a picture of you two? For my article, of course!"
"Oh, sure." Max smiled. He then hugged Lily from behind and said, "Come on, say cheese!"
Lily nodded and leaned against his chest.
"Okay."
"Ch-Cheese." Sara stuttered and took the picture, "Th-thank you so much! P-Please go ahead!"
"No. Thank you. Let's go, Lily."
"Un." She nodded, smiling as they walked towards the theater. Max couldn't help but think that he was lucky to have a girlfriend who was so cute and understanding
A little mischief they did to the interviewer that didn't know about them. It made him smile. It was always fun to tease people.
As they got to their seats, Max turned to look at Lily.
"What did you think of that?"
"Of?"
"Interview."
"I don't know. I didn't have many questions, but it was kind of interesting to answer her."
"Yeah, it's always fun and fresh to see people don't recognize me." Max said with a smile and looked at the big screen. "The movie is about to start."
***
The movie started with a bang, a scene that was very intense.
A woman was being chased by a group of thugs, all of them wearing masks and carrying knives. The woman ran as fast as she could, dodging their attacks by using all kinds of ridiculous things around her.
She then jumped through the window of a house and hid in the bathroom.
But unfortunately, the leader of the thugs managed to get inside. He had a gun and a wicked smirk on his face.
"You're not gonna escape."
The thug grinned and pointed his gun at her.
Suddenly, the scene changed.
Now, the girl was in a bar. Her clothes were torn, and she was bleeding. But she didn't care. She just wanted to drink, so she sat down at the counter.
"Boss, gimme something strong!"
"Coming right up." The bartender nodded, then turned to a boy behind him. "Hey, new boy! Bring her this!"
The boy came forward, holding a glass of protein shake and a 5 KG dumbbell.
"Here, something strong."
"Not this kind of strong!" The girl said as she slapped the glass out of his hand. "Something to make me drunk, dumbass!"
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that's what you were talking about." The boy apologized, "I thought you wanted something to make you stronger."
"..." The girl looked at him and blinked.
"..." The bartender looked at him and blinked.
Everyone in the bar was silent. Then, they all burst into laughter.
"Hahahaha!"
The girl laughed loudly, "Haha! That was the funniest thing I've heard today!"
The boy laughed too, "Haha, I know."
"Alright, alright, enough joking around. Get me a drink. The usual, Boss!" The girl ordered the bartender who quickly poured a glass of alcohol for her.
"Here ya go." He said and gave the drink to the boy.

"Thanks." The boy said and drank it.
Everyone was quiet again.
"...Why did you drink that?!"
"Eh? Was it for you?" The boy looked at the girl, "Oh, sorry. I didn't know you wanted to drink that."
The movie continued from there.
The story was about the boy, who was actually a spy working undercover in a bar, falling for the girl who was also a spy. It was funny, heartwarming and full of action.
And it was enjoyable.

After the movie finished, the credits rolled and Max and Lily left the theater. The movie was great and the atmosphere was perfect. They walked out of the theater, feeling refreshed after the movie and discussed what they thought about it.
"It's fun. Ridiculous but funny." Lily said.
"Agreed." Max nodded and smiled, "A lot of unexpected moments and good action scenes. The romance part is good too. They really sold it with the funny moments and the ending is good. Overall, 9/10."
"Un." Lily agreed, "I also want to rate it 9/10."
They both smiled and laughed.
"Should we go now?" Max asked, "The gathering is in an hour, right?"
"Yes." She nodded and held his hand. "Let's return home. We need to prepare for our avatar's appearance in the stream. Will you use the suit I chose for you?"
"Of course. We're a couple. It will be nice to have matching outfits. I don't want anyone to get close to you in the gathering."
"Un!" She smiled happily and they went home, hand in hand. They enjoyed each other's company, talking about random things that came to mind, until the sun set on the horizon.
And then, it was time for the gathering.
