"Li Xiaohu, you are going too far!" The woman who spoke against Xie Daiyu couldn’t help but yell.

Li Xiaohu snorted. "When did I go too far?" he arched a brow and sneered. "Did I say anything wrong? Even if you are blind and deaf, you can hear the cries of the family members of those who died after following Shao Xia. Only a fool like you will say that following Shao Xia is better."

After speaking, he felt a bit better and then chased after Xie Daiyu. He couldn’t follow him while hunting, but the least he could do was to back him up when the mer was hunting the beast down.

The rest of the team looked at the woman who had offended both Li Xiaohu and Xie Daiyu before stepping away from her and taking their positions behind the leaders of the team.

Once the beast was in place, he nodded at Li Xiaohu, who also shifted into his beast form.

His beast form was a gigantic snake. Not big enough to belong to the snake tribe, but neither small enough to not take on the beast. He attacked the beast with his fangs, his body twisting around the tough body of the triceratops. As the giant python squeezed the body of the beast, it let out a ground-shattering roar, and that was when countless low-ranking warriors rushed at it and started tearing its body apart.

Sone tore its hind leg while the others went for its eyes and gouged them out, rendering the beast helpless.

The beast roared in pain, and the pack of triceratops stepped forward to help him; however, the leader stopped them by letting out a growl. The pack of triceratops hesitated; seeing this, the beast let out another roar. This time, it used all of its strength and fell to the ground.

It was only when the pack realised that they could not save their leader that they turned on their feet and ran away from the hunting ground.

"You were a good leader." These were the first words that Xie Daiyu said to the beast after returning to his human form. He licked the blood off his injuries while looking down at the beast. Even though the beast was hardly sentient, he was still admirable for the loyalty and bravery he had shown towards his pack.

"Should we bring it back now?" Li Xiao Hu asked. He was rolling his shoulders due to the fatigue that was climbing up his spine. He stared down at the beast and felt a bit reluctant. "I don’t want to share such a good thing with the tribe leaders." He was still upset over the fact that his sister was not getting any meat, just because she failed to awaken as a warrior beast woman. She was unlucky to awaken as a fox and could only work as a scout.

But when were scouts treated well by the beastwomen?

"We have no choice." Xia Daiyu was also unwilling. But as the tribe leader’s son, he couldn’t blatantly ignore the rest of the tribe just because of the elders.

He had to take care of the weak, old and orphans who had no one to look after them.

Seeing that look, Li Xiaohu turned silent because that meant that Xie Daiyu was going to take him out on another hunt. A private one this time, where no one would find out what they did.

Thus, he became quite docile and then brought back the body of the beast to the tribe. Xie Daiyu, on the other hand, was not paying attention to the gigantic beast, but instead he was looking around searching for something else that he could present to Ruan Chanchan. After studying her for a while, he had long understood that Ruan Chanchan didn’t like to eat beast meat, which meant that even if he gave it to her, it would probably land in the belly of Ruan Zeqiu.
