When the two of them returned to the tribe, Ruan Chanchan was not even surprised when she was glared at by Shao Xia. The two of them had returned just in time for the tribe to start distributing meat, and because the two of them walked the long and winding path before leaving the meat in her cave, it looked like they had come out of her cave. Something that Shao Xia caught from her own cave was now looking at her as if she wanted to skin her alive.

When Shao Xia noticed that Xie Daiyu was glaring at her, she was obviously very angry and upset. The two of them had spent so much time together, and yet Xie Daiyu had turned against her in just a few nights. She was being nice to him by still being willing to accept him, and yet the mer was being ungrateful.

However, she still looked away and reluctantly went to pick up the meat. Behind her, the fox mer looked at Xie Daiyu with an unfriendly look on his face. In the past, Shao Xia was very eager to serve him to the best, but nowadays she was treating him really poorly and didn’t even care about him when he told her that he was going to move on to another woman if this went on. He thought that it was because Shao Xia was bored with him. But now he had a feeling that the woman was just missing her old lover!

Lin He was rather upset, but he stayed quiet as he knew that he could never beat Xie Daiyu. However, as he pursed his lips and turned to look away there was a hint of viciousness in his eyes. The mer already had another woman, but he was still trying to move his woman.

Here, Xie Daiyu had no idea that he had created an enemy without doing anything. He turned to look at Ruan Chanchan, who was speaking to Ruan Zeqiu.

"Why are you angry? Are you upset because I left without letting you know?" Ruan Chanchan tilted her head to one side and peered up at Ruan Zeqiu’s face. She thought that the mer was going to return for the entire night, and that was why she left the cave with Xie Daiyu. If she had known that her brother would return so soon, she wouldn’t have left.

Ruan Zeqiu turned his head to one side and huffed. "Sister, you are a liar." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"What do you mean by that I am a liar?"

"Zeqiu?" Before Ruan Chanchan could say anything further, a woman with a burly build came over to the two siblings. She raised her head and looked up at her, and so did Ruan Zeqiu. While Ruan Chanchan was curious, her brother was simply disgusted. He raised a side of his lips and questioned, "Lang, what are you doing here?"

As soon as Ruan Chanchan heard that this woman’s name was Lang, she turned wary. Earlier, she had heard about Lang trying to capture Raun Zeqiu, and she hadn’t quite forgotten it yet.

"It’s nothing," Lang smiled as if she couldn’t sense that she wasn’t welcome. She said to Ruan Zeqiu, "I just wanted to ask you if something upset you? You look like you are in a foul mood."

"And so what if he is upset?" Ruan Chanchan spoke up before Ruan Zeqiu could. She levelled the woman with a glare. "My brother is upset with me, and I, as his sister, can take care of this. Do I need you to take care of him?"

After speaking, she pushed Ruan Zeqiu behind her. She didn’t like how the woman was looking at her brother as if he were something that she could covet.

Lang’s eyes flickered with annoyance, but she controlled her temper. Nodding at Ruan Chanchan, she said, "I see. It seems like I overstepped my boundaries."

She then spun on her heels and walked away as if she just didn’t look at Ruan Zeqiu, as if she wanted to eat him whole.

Once she was gone, Ruan Chanchan turned around and looked at Ruan Zeqiu hurriedly. "She is a bad woman; you stay away from that bad woman. In fact," She paused and looked up at Xie Daiyu. "Didn’t someone in your team leave earlier?" She heard that one woman had left Xie Daiyu’s hunting team, and he was looking for someone to fill the gap.

"Yes?" Xie Daiyu didn’t know why Ruan Chanchan was asking this, but he still nodded his head. "Why are you asking this, though?"

"Then you take Zeqiu." Ruan Chanchan thought that her plan made perfect sense. With Ruan Zeqiu following Xie Daiyu, she wouldn’t have to worry about someone taking advantage of him. She was right here, and she could see at least twenty women looking at Ruan Zeqiu as if he were all alone. If she left her brother alone, who knows how these women would treat him? Instead of letting him join temporary teams all the time, she might as well let him join a team whose leader she could trust.
