Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 223: Something stinks (II)
Ruan Zeqiu, who was pigging through the leftovers, stiffened and turned to look at his sister. He glanced over his shoulder and said, "You were not calling me stinky, were you, sister?"
"Oh, I was," Ruan Chanchan scrunched up her nose and wrinkled her face. She retreated another small step and fanned her hand in front of her nose. "What did you do today? You smell so bad, Zeqiu."
"I do not stink." Ruan Zeqiu shouted; his voice was filled with exasperation. He couldn’t believe that his sister was actually calling him stinky. Was this really the correct way for a sister to treat her younger brother?
"Is that so?" Ruan Chanchan took another step out of the cave, and with her voice filled with disdain, she said to the mer, "Then take a careful sniff and you will know how much you stink."
Ruan Zeqiu’s face turned red, and his expression turned livid before saying, "Fine, I will take a sniff. Who are you even trying to lie to?" With his teeth gritted in hatred, he lowered his head and raised his arm to sniff his armpit. However, as soon as he took a whiff, a sour stench rushed into her nostrils. Instantly, it gave him the feeling of suffocation.
His face turned red when he realised that he was really stinking.
His expression turned ugly, and many thoughts flashed in his head. He was stinking so badly... did he really walk through the tribe smelling like this? How embarrassing.
It must be because Ruan Zeqiu was used to smelling the stench from his body, and that was why, after prolonged exposure to his own body, his nose had long been adapted to the stench that came from him. Eventually, after getting used to the stench that overflowed from his body, he was no longer able to detect the stench.
This was the reason why Ruan Zeqiu couldn’t see anything wrong with his condition. He hadn’t bathed for several days and didn’t feel like there was any need for him to wash his body. It was only after being reminded by his sister that he started to feel conscious about the stench that was coming from him. And the stench was so strong that he was close to fainting.
"What do you think? Don’t you think that you smell?" Ruan Chanchan asked. With her arms crossed and her eyes filled with mirth. "I wonder what others thought when they smelt this stench from you."
"I..." Ruan Zeqiu was at a loss for words. When he thought about how others might be mocking her for the stench that was coming from her, he suddenly felt embarrassed.
Ruan Chanchan, however, didn’t leave him so easily. "How many times have I told you to use the soap that I gave you to clean the stench off your body? Why can’t you just listen to me? It’s not like I am going to harm you."
Ruan Zeqiu pursed his lips. How was he supposed to tell his sister that it wasn’t that he didn’t want to take a bath, but he was worried about using too much water? The water in this river was way too precious, and many of the tribe members were careful even when they were just drinking water. How could he use the water to bathe? Wasn’t he just asking for trouble by using the water to clean his body?
He didn’t dare to.
Even though her brother didn’t say anything, Ruan Chanchan understood his worries. Her brows became a tangled mess as she said to him, "Don’t think too much; the water of the river will not run out just because you took a few baths."
Did this foolish mer really think that he would make the entire river run out of water just because he took a few dips in it? If the river were to run dry just because he was bathing in it, then the river wouldn’t be called a river but just a pond.
"I still think that it’s better to be careful lest we end up getting blamed again." Ruan Zeqiu replied while carefully avoiding looking at Ruan Chanchan in the eyes.
Seeing this, Ruan Chanchan understood that her good brother was only looking for excuses to avoid taking a bath. She narrowed her eyes and said to him, "You’d better take a bath for me now, or else you are not going to get dinner tonight." After staying with Ruan Zeqiu for so long, she knew how to control this little one. Sure enough, as soon as she brought up no dinner, the mer immediately jumped in the air like a cat whose tail had been stepped on and yelped, "You cannot do that to me."
"Watch me." Ruan Chanchan’s eyes narrowed even more when she saw the mer resisting. "If this stench doesn’t get cleaned, then there is no need for you to come back home. I cannot sleep when you are smelling like a pile of rotten maggots."
And before the mer could say anything, she kicked him out of the cave.
"Ouch!" Ruan Zeqiu, who was thrown out of the cave, bumped into Xie Daiyu. The two mers looked at each other, and Ruan Zeqiu’s face, if possible, turned even redder. "Since when were you standing outside?"
"Since your sister told you that you stank."
Ruan Zeqiu: "..."
So from the beginning.
Realising that his face had been thrown on the ground and stomped on, Ruan Zeqiu was so angry that his face puffed up dangerously. He glared at the smirking mer and snarled at him like an angry cat, "Who are you smirking at? You are smelling just as bad." After he finished speaking, he raised his head as haughtily as he could and then walked past the stupefied mer.
Xie Daiyu was indeed shocked because he didn’t think that he smelled bad. However, after being called stinky, he couldn’t help but lower his head and smell the scent coming from his body.
Xie Daiyu: "..."
Xie Daiyu: "..."
"Uwe."
"Yuck."
