Harem app-Chapter 89: Complete defeat
Chapter 89: Complete defeat
Third person POV
Amelia was unsure how she should introduce Liam to her relatives. In particular, she was very worried about how they would react upon learning about the harem.
"Nice to meet you. I guess you could say we’re friends, but I’ll be her boyfriend," Liam introduced himself that way.
Why?
Simple, judging by the reactions of those around him, he assumed that Amelia hadn’t yet told them they had started dating. In fact, seeing the looks on their faces after his statement, he suspected she hadn’t even mentioned breaking up with Cole.
Liam wondered whether he should turn it into a joke and say they were just friends or if he should reveal the breakup.
In the end, he didn’t have to decide, as Amelia quickly intervened, explaining that she had broken up with her ex-boyfriend. Upon hearing this, everyone was surprised and even a little saddened, except for Matty.
Matty, Amelia’s cousin, was 15 years old and had a crush on her, so he was secretly pleased to hear about the breakup. freёwebnoѵel.com
Not that it would make any difference.
Naturally, after such startling revelations, the conversation at the table quickly turned to Liam and Amelia. The family was eager to understand the reason behind the breakup and to learn more about this boy they had never heard of before.
When they learned about the way Cole cheated on her girlfriend, Amelia’s father became furious and threatened to hunt him down to the ends of the earth and beat him up. Seeing this, Liam was surprised to discover that the woman who looked like an older version of Amelia was actually her aunt.
"Don’t worry, I already took care of that," Liam intervened, telling a story that was partly true and partly exaggerated about how he had beaten up Cole.
Naturally, this earned him a certain level of respect from everyone at the table, except for two people: Amelia’s younger cousin, who was already asleep in her lap, and Matty, who was burning with jealousy.
And that jealousy would only grow, as Liam effortlessly handled all of the family’s questions, charming them completely.
Amelia’s aunt even joked that if they had met 30 years earlier, she would have fallen for him. Her mother nearly wanted to arrange a wedding on the spot. Even her father was starting to like him.
Watching this, a certain young man became even more frustrated. His family wasn’t the hardest to please, but this was getting ridiculous.
Besides, he could tell, just by the way Amelia looked at that bastard, that she was hopelessly in love.
But he couldn’t accept it! Liam was definitely a bad person because... well, he just was. Matty didn’t need a reason to justify his judgments.
From that moment on, the boy desperately tried to make comments or ask questions that would put Liam in a bad position, but his failure was spectacular. All he managed to do was further strengthen Amelia’s love for him.
She was truly happy to see how well her family was accepting their relationship. Besides, Liam had given her the perfect excuse to finally tell them about Cole.
Frustrated by his own inability to shake Liam, Matty finally snapped. In a last-ditch effort, he decided to confront his rival physically, maybe violence was the solution.
Grabbing Liam by the collar, Matty seethed with anger. He didn’t even know what he intended to do, but his internal frustrations had reached a boiling point, and he could no longer hold himself back.
Acting on impulse, he swung his fist, attempting to land a punch on the man standing before him.
But it couldn’t have gone worse.
With ease, Liam dodged the attack, causing Matty to stumble over his own feet and clumsily crash into a poor blonde girl passing by.
As a result of the disastrous movement, the girl lost her grip on the glass she was holding, spilling its contents all over her dress, an unfortunate conclusion to an already miserable day she was having.
Liam reacted quickly, helping Matty to his feet before turning to the girl, offering his assistance with the grace of a gentleman.
Her name was Alice.
She had come to the restaurant for a date with a guy her friend had assured her was nice. The mere thought of meeting someone new in such a setting had made her anxious, but things had only gone downhill from there.
The hours she had spent perfecting her makeup were wasted when an unexpected rainstorm caught her and her date off guard, ruining everything.
But that wasn’t even the worst part of her day.
The date itself had been an absolute disaster. She was naturally shy and struggled to initiate conversations, while the guy sitting across from her turned out to be utterly uninteresting. Alice blamed herself, this always happened. Her dates always ended the same way: in long, awkward silences that never seemed to end.
And just when she thought the night couldn’t get any worse, it did.
After her date abruptly left, abandoning her alone at the restaurant, Alice found herself dealing with intense stomach pain. The discomfort quickly became unbearable, and she had no choice but to run to the restroom.
For what felt like an eternity, she remained trapped in a miserable battle with her stomach. She nearly felt as though she had married the toilet.
As if that weren’t humiliating enough, in the middle of her suffering, she had to endure listening to a passionate couple entering the bathroom, only to proceed with an intense, unrestrained lovemaking session.
Alice had seen adult films before, but she had never heard moans like those. It really seemed like the girl was having the night of her life.
Curious in spite of herself, she peeked for just a second, only to witness an absolutely stunning woman riding a man with fervent intensity. The look on her face made it clear that she was experiencing pure ecstasy.
A pang of jealousy struck Alice. She also wanted a boyfriend who could...
Well, she wasn’t sure. Alice was still far too shy and innocent to fully understand what it was she truly wanted.
As if the day couldn’t get any worse, the moment Alice finally stepped out of the bathroom, she was hit by an idiot who had tripped over his own feet. As a result, the glass of wine she had just ordered spilled all over her brand-new dress.
At the very least, a handsome and kind gentleman rushed to help her up as soon as she fell.
Maybe this was a sign from the heavens, a message from fate trying to bring them together. For a brief moment, her heart raced as her mind conjured up impossible fantasies.
Alice was a hopeless romantic, addicted to rom-coms and love stories. Her biggest dream was to live out a romance like the ones in the movies, to find someone who truly understood her, someone who would always be by her side.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t have been further from that dream. Despite being absolutely stunning, her extreme shyness and difficulty in expressing herself pushed people away. Most men gave up on her, assuming she simply wasn’t interested. Well... many times, she actually wasn’t.
But all those romantic fantasies shattered the instant she saw Amelia. That was when she realized why the face in front of her looked so familiar.
He was Amelia’s boyfriend, the one she never stopped talking about, even for a second. Yet, something about him seemed familiar beyond that...
A deep wave of envy surged in Alice’s chest as she realized this handsome, gentle prince had already been claimed by someone else. Not just that, it needed to be Amelia, the one she already entered for multiple reasons.
And the sight of Amelia’s ample chest bouncing aggressively as she bent down toward her only made Alice feel even more jealous.
Big-breasted girls should just explode! She thought bitterly, forcing a polite smile.
"Alice, are you okay?" Amelia asked. "Sorry about my useless cousin. Come on, I’ll help you clean up. But... why were you even here?"
Then, as a possible answer crossed Amelia’s mind, her face went pale. "I really hope we didn’t ruin your date..."
"Don’t worry," Alice sighed. "My date was already a disaster long before you guys showed up. I guess I’m just having an unlucky day."
"Where do you two know each other from?" Liam asked.
Amelia quickly explained that Alice was her volleyball teammate. Afterward, Liam carefully checked to see if Alice was hurt and even offered to escort her home.
Of course, Alice refused. After thanking him for his kindness, she decided it was best to just head home and sleep.
Yet, the moment she lay down in bed, her mind was filled with vivid, horny dreams about Liam. She imagined traveling to the beach with him, their first date, their wedding, and, most importantly, the sex. She pictured herself riding him in the bathroom like that bitch, and...
That was when something in her brain clicked. She suddenly remembered where else she had seen him before. But she wasn’t completely sure.
Meanwhile, back at the family dinner, things were finally coming to an end.
Matty, who had received a harsh scolding for his reckless and aggressive behavior, now sat sulking in his corner. His parents, on the other hand, watched him with concern, wondering if he would ever grow up and turn into a "normal" person.
Hearing this, Liam disagreed.
"Being normal is boring," he said. "People should just follow their own paths without being afraid to be happy."
Or... something equally ridiculous and cliché.
The truth was, that Liam was exhausted and had a bit to drink. At that point, everything coming out of his mouth was just generic self-help nonsense.
Still, for some reason, Matty seemed inspired by his words.
Even more than that, he was struck by the fact that Liam actually took the time to sit and chat with him for a while.
Even though they were supposed to be ’enemies’, Liam still treated him kindly.
It was impossible not to admit defeat. And yet... accepting it was just as hard.
With those conflicting emotions swirling inside him, Matty pouted and made up his mind, he would go on a journey of self-improvement.
One day, he would surpass Liam.
Finally, everyone said their goodbyes.
Liam called a taxi home, while the rest of the family left together. And as soon as Amelia arrived home, despite how late it was, she immediately sat down to write in her diary again.
She had way too much to say, and she simply couldn’t wait any longer.
