Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 174: Bloodsense
"Who are you?" Dora asked Audrey, looking at her with calculating eyes.
"She’s my mother," Mikhail stepped in front of Audrey, glaring at Dora.
"She’s holding my sister," Dora pointed at Cherry in Audrey’s arms.
"Yes." Mikhail gave a short reply.
"No." Dora shook her head.
"Why?" Mikhail asked.
"She’s hurting her by holding her, Mum, you didn’t tell her?" Dora asked Maria.
"No, she’s not, Angel, aunt Audrey helped Cherry. She’s no more in pain," Maria walked forward and took Dora’s hand, leading her to Audrey.
"See? My Moma can never hurt anyone, she heals," Mikhail boasted.
Dora rolled her eyes, "I’ll ask her first,"
Audrey chuckled and gently lowered Chery to the floor, "There you go, tell your sister," She said to the little girl.
Cherry places a hand on Dora’s cheek, "It’s true, she took away the power until I’m ready for it. You see, I can’t read your mind anymore," She smiled at Dora.
Dora furrowed her brows cutely, "Really?" She asked, her face slowly morphing into a smile.
"Really," Cherry smiled brightly.
"Yes!" Dora hugged Cherry, lifting off her feet and spinning her around.
Everyone watched the twins with a smile on their faces, Caleb sent Audrey a look of gratitude, silently thanking her for helping his child.
"Now I can play with you without hurting, right?" Dora asked, excited.
"Yeah," Cherry giggled.
"What do you have to say, Dora?" Mikhail questioned with a frown.
Dora sighed and reluctantly looked up at Audrey.
"I apologize for assuming wrongly, Ms. -"
"Aunt Audrey," Maria corrected.
"Audrey is just fine, sweetheart," Audrey said, smiling.
Dora looked to her mother, who nodded at her. "Okay, I’m sorry, Audrey, for assuming you were hurting my sister, and I want to thank you for helping her, too; forgive my ill judgment," She bowed to Audrey.
Audrey smiled, "It’s okay, you were just being a caring sister, I forgive you," She said.
"And I forgive you, too," Mikhail repeated.
Dora surprised everyone by hugging Mikhail and sniffing him, "Tha know you, too, Alpha," She smiled and stepped back.
Audrey’s eyes immediately sought Maria’s for an explanation; Caleb sighed and went over to Dora, "Baby, you know we’ve talked about this, just as I used to tell Cherry; you don’t have to say everything you sniff. Do you understand?" He asked in a soft voice.
Dora looked sad, she felt she’d done something bad again.
"No, no, it’s fine, she’s done nothing wrong," Audrey lowered herself in front of her.
"Can I hold your hand, Dora?" Audrey asked I’m a soft voice.
"Are you going to take away my gifts too?" Dora was skeptical.
"No, sweetheart, not if you ask me to," Audrey replied.
Dora looked at Maria, a reluctant look marking her face.
"Trust her, Dora, she’s your aunt; she won’t hurt you," Maria nodded, placing her hand over Cherry’s shoulder.
Dora slowly raised her hands and placed them on Audrey’s, "Impressive," Audrey murmured, staring a look with Maria.
Maria glanced at Caleb before speaking, "Yes, she is."
Audrey smiled at Dora, "No wonder she’s fierce. She hasn’t met her wolf, yet. She has the spirit of a warrior and has a gift of Bloodsense," Audrey stood and led Dora to sit on the couch, placing Mikhail beside her.
"What is Bloodsense?" Dora asked.
"It’s what your gift is called; tell me, you were skeptical about why your mother called me your aunt after touching me. Do you still feel skeptical?" Audrey questioned calmly.
Dora shook her head, "No, I know your family, I can feel it, and I can sniff it," She replied.
"So that is what her gift is called?" Caleb gently lifted Cherry and placed her beside Mikhail.
"Yes, it’s a rare and powerful ability found in young werewolves who have not yet experienced their first shift. Bloodsense allows them to identify a person’s true nature, lineage, or emotional state through scent alone. She can tell if someone shares their bloodline, no matter how distant, which makes it impossible for lost family members or hidden offspring to remain undiscovered. Right now, she knows how I and Mikhail are related to her, and she knows, oh, she knows too much, just who Mikhail’s father is; she sniffed it out of him without remorse," Audrey explained with a chuckle.
Maria sighed, "So, you’re saying there’s not much difference between her and Cherry’s gifts?" She asked.
"They are quite distinct; Cherry reads minds and could only find out information your brain could remember, and she has a healer’s gift, bet you didn’t know that," Audrey winked at Maria, who looked amazed and shocked at the same time.
"But, Dora? She’s the opposite; she is no healer; you can call her the goddess of doom; she has a fierce spirit that seeks war for pleasure; that’s why she seems like she’s always getting in trouble, am I right?" Audrey pined her cheeks.
Dora giggled and nodded, "Mom and Das say I get in trouble a lot,"
"It’s not her fault, it’s just her inner warrior seeking a hobby; as for the Bloodsense, unlike Cherry who finds information about people through their mind, Dora sniffs it out of you, she can even sniff out the information you never knew about yourself, as long as it’s in your blood, she’s almost like a human DNA. So, both girls are unique in their way." She stood and pointed at Dora.
"However, Dora, whatever you find, you keep, witches don’t spill, yeah?" She narrowed her eyes at the little girl.
"Finders keepers," Dora smiled brightly. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Am I an Alpha, Moma?" Mikhail suddenly asked with a little frown.
Audrey sighed, "You’ll have a nice chat with Moma at home, okay? I’ll tell you everything," She replied.
Mikhail hesitated for a while, "Okay, Moma, I believe you," He smiled.
"I don’t like her," Dora suddenly said.
"Who are you talking about?" Maria questioned.
"Melody," Audrey replied, facing the door.
Cherry sighed, "Me neither,"
"She’s ugly, too," Mikhail said, causing the twins to laugh.
Audrey smirked, sharing her amusement with Caleb and Maria.
This meant that they no longer needed to bother themselves with dealing with Melody’s drama, the kids would handle her just fine.
"Hey, Audrey, I’ve got loads of boring information about her; want to hear," Dora asked; Melody’s footsteps were getting closer and closer.
"Me too, she’s quite boring, I don’t mind sharing," Cherry chipped in.
"No, girls; finders, keepers. I can find out myself if I wanted, just as you’ve said, she’s boring, not worth it," Audrey winked at them.
"True," Dira replied.
"I’ll just go, okay, the attentive doctor," Caleb walked over to his table and lowered himself to his chair.
The door flew open the moment Caleb sat down, "Wow, look what we have here, the new bitch trying to suck up to the pack members," Melody waltzed into the office, giving Audrey a condescending look.
"Watch your words, Melody," Maria said to her, her face displeased.
Melody scoffed, "Oh, please, children are not supposed to be in the hospital in the first place. Everyone, leave; I need to see the doctor; I think I might be carrying the little Alpha in here," She smirked at Audrey as she slowly rubbed her tummy.
Audrey didn’t respond, it was obvious that Melody was just being a crackhead.
"There’s no pup in there, Audrey, or it’s probably dead, that’s why I can’t sniff it," Dora said, smiling when her twin fell on her, giggling.
Mikhail wasn’t smiling; he didn’t like the fact that someone had just threatened his position. Dora had just called him the Alpha; now, a lunatic was claiming that she was carrying the young Alpha.
"Or there might be a pup, but it doesn’t belong to my father; that’s why you can’t sniff it, Dora, because it’s not blood like Moma had explained," Mikhail calmly delivered his hate speech.
Melody was embarrassed, she opened her mouth to say something but immediately closed it, glaring at Audrey.
"Aww, poor lady, being schooled by kids, tough luck, huh?" Maria smiled at Melody.
"Shut your mouth and leave, I need to speak to the doctor about my baby," Melody commanded.
Audrey sighed, "Do you want to attend to her," She turned to look at Caleb.
Caleb looked at the three children, "I think they should decide if they’re ready to leave the office yet," He replied.
"Nope," Dora said with a mean smile.
"No, I’m staying with the young Alpha," Cherry hugged Mikhail.
"And I say we’re not leaving," Mikhail concluded.
Caleb sighed, "I’m sorry, but, what they said," Caleb pointed to the three kids.
"You idiot! You’ll go in for defying your future, Luna!" She threatened.
"How about you just leave? My mate can’t attend to a mistress," Maria winked at Melody.
’You! Huh!" Melody’s eyes widened in shock as she felt her arm gripped from behind her; she snapped her head behind her and glared at Andrew, who was holding her back as she was about to launch an attack on Maria.
"What’s going on here?" Lake stepped into the room, his eyes locking right on Audrey.
"Oh, my Alpha, it’s Audrey; she had just threatened to harm our baby," Melody slid toward Lake, hooking her arm around him and laying her head on his chest.
That got to Audrey.
She had thought, no, she had believed that Lake had never had anything to do with Melody, but hearing her openly speak about a baby to him meant that her thoughts and beliefs were all pointless.
Even though she felt no double heartbeat from Melody, it still hurt her to learn that Lake had fucked someone else.
"What are you talking about, Melody?" Lake questioned, his eyes searching Audrey’s eyes as he immediately put a good distance from Melody.
"Come, Mikhail, it’s time to leave,"
She carried Mikhail and walked out of the room.
"Audrey -"
"Let her go, Alpha, it should just be you and I...and our baby," Melody hugged Lake from behind.
