Chapter 186: Melody’s Friend

"He’s fine," Caleb said to Audrey as he walked out of the room they had placed Leon.

"I know. I just wanted you to do the professional checking," Audrey replied and slowly walked out of the passage and into the general living room.

Caleb shrugged, "He was just shocked. I guess you didn’t get to give him a subtle introduction to your world," He said as he leaned his elbow behind the couch.

Audrey sighed, "Well... it was sudden. And it’s all his fault," She pointed to Sebastian who was walking out of the kitchen.

"Huh? What did I do now?" Sebastian asked with a plate of fries in his hand.

"Leon, Sebastian; you caused him to faint," Caleb replied.

Sebastian scoffed, "No, it wasn’t me. It was Lake, he went all Alpha on him," he winked at Audrey and walked toward her.

"Want some?" He placed the plate of fries in front.

Audrey gently pushed his hand away, suddenly smirking at him.

"What? Why are you looking at me in that manner?" He questioned, narrowing his eyes at Audrey.

"Just got curious..." She grinned.

Sebastian furrowed his brow but his face suddenly changed to shock when he realized what Audrey had done, "You... why did you read my... What did you see?" He asked, curious.

"You tell me; it’s your mind, after all, you know better," Audrey crossed her legs, smiling.

Sebastian sighed, "Don’t say a word about it to anyone, Audrey. I’m actually pleading, please," He sat down beside her.

Audrey glanced at Caleb who had been quietly observing them, "Wanna know?" She asked him.

Caleb nodded, "If it’s something that would soften his pride, I’m all ears," He replied.

Audrey was about to speak when Sebastian clamped his mouth with his hand, "Come on, Audrey, think back to when you used to have a crush on me... I’m still the same man, so, take pity on me and don’t tell, okay?" He pleaded.

"Eww! Get your greasy hand off my lips, Sebastian," She tore his hand away from her mouth, frowning and wiping her lips with the back of her hand.

"Sorry..." Sebastian pouted.

"Now, I’m really going to tell, and I’ll tell her, too," Audrey threatened.

"Ah, so it’s about a girl," Caleb asked.

"Audrey, come on," Sebastian held her hand.

"Yes, it’s about a girl he’s suddenly started to admire, and is already falling in love with her," Audrey smirked, happy with her exposure.

"Ugh, come on! That should be enough talking," Sebastian fell back on the couch and covered his face with his hands.

Caleb chuckled, "It’s alright, man. It’s a good thing. You’ve been single for centuries, a woman’s touch is all you need right now," he patted Sebastian’s shoulder.

"What an unlucky woman," they suddenly heard a voice at the entrance of the living room.

Audrey looked at the door and saw Green walking inside the house with her usual expressionless face.

"You think?" Audrey asked her.

Sebastian sat up on the couch, looking away from Green and praying that Audrey would stop talking.

Green paused in front of Audrey and bowed her head slightly. "I think so. Sebastian is not someone anyone would want... respectfully," She bowed again and left.

"Hi, Green," Caleb waved at Green as she walked past him and toward her room, but he was ignored, as expected.

"Let her alone, Caleb. She’s just being Green," Audrey said.

"You know what would be funny?" Caleb tapped Sebastian’s back.

"What?" Sebastian questioned, still feeling bad from Green’s words. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"It would be so funny if Green turned out to be the girl you’re secretly crushing on," he chuckled, expecting Audrey and Sebastian to laugh or say something to support what he’d said. Rather, they all stared at him with weird expressions, as if he had consciously made a joke to intentionally hurt someone.

Audrey and Sebastian stared at Caleb; Sebastian’s face looked like he’d been punched in the stomach.

"Come on guys, what did I say? I just said....wait... it’s her?" Caleb paused in disbelief.

Sebastian sighed and turned to his front, glancing at Audrey in an accusing manner.

"Damn, bro; when did this happen? She hates your gut. No hate, but it’s the fact. Wow, you’ve got a fierce journey with that one. Does she even smile?" Caleb couldn’t help the small chuckles that left his mouth.

"Having fun, huh?" Audrey frowned at Caleb.

"Not that way. But, hey, I’m here for emotional support just in case she rejects you... which she will; that girl is a mean witch... pun intended." He smiled and walked around to sit on the opposite couch.

"Fuck off, man. Just make sure no one hears about this." Sebastian warned.

"If not?" Caleb asked, his brows raised.

"I’d kill you," Sebastian promised

"Yes, Alpha of another pack who is always lazying about in our pack while ruling his pack through calls and emails," Caleb crossed his legs, smirking.

"How dare -"

"He’s not wrong," Audrey cut Sebastian off, fixing him with a hard stare, "Why are you always here?" She questioned.

Sebastian sighed, "I’ve got nothing going on there. There are no longer threats coming in so it’s just the basic pack duties. They don’t require my presence; I’ve got a beta; he handles everything under my instructions," He answered.

"And, I’m here for Lake. He’s like a brother to me, this pack is like my family," He added.

"Then open your borders, merge it with our pack. Let them become one, it’s right beside the Grey Blood Pack. Then, Lake can rule everything and everyone," Caleb suggested.

"No. Legacy, lineage, Alpha ego, pack’s pride. Somethings can’t be gambled with, Doctor Caleb," Sebastian replied, looking serious as he spoke.

Audrey smiled, "You’re an Alpha, after all. You heard him, doc. Don’t mess with an Alpha," She proudly tapped Sebastian’s lap.

Caleb scoffed, "I hear you. Let’s hope his Alpha skills get him the woman he wants," He said.

Sebastian was about to reply when loud footsteps were heard from the door, drawing their attention to the entrance.

Melody walked in her green dress and red heels; beside her was an unknown woman who wore a pure white dress with white heels and long, blonde hair.

"Here we go," Sebastian murmured as Melody approached them.

Caleb looked with curiosity while Audrey calmly sat, her legs crossed. She was almost starting to feel bored without any drama.

She pinned her eyes on the new woman, trying to figure out why she seemed so familiar.

Melody sashayed her way into the center of the living room, her blonde friend behind her.

"Where’s the Alpha?" Melody questioned, her hands crossing over her chest.

No one spoke, the guys pretended to busy themselves with their phones, ignoring her and her questions.

Audrey simply stared at the blonde woman, noticing how she avoided eye contact with her.

"I asked a question, Caleb?" She faced Caleb and pointedly asked him.

Lake had warned her to stop messing with Audrey, so she was avoiding her for now.

Caleb sighed, "Why me?" He muttered before looking up to face Melody.

"What do you want, evil Melody? Brought your evil friend? Who’s she by the way?" Caleb questioned, scrutinizing the blonde woman.

"I heard Alpha Lake has taken away your bragging right, what are you still doing in his pack? Too shameless?" Sebastian asked, raising a brow.

Melody balled her fists, she was about to say something when her friend held her hand.

"It’s okay, Melody. You have to remain calm, there’s no need to act rashly. Remember what our purpose is; the Alpha will not be happy if we act so rashly," Her friend’s voice was so soft, like the wind.

Calen suddenly yawned loudly, "Wow, what a perfect voice you’ve got, blonde," he said.

The blonde girl smiled politely, "Thank you, sir," She stared at him with her brown eyes.

"Yeah, you’re welcome. It’s perfect for deception, just like your mission," Caleb replied, glancing at Sebastian and sharing a grin with him.

Audrey saw the sudden alarm in the blonde woman’s eyes but it was gone before anyone could notice.

Indeed, they were here for something. Even if Caleb didn’t point it out, she’d know; they reeked of mischief and evil.

There could only be one thing they wanted: to separate her from Lake.

This storyline was getting old, she needed something she had never witnessed, something exciting... not something she could stop while sleeping.

Melody glared at Caleb, "How dare you accuse her wrongly, she -"

"Did he?" Sebastian stood, striding toward the blonde girl.

Melody moved back, biting her lips and lowering her head.

Sebastian ignored her and extended his hand to the blonde woman. "What’s your name?" He asked calmly.

The blonde woman hesitated for a moment before shaking his hands, "Ava. Ava Hamilton," She replied.

Sebastian nodded and slowly released her hand, "Welcome to the Grey Blood pack, Ms. Hamilton. But I must warn you, others before you failed... you’d be no different," He stepped back, glancing at Melody.

Ava remained calm, "I don’t understand what you’re talking about, Alpha..." She paused, glancing at Melody for his name.

"Sebastian. Alpha Sebastian," He said.

"I have no intention of hurting anyone, Alpha Sebastian... I just need some help," Ava replied.

"You know? I admire you girls’ courage. You both are aware that this pack is swarmed with strong witches and wolves, but somewhere in your silly brains, you thought you could come in here with fake innocent face and have your way, good riddance," Sebastian shook his head and turned to return to his seat but he paused when he saw Green standing behind the sofa he was sitting.

"Who are you?" Green asked Ava.

"I’m -"

"I don’t care. Whatever your plan is, make sure it’s nothing to with her..." She pointed at Audrey, "Or anyone dear to her..." She walked over to Ava, her face mean and posture intimidating.

"I kill for fun, Barbie; ask around," Green’s eyes bore into Ava’s before she walked away.
