Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 190: A candid advice
Ava schooled her features, her eyes never leaving Audrey’s.
"I know nothing of what you’re asking, Audrey. I just want to stay here until the rogue attack is over." Ava spoke gently.
Audrey stood from Lake’s lap, "Fine, then. Keep it that way. If you want to do otherwise, I’d ask Melody for some experienced advice; also, remember her words, she doesn’t joke with them." She pointed at Green.
"I don’t," Green agreed.
"Please, Melody, take your friend with you," Audrey said and stepped out from between the table and Lake.
Melody slowly stood, and Ava, too.
"Thank you, Alpha -"
"It wasn’t me who let you stay. It was Audrey," He said.
Melody gritted her teeth, anger swimming within her.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Audrey," Ava smiled in appreciation.
"Thank you, Audrey," Melody smiled, too.
"Aww, they’re so cute. Aren’t they, Green?" Audrey asked, smirking.
"They are," Green said and walked toward the door.
"The door is open, cute ladies; it’s time to leave," Green said, standing beside the door, tapping her foot on the floor.
Melody slowly walked toward the door, Ava beside her. They kept their face lowered as they walked through the door, hurrying their footsteps away from the office.
"Alright... that went well. Why are you two here?" Audrey turned to Sebastian, folding her hands on her chest.
"For entertainment," Sebastian looked at Green, "We were just at the café drinking some coffee when we saw Melody and her friend walk by; so, I decided to take this fiercely beautiful lady with me to see what’s happening," Sebastian explained.
"I came on my own," Green said, leaning beside the door.
"I understand what’s happening," Audrey smiled.
"What’s happening?" Lake stood, walking over to Audrey.
"Nothing, Alpha," Green replied.
"For now... nothing," Sebastian agreed.
Audrey chuckled, "Leave them alone, Lake. They’ll tell us when they’re ready," She winked at Green.
Green sighed, "There’s really nothing," She denied.
Sebastian went over to her, "I know nothing is going on right now, but, there will be. Bye guys," He grabbed Green’s hand and led her away from the office.
"Do you think Green will give in?" Audrey asked, holding Lake’s hand.
Lake looked at her face, "Have you given in to me? Witches are hard to please," he sighed and walked away.
"What the hell?" Audrey blinked in disbelief and ran after Lake.
He was halfway down the stairs when she caught up to him.
"Hey, that was rude," Audrey slapped his arm.
Lake shrugged, "It’s true." He paused and faced her.
"No, it’s not," She rolled her eyes.
"Want to prove otherwise?" He asked.
"Mm," She nodded.
"Then say you love me," He smirked at her.
Audrey smiled, "If I didn’t, would I be here with you?" She questioned.
"See? Never mind. I’m going to meet someone with Andrew. I’ll be back in the evening," He leaned in to kiss her but she dodged him.
"Bye, then," She slid past him and walked down the remaining stairs, aware of how Lake was staring at her.
With a smile on her face, she walked into the kitchen and greeted Ms. Bridget, who sat on a stool, directing a new chef on how to make a dish.
"Good morning, Momma," She went over and hugged Ms. Bridget.
Ms. Bridget smiled warmly at Audrey, "Hello, what have you been up to?" She questioned.
Audrey shrugged a shoulder, "Nothing, just finding a way to end all this." She waved her hand around her.
Ms. Bridget slowly nodded, "But, it seems you two are close enough. Is it still necessary to tell him everything? Why not just mark each other and let the past go?" She wondered.
Audrey shook her head, "He remembers, Momma," she sighed, "He says things close to truths," She said.
"Good morning, Ms. Audrey," The new chef came over with a tray of buns.
"Oh? Hi, a new face; you’re welcome," Audrey nodded politely.
"She’s Jacqueline, the new chef. I’m not getting any younger, you know?" Ms. Bridget smiled at Audrey.
"Oh, please. You don’t look a day over sixteen," Audrey patted Ms. Bridget’s cheek.
Jacqueline chuckled, "I tell her that all the time." She said.
Ms. Bridget smiled, "Fine, fine. I’m forever sixteen, then," She chuckled, standing to check the buns Jacqueline was carrying.
"They’re ready for baking," Ms. Bridget said, nodding.
Jacqueline nodded and carried the tray away.
"So, you said he remembers?" Ms. Bridget questioned.
Audrey nodded, "He’s trying to remember. He even sees some kind of blurry visions. I’m afraid of what might happen if I tell him. But I think it’s a good thing he’s remembering. At least, he’s allowed to remember but I’m not allowed to tell him. Just, he keeps asking me and it’s already looking like I don’t love him enough to tell him what he wants to know," Her voice was lowered as she spoke.
Ms. Bridget was quiet for a while, "Then... visit your garden," She suggested.
Audrey sighed, "I have."
Ms. Bridget shook her head, "Not for questioning or guidance; this time, you’re telling her." She said, looking serious.
Audrey got curious, "What do you mean?" She asked.
"I mean, you’re going to tell the spirits and whatever was it again?" Ms. Bridget frowned.
"Nature," Audrey answered.
"Yeah. You’re going to tell them that you’re done and you’re about to mark your mate and tell him everything, and, there would be nothing they could do about it. Trust me, they don’t like a challenge, but, will they do anything about it? No. So, young one, if you want your man back, he’s right in front of you, take him back," She shrugged.
"That’s my candid advice, child," Ms. Bridget said and touched Audrey’s shoulder.
"Um..." Audrey didn’t even know how to react.
Ms. Bridget had just told her to do everything she was avoiding.
"Okay... I will try," She slowly nodded.
"Yo!" Sandra suddenly jumped into the kitchen through the back door.
Audrey sighed, shaking her head at her friend, "You never change." She said to Sandra.
"Don’t I?" Sandra smiled happily at Audrey as she walked toward her.
Audrey rolled her eyes, "No. Where are you coming from?" She asked.
Sandra pointed outside, "Nothing, I was just with the girls and they decided to head out for a run. Wanna join?" She asked Audrey.
Audrey thought for a second; Mikhail was taken to school with Cherry and Dora, Leon was surprisingly still in his mini-coma, and Lake had gone to a meeting with Andrew. So, maybe she could head out with the girls.
"Sure," she nodded.
She could use the time and visit the garden and do what Ms. Bridget had told her.
Sandra looked happy, "Come on, then," She took Audrey’s hand and hurried out of the kitchen.
"Ah?!" Audrey gasped as someone snatched her hand the moment she stepped outside behind the kitchen.
"Ohh, we’ll be waiting in front of the forest," Sandra giggled and ran away.
Audrey frowned up at Lake, "What are you doing?" She questioned, pushing his chest.
Lake smirked sexily. He leaned his face and whispered, "Getting my kiss." He kissed her lips.
Audrey kissed him back, enjoying the attention she was getting.
"I thought you left," She whispered.
Lake chuckled, "Not without kissing you. I’ll be long." He looked sad.
Audrey caressed his cheek and chest, "Where are you going? Can I follow?" She asked.
Lake sniffed her hair, "It will be boring, it’s just some pack issue, go run with your friends." He kissed the tip of her nose and stepped away from her.
Audrey frowned, "So, it’s a pack issue, right? I’m not a member of the pack, right?" She leaned off the wall.
Lake fixed his hand in his pocket, "It’s not like that, Kitten. Trust me, it’s really boring, even to me. It’s just something I need to be present for, if not, I would have preferred to go with you girls," He touched her face.
"Fine. I’ll be waiting," She tipped her toes and kissed him.
"Bye," she smiled and ran off to Sandra and the rest.
"I love you," Lake whispered as he stared at Audrey’s retreating figure.

"Come on, girl, stop being love-sick," Sandra dragged Audrey inside the forest.
"Says the one who disturbed the whole pack with her loud moans last night," Maria said behind them.
"That’s too explicit," Maya whispered.
"They would have said the same to us if we lived in the same apartment as them," Stacy replied.
"Alright, we know y’all are mated. But, please, keep it down; single lives matter," Mary leaned on the tree in front, Janeth, Cara, and Grace beside her.
Audrey sighed, "Are we running or not?" She asked them loudly.
"We’re not," Stacy replied.
Audrey frowned, "What do you mean?" She questioned.
"We’re not running, we just wanted you to take us for a swim in your garden. It’s been ages. We can’t even see the damn gate," Sandra explained.
Audrey chuckled; that explained Sandra’s initial excitement.
"Would you take us, sister?" Maya asked her.
Audrey grimaced, "Ah, I wish there’s a way you could call me that without it reminding me that we’re bound by those assholes," She rubbed her temple.
Maya pouted, "I’m your sister, Audrey. Forget about Malachi and Elena; they faced their miserable ends. Just see me as your sister, just a sister with no shared parent," Maya blinked at Audrey.
Audrey sighed, "I’m sorry for bringing those bastards up. Come on, everyone, let’s go," She said and held Maya’s hand, taking the lead.
