"Ready?" Legoland asked Kailen.

"Are reporters still crowded outside?" Kailen asked.

"Yeah. Troublesome as always," Legoland chuckled dryly.

"Here." Kailen tossed a bracket to him.

"What’s this?" Legoland asked.

"A rank 8 runic concealment artifact," Kailen replied, back reclining in the sofa. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"Perks of being first ranked, I guess." Legoland replied. "Care to toss some energy orbs my way, my good sire?"

Kailen shook his head. "100 was not enough for you? Forget it; I used the remaining three hundred."

Legoland sighed. "How enviable."

"Says the future emperor," Kailen said.

"Ohhhh. Looks like you are all confident with your plan." Legoland’s demeanor shifted into a serious one.

Kailen nodded. "We will use the imperial clans’ desire to get in my good graces to our advantage."

"Thought as much," Legoland said. "But that’s not the whole plan, right?"

Kailen merely smirked.

"Ha! I knew it! You are cooking some diabolical scheme, aren’t you?" Legoland exclaimed.

It was a rhetorical question. He knew what Kailen had told him about the plan was just the scratch of the surface, but he didn’t probe further. As long as Kailen was able to make the impossible happen, that’s all that mattered.

"Time to leave," Kailen said.

Legoland nodded. The duo wore their rank 8 rune concealment artifacts and left the hotel.

Outside the hotel, the reporters were crowded like crazy.

To these people, Karag Anvilheart had turned into some overnight celebrity in the empire. Featuring him in their tabloids would increase engagement, and engagement would increase revenue. Naturally, because of the rank 8 runic concealment artifacts, Kailen and Legoland slipped past them without their notice.

They headed straight to the Runesmith Association.

Only after entering the association did they remove the concealment. Reporters were stalking him everywhere in the planetary district—specifically those working for the Virtual Universe Association. Kailen could not just shove them away, else it would just cause him more trouble in the future.

There was a saying that one had no option but to allow reporters from the VUA at least one interview when they came to you—at least if they had a direct encounter. Rejecting them in such a situation was not wise because the Virtual Universe Association backed them. This was why Kailen and Legoland had used the concealment artifacts to avoid a direct confrontation instead of outright rejecting them.

The moment Kailen stepped into the Runesmith Association and deactivated the artifact, several of the reporters crowded outside gnashed their teeth.

"Fuck. He slipped past us?"

"This guy is really sly."

"Let us in!"

"Just one interview with him, please!"

But the Runesmith Association security team didn’t budge. The Virtual Universe Association was a hegemon in the universe, but so was the Secondary Carrier Alliance. No one could just do as they wanted on their turf.

Kailen smiled. Fortunately, everything had worked out as he anticipated.

"Fucking reporters," he sighed inwardly.

Oblivious to his thoughts, several in the association stared at him with respect and fervor.

"Is that Mr. Anvilheart?"

"Do you think he will give me an autograph?"

"Look at his eyes. Do you think he’s in the mood to play fan favorite?"

"Heh. As expected of Mr. Anvilheart. He even managed to slip past the VUA reporters."

"Those guys are very troublesome to big shots. Serves them right."

Under several gazes and discussions, Kailen and Legoland headed towards the highest floor. They were led by a professional into an office.

The office was large, with refined sofas and antiques. It had glass walls; the sunlight of the planetary district peered through, giving the place a warm, picturesque feel. One could even see several skyscrapers sprawled below from here.

A tall female elf in an office dress, seated on a sofa, suddenly stood up when they arrived. She had an air of sophistication around her.

’So this is the head of this branch,’ Kailen thought.

The woman went to greet them. "Mr. Anvilheart and Mr..."

"Prime," Legoland replied.

The woman nodded respectfully.

So this was the famed Karag Anvilheart. He looked really young. First that Kailen Darkhaven, the former Arbiter and now this fellow. The younger generation was really taking over. This young man had even managed to enter the Hall of Fame rankings. His prospects will soar higher from here. He was really exceptional.

"Pleasure to meet you, gentlemen. Kindly follow me."

The duo followed her through a teleportation gate that led directly to the top of the highest floor. They saw a very sleek spaceship parked in a landing spot.

"This spaceship will be your guide to the imperial capital, Mr. Anvilheart. Your information and identity code has already been sent to it, so it’s already recognized you as the owner. It will guide you to the Imperial Galaxy. This was strictly the arrangement of the Association to ensure you have a smooth journey. It has a one-time rank 9 concealment runic effect. If you activate the feature, it can mask your presence from even supreme stage universe-level powerhouses. However, the moment you deactivate it, you can’t reactivate the feature again," the branch head explained.

Kailen nodded politely. "Thank you, ma’am."

Kailen and Legoland entered the spaceship. The woman stared at the retreating back of the vessel. Some sort of ethereal hue enveloped the craft, and the spaceship became invisible. It could not be seen anymore.

She had a somber look on her face. Once, she wanted to get on the Hall of Fame list. But that was a dream she could not fulfill. Seeing the young man who had accomplished this feat brought back memories.

"Also, I’m getting a promotion because he came out of this branch, after all. I hope during the Inter-Empire Secondary Carrier Alliance conference that will be happening some months from now, he will be representing us. This time, the RiverBlood Empire will not lose face again"

After these thoughts, she returned to her duties.
