He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 646. Trapped.
"This place… is this some kind of heart chamber?" Kailen's eyes flashed with terror.
"The widening of the walls could mean blood is coming here. The reddish substance that killed these guys is not digestive juices, but blood. I don't know how correct my theory is. I could be wrong. But it's the best guess I can come up with now. I need to try and find a valve or something I can latch on to."
Kailen quickly scanned his surroundings. The walls were still widening. Where he was seemed to be a dead end; there was no way he could retreat further.
"Assuming this is a dead end, this could be a ventricle. That means the only way to avoid coming into contact with the blood is forward."
He looked ahead. As the walls were widening, he saw a way ahead of him—an open path that didn't exist previously. It stretched forward infinitely, narrowing into darkness.
"The narrow way forward could lead to the valve. If I find the valve of the ventricle... that's if my theory is right. If it's not, I'm gonna die here," Kailen said.
Quickly, he dashed forward with extreme speed. He didn't stop for once. He rushed towards the opened path stretching towards the infinite darkness.
Bubble… Bubble...
As he ventured deeper into the tunnel, he heard sounds akin to rushing water. It was as if water was pooling forward from a distance.
"I need to hurry." Kailen ran with full speed.
He even utilized the Seven Phantoms movement technique—a movement technique he learnt a long time ago on Earth. Although he didn't have access to any of his abilities, a movement technique was just about understanding basic footwork. As long as he had legs, he could execute it.
Kailen turned into a phantom, darting forward quickly. The sound of rushing water became louder. Very soon, he saw something like a leaf hanging at the edge of the current place he was at. It was hanging above him, at the ceiling of the chamber like a roof.
The valves were two: one at the far right of the roof and the other at the far left. In between the valves was an empty space—some sort of opening into the chamber.
"This must be the valve. The opening is where the blood will pass through to get into this chamber."
Kailen quickly leapt upward and latched to it. He hung above, clinging to the right-sided valve with every breath. His heart beat wildly. Kailen was someone who was usually calm, even during dangerous situations, so that he could focus on making decisions that could help him survive. After all, being erratic during dangerous situations was the quickest way to cloud judgment, make the wrong choices, and die. However, even though Kailen was calm on the surface, that didn't mean he was not nervous.
If he died, that was the end.
The sound of rushing water drew nearer. Then, it happened. Something extremely viscous poured into the chamber through the center of the opening. It was very reddish. At this moment, Kailen was still clinging to the roof of the chamber, holding the valve, his body completely intertwined with it.
Watching the reddish liquid pour into the chamber, Kailen felt an instinctive threat encumber him. He knew that if he ever came into contact with this blood, he would die without even realizing it.
What sort of deadly and gigantic creature was he in? The fellow must be so colossal to a point where a heart chamber can be mistaken for a cave. Kailen observed as the blood poured into the chamber.
"Please don't rise." He was praying that the blood wouldn't rise to a level where it reached the valve and the ceiling.
Very soon, the blood ceased movement. The flow into the chamber also stopped. Then, he heard cracking sounds again. The right and left valves started extending towards the center. Kailen even noticed that the walls of the chamber seemed to be drawing closer to one another.
"It is closing. I should take my chances and leave this place. I don't know what is beyond, but I have to risk it."
Kailen gritted his teeth. Using the Seven Phantoms movement technique, he propelled himself from the right valve towards the now narrow opening between the two valves. It was a few moments from disappearing, as the two valves were almost about connecting to one another. The moment he went through the opening, the valves closed.
Kailen didn't let his guard down. He studied where he was. He suddenly landed in a very soft and wet place. Water kept overflowing around him. He looked around; the place had long, thin, soft strips hanging down. The strips moved constantly, swaying every time water flowed through them. The whole space was tight, but it was also alive, like he was inside something breathing.
It wasn't blood. It wasn't open water either. Just a strange, enclosed chamber inside a living creature.
"I'm in the gill chamber of a fish. A very ginormous one," Kailen thought.
Before Kailen could process anything or think, everything changed. A strong pull came from one direction. The water began rushing faster than before, all moving the same way. The thin red tissue hanging in rows swayed with the water. It was as if the entire space was being opened.
He was dragged along with it. He could change nothing. He was powerless, helpless, dragged along by the current. Kailen passed through the moving, red wet strips, pushed forward by the current he couldn't resist. Ahead, he saw a brighter opening.
Light. Real open light ahead.
"That must be the gill opening. But how the hell am I going to handle this creature when I get out of its body assuming it tries to kill me?" Kailen thought. "Forget it. I'm sure I can use the Law of Space when I am outside of its body. I will just run away the moment I touch the sea, or wherever it is."
Then, with a sudden surge of water, he was forced out—and the tight, living chamber vanished behind him as he entered open water again.
Kailen felt everything change the moment he entered open water. The universe energy density was very high compared to inside the being's body. However, he didn't let his guard down. Kailen looked around him.
He saw it: the part where he had come out of. The gill opening area of the creature's body. It was as large as a mountain. He didn't even try to look at the rest of the creature's body.
"Shit," he cursed inwardly. "My law better work."
Kailen quickly activated the Law of Space. He melded with the void.
"It worked," Kailen thought.
He reappeared again, his figure materializing from the void. Currently, he appeared on some sort of mountain peak. He looked around him. There was only the sea. There was only water.
He scanned the region with his perception—which was working again alongside his Law of Space after he came out of the body of the colossal fish—and what he picked up sent chills down his spine.
"Intermediate-stage universe-level sentient sea creatures. They are all like that bastard I was trapped inside. Also, there's only water for as far as my perception can travel. Even if I warp space and leave here, I estimate that with how far I can warp space now, I will still be in this region."
"The only option for me is to stay on this mountain peak and grow strong enough and access the situation again. If with my enhanced perception after breaking through to the intermediate-stage universe level, water is still all I can see, I will have to take the risk of using the Law of Space to venture forward. Perhaps, leaving this region might be the way to complete this simulation. Guess I'll have to slaughter any sea creature I can handle if I encounter any as I venture forward to leave this region. But seriously, never thought I'd be one day trapped in the middle of an ocean."
