Chapter 647: Chapter 647. Daunting Situation

Quietly, he sat down.

"This is gonna be very slow without elemental mirroring," Kailen sighed. "Might take years. I might sit here for a very long time; at least two centuries won’t be an understatement."

A glint of determination flashed through Kailen’s eyes. He started absorbing universe energy into his cells. The density of universe energy on the mountain peak was fairly dense. Kailen sat there motionless, immersed in cultivation.

Ten years went by in a flash. He had not made any breakthroughs. Without elemental mirroring and an environment of very high universe energy density, he was just like any regular genius awakener when it came to cultivation speed. Kailen expected this.

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open.

He looked ahead. Somewhere in the ocean, the currents were rising. Vibrations shook the mountain he was on; though, the mountain stood. Kailen suddenly saw something extremely terrifying. Two colossal sea creatures rose from the depths of the ocean: one was a giant shark; the other was an extremely ginormous eel. They were both rank 5 intermediate-stage universe-level creatures. The current Kailen would not even survive a single law attack from either of them.

For some reason, the two sea creatures clashed.

Waves rose and shockwaves spread all over. An ethereal, piercing feeling spread across the whole place. The eel transformed into waves of lightning that spread across the area. At the same time, a majestic, streamlike feeling spread as the colossal shark transformed into a tornado of water. The waves of lightning and the tornado of water crashed into each other. Kailen felt the mountain he was cultivating on shake violently.

"Damn it!" He held firmly to a crevice to ensure he was not somersaulted off the mountain. This mountain had no caves. Its base led to the sea, and there were no other mountains in the region. This was the only place he was literally safe. If he lost control of his footing and lost access to the mountain, he would be doomed.

Kailen held firmly to the crevice as he observed the battle between the sea creatures. The waves of lightning and the tornado crushed into each other over and over again. It seemed the sea creatures were at a stalemate.

"This territory belongs to me!" The shark, now the tornado of water, bellowed.

"You think I care? I’ve been slumbering here for thousands of years. Your appearance interrupted my cultivation. I was in a state of Enlightenment and you ruined it. For that, even if we are in a stalemate, none of us will have a bit of peace of mind. We will fight till you leave this place!" The eel, the wave of lightning, bellowed.

"So they are fighting over this territory?" Kailen thought.

Some of the seawater washed over him as he still held firmly to the mountain peak. The water washing over him was a result of the shockwaves the fight between the two beasts generated. Kailen suddenly squinted his eyes.

"The seawater? The universe energy density in the seawater is extremely dense. I read in some articles that there are certain sea regions with extremely dense universe energy. When very strong sea creatures die, the universe energy stored in their beings is released into the sea. If this process happens over and over again, the sea region becomes more dense with universe energy than other places." A glint flashed through Kailen’s eyes. "It seems I’m going to benefit from the fight between these two fuckers."

Although his current situation was dangerous, the sea waves that washed over him contained universe energy denser than what he had been cultivating with on the mountain.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The battle between the two behemoths continued. Kailen gritted his teeth. He didn’t let go of the narrow mountain peak. His situation was very dangerous, but he held on. The sea waves rose and bellowed, crashing into him occasionally. It was very excruciating. However, instead of showing pain, he had an elated grin on his face. The universe energy in the seawater that washed over him was helping his cultivation more than the energy he had absorbed these last ten years from the mountain peak.

Kailen kept absorbing the universe energy in the seawater that washed over him as he held onto the mountain peak with all his might. At certain times, the shockwaves were so much that he would almost slip and fall off. However, he managed to regain his hold.

"Aren’t you tired?" The eel bellowed. "Leave!"

The shark replied, "Insolence! Didn’t you say you wanted to fight? Let’s fight!"

"Tsk!" The eel replied in annoyance. "As you wish!"

Boom. Boom. Boom.

They kept clashing over and over again. At some point, some weaker sea creatures fled the area of their battle. Some of them were now circling right beneath the mountain peak Kailen was on. These sea creatures preferred the water; it was their natural habitat, after all. Else, they would have probably made for the mountain peak, and considering how strong they were, Kailen would have been dead by now.

Kailen naturally saw the sea creatures circling in the water below. A chill crawled up his spine. If he let go, he would be fucked.

"I don’t plan on letting go."

He kept absorbing the universe energy from the seawater that crushed into him. How long had he been cultivating and how long had he been in this precarious situation? Kailen didn’t even have the luxury to keep track of time.

"Let’s look on the bright side. This same situation is helping me. The universe energy density in my cells has increased greatly thanks to the seawater."

At that moment, the waves crashed into him again. But this time, something hit Kailen, disorienting his senses. The feeling was as if a train had slammed into a non-awakener.

"Shit... a sea creature?" Kailen held the mountain peak firmly, his hand regaining its hold. A ginormous sea creature was floating on the mountain peak. It must have been swept to this place through the sea waves.

"If I activate the Law of Space, I might attract the attention of these sentient beasts. Also, I don’t know if those two duking it out will suddenly pay attention to me. But I don’t have a choice. I can only risk it. This sea creature will kill me if I don’t attack," Kailen decided.
