He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 649. Completion
Kailen melded with space and reappeared again at a different place on the sea.
All he saw was water. During this period, he slaughtered several sea creatures who came looking for his trouble and stored them in his secret realm. Kailen was in thought as he travelled on the sea.
"What sort of situation could lead to finding yourself in the body of a ginormous sea creature? Wait..." A glint of realization flashed through Kailen’s eyes.
Kailen muttered, "ThunderHill empire academy, huh. It’s either they were on an academy mission or... it’s some sort of trial which involves hunting for beasts that led them into that situation. It could also be that an entirely different situation led to that outcome but I lean more towards the first two. Well, technically in this simulation, I woke up among them so I’m supposed to be part of the group that I found dead in the heart chamber of the sea creature. What the hell is up with the Olden Era? If this is really some sort of academy trial, then the methods of the ThunderHill Empire Academy or the organizations in the Olden Era used to groom awakeners were really ruthless."
"What’s the actual purpose of this simulation?" Kailen thought. "I see. Even if I spent 6 months in the pocket world I would not have broken through to the rank 2 intermediate stage universe level. This simulation has one rare advantage :Time. I have spent 220 years in this simulation. This is enough time for geniuses to have breakthroughs at the universe level. Of course, the daunting experiences strengthened my resolve to survive, fueling my determination to cultivate. But, on a serious note, I could die at any moment. This time dilation artifact can be very ruthless. But, there is no such thing as a free meal in this world."
Kailen melded with space, reappeared at different places on the sea, killed meddlesome sea creatures and kept them in his secret realm. This process went on over and over again. This cycle went on for an extremely long time.
But Kailen didn’t complain. If there was one thing he could exercise in situations, it was patience. Throwing tantrums and complaining would not change anything.
Kailen activated the law of space. Spatial fluctuations spread across. Kailen observed the surrounding region and beyond. His eyes squinted slightly. "An Island?"
The island was located at an extremely distant place. Kailen decided to get a clearer view. There were sentient lifeforms on the island!
Kailen sighed with relief. Although he didn’t know what these fellows were up to, it was worth it to check out the place. Kailen melded with space and disappeared.
*****
Spatial fluctuations spread across the whole place. A figure suddenly seemed to have been spat out of space.
The individuals at the Western Sea Shore of the Island could not help but look at the individual. He was a Black haired fellow with void like eyes, pitch black hair. He was tall with an athletic build, clad in silk like shirts, jeans and shoes.
Kailen also looked at the fellows staring back at him. Each one of them were wearing clothes similar to his own. Some of them were males. Some were females. All of them were from different races.
"State your business." A burly fellow radiating an intimidating aura, floated towards him.
Kailen’s eyes quilted lightly as he saw the Thunder Hill Empire Academy badge on the man’s chest. Quickly, he took out his own. The moment the man saw it, his pressure receded.
"Are you part of the platinum students trial takers?" he asked.
"So my theory was spot on. It was some sort of academy trial," Kailen thought. "Beginner stage universe level students were sent into a region full of Intermediate stage universe level sea creatures as a trial? The training methods of this Thunder Hill Empire Academy, or to be more precise the olden era, was really ruthless."
These thoughts flashed through Kailen’s mind in a moment.
He replied, "Yes. I am part of the trial takers sir. I was the only one among my team who survived."
The man nodded as if it was normal. "Everyone who takes a trial to become a platinum student at our academy knows the risks. Their deaths are within expectations." He added, "You know you’ve not passed the trial if you just survive right? You need to return with proof that you passed."
A glint of realisation flashed through Kailen’s mind.
"Oh right. Sea creatures. A good thing I killed some of them," Kailen thought.
About a hundred corpses of intermediate stage universe level sea creatures appeared on the floor. They filled up the whole shore. Everyone was completely shocked. Even the man who asked for proof of trial completion could not process what he was looking at.
This fellow. How many did he kill?
Kailen naturally didn’t bother reading into their expressions. He was just waiting for the simulation to end. It was obvious that the completion requirement for the simulation, which was for him to return to this island with proof of the trial completion, was fulfilled. Although he didn’t specifically know this completion requirement earlier, he had fulfilled it anyway. It had all worked out for the better.
"Let’s return!" The man’s voice rang across the place.
His voice was directed at everyone on the island. It seemed all those on the island were all students who took the trial and had returned. Some had sullen expressions. Others were beaming with smiles and chatter. Those who had sullen expressions were obviously those who managed to survive but didn’t pass.
Very soon, a very large ship which looked like it was from the steampunk era appeared in the sky. The ship looked like some sort of balloon.
Kailen sent the corpses of the sea creatures back into his secret realm. Alongside the others, he entered the large ship.
"So this was the olden era’s version of our current spaceships huh," Kailen thought.
The Spaceship bolted off.
Several weeks later, they passed through a very large teleportation gate and appeared on top of a very bustling city. Kailen observed through the spaceship. The city looked very ancient. It was nothing like the futuristic Civilisations of Kailen’s era.
"This time must be way back in the olden era. Probably way before the olden war between the races and the vimodials ocurred," Kailen thought.
"Finally, we’ve returned back to the academy planet," someone muttered. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"I can’t believe I’m a platinum student now, and I survived."
"Yeah, tell me about it," another person sighed.
Suddenly, Kailen’s surroundings dissipated. He was no longer in a spaceship, neither was there any bustling city below. He was standing in a random place in the pocket world.
[Simulation completed.
Revealing rewards...]
"Finally," Kailen sighed in relief.
