Heaven Refining physique-Chapter 229: Lower World Status
Deng Xi really meant it. She had sacrificed thousands of years of cultivation just to descend into this world.
There were some treasures which could be used to deceive the heavens, but even the sect she had once belonged to in the upper realm didn’t possess anything like that, so it was impossible to even think of having one.
But nonetheless, it didn’t matter. If she could get her hands on Ming Yue, then everything would be worth it.
She was one of the strongest cultivators of her time in this world, but when she ascended, she had become nothing... no doubt, the sects of the upper world valued talents from the lower worlds.
Everyone who was able to ascend through all perils was commendable in their eyes, but that didn’t mean they didn’t feel superior in front of you.
She had felt countless gazes that looked upon her like she was some lowly being. She had never felt accepted, just because of her lower-world status.
Not to mention, there were many talented cultivators in the upper world due to its sheer size and population. The fact that not a single person there was mortal showed how much advantage they had.
But there was one thing which was the cause of envy even for the strongest cultivators in the upper realm, and they were willing to give up their cultivation realm to obtain it — the special constitution of Heavenly Grade.
Everyone tried to find them, although the chances of possession were even less than ten percent, as Heaven obstructed such acts, especially for Heavenly physiques. If they succeeded, than they will have chance to reach Dao Ancestor level — the peak of the cultivation path.
Who wouldn’t want to be counted among the strongest people in the whole upper realm? Just imagining the amount of respect one would gain in every world was enough for most people to risk possession.
Deng Xi couldn’t help but sigh. To think that she would find one of these physiques in her previous mortal world... there were two, in fact.
Her goal was to possess Ming Yue, and now that she had knowledge about her, she would do anything to achieve it. She was about to head to the Eastern Region, but since they had come to the Central Region by themselves, there was no need to go anywhere.
She would do anything to find them. If any of these sects, clans, or pavilions refused to listen, then she would destroy them.
Deng Xi stood up and disappeared. She didn’t know if Yan Zu had received this information or not, but since they were going to work together, she decided to meet him.
The Central Region was vast. Although they had already ascended and were only as strong as any mortal beast with a good bloodline of their cultivation realm, it would still be better to work together.
...
Months passed, but there was no information about where Jiang Hao and the others were.
Deng Xi and Yan Zu scoured the whole area around the path from Tide Wind City to the Central Region, but they found nothing. Every city in the Central Region was being watched by some large sects, clans, and pavilions, yet they found no trace.
"Damn it! Where the hell are they hiding? Have they entered the forbidden zone again?" Deng Xi cursed loudly as she stared toward the deeper region ruled by unknown beasts.
Yan Zu sighed, "This region is too vast. We two won’t be able to search if they really went into the forbidden zones. Sending others to do so is just asking them to kill themselves."
"Wouldn’t that mean that Jiang Hao and Ming Yue are already dead? I don’t know how they survived the forbidden zone in the Eastern Region, but these zones are far more dangerous. Curse it!" Deng Xi truly wanted to kill even Jing Han now. If only that bastard had revealed this information earlier, she would have easily captured them.
"I don’t know. I heard they had the Truth Seeker, which could answer any question as long as you provided some specifications before. Now even that thing is gone... you know how valuable a treasure like that can be, right?" Yan Zu was far calmer than Deng Xi, but that was just his personality. Inside, he too was fuming at his sect.
"What should we do?" Deng Xi knew that blaming wouldn’t help. They needed some clue.
"What can we do? Unless they make another appearance, it’s impossible to even know if they’re alive or not. We can only hope they are, or else we’ve wasted our cultivation realm for nothing.
Once we go back to the upper world, our standing will be at the bottom again, and many bastards will love to mock us," Yan Zu said while shaking his head. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Deng Xi’s expression turned worse.
"Let’s leave. There’s nothing we can do. Just hope they make some move again... even if they go into hiding after that, at least we’ll know they have the means to survive. It’ll be a good outcome," Yan Zu said and disappeared.
Deng Xi looked one last time at the vast expanse of forest filled with mountains before she disappeared as well.
...
Four more months passed.
In the outer area of the Central Region, there was a village. It looked very ordinary, and the fact it had survived until now in the outer regions was already a miracle. Maybe the forest was too scarce here for beasts to come.
Jiang Hao was standing on top of a wooden house he had built in this village for himself and senior Yao Ying. The villagers were quite kind; they had accepted them as their own.
Jiang Hao went into the forest daily to hunt spirit beasts for them. In four months of constantly absorbing spirit stones, he had reached the mid-stage of the Nascent Soul Realm, but he still had a long way to go.
There was a city nearby, and today he decided to visit it. He wanted to gather some information about what was happening in the Central Region.
If his plan of pulling all attention toward him had worked, then the entire human area of the Central Region might already be under watch.
He jumped off the roof and teleported about eighty miles away...
