Heir of Mana:Beast made king-Chapter 64: Under Attack (2)

As the carriage door swung open, they came face-to-face with their enemies

Men and women who all looked to have no relation to each other apart from the black masks they were wearing

They were, without a doubt bandits

A man and woman who had no more ambition than to steal from others, whether they be rich or poor

They were truly disgraces

Or maybe they did want to make something of themselves, but due to their circumstances, they ended up in this deplorable occupation.

But whatever the case, it was clear to at least everyone except for them, apparently, that they had just forfeited their lives when they decided to stop this carriage

While Nova and everyone else immediately got into fighting positions

Eva drew her bow, ready to release an arrow into any of their heads at any moment

Skylar grabbed the twin daggers at his side and shifted his stance, pivoting his legs forward so he could move with all his strength at a moment’s notice to remove a head from its body.

Nova had already picked up her war hammer, slung it over her shoulder, taking on all its weight, which to her looked effortless, which was astounding as her body didn’t look to have nearly that much strength.

But as they say, looks can be deceiving

But there were two out of the group that got in no such position to fight because as soon as Azrael and Olivia stepped foot outside the carriage, they paid no attention to the enemies in front of them

Instead, they turned and began to walk towards the front of the carriage instead

The ones here weren’t worth their time, not when they sensed someone mildly more

Interesting at the front

But this action didn’t fail to cause a reaction. How could it not when there was such a thing as pride in this world?

Seeing the two of them walking away, one of the bandits couldn’t resist the call of death as he opened his mouth to speak

"And where the fuck do you think you two are going, huh? Getting scared, so you’re trying to run away, hoping we won’t notice you? Is that it? Well, it looks like you’re shit out of luck...."

But his sentence was abruptly stopped as while he was running his garbage heap of a mouth he was also walking towards them and this could have been the single stupidest thing that he could have done in that moment

As the last thing he saw was, no he didn’t see it he felt it as a pressure on his neck like an entire drake horse was slammed into him but all the force was directed to his neck alone

He could not breathe, or see but one thing he could do at least for now was move his body but he didn’t even have to do this as instinct took over and did it for him

His hands shot up to grip his own neck or whatever was holding onto it and what it felt was a warm stone-like material no it was clear it was soft it was just that his weak hands could feel none of this softness.

And just as quickly as his hands rose they fell along with his entire body, hitting the ground with a wet hard thump.

And while he didn’t know how he died everyone else knew, everyone else saw Azrael’s hand shoot out grabbing onto his neck before simply squeezing popping his head from his body and this all happened in no less than two seconds

After this.... Incident?

No other bandit stepped up to stop them not just because of the sheer strength that he showed but also because they believed that they could all take him down, if they simply worked together

No it was the indifference by which he did it, neither of them turned their heads to look at the man as he was dying, or even seemed to care that they had been covered in his blood.

They just continued to walk letting nothing impede their steps or stop their stride. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

And so no one stopped them from going

If anything the bandits were now deciding if they should retreat but before they could even form a concrete thought a giant golden barrier was formed behind them blocking their retreat

At least from the back

This barrier was put up by none other than Nova who had now begun walking towards them

She had seen what had just happened but to be honest, she was far too upset to care or be shocked, these people had just interrupted her time with her thoughts, and now she couldn’t even remember what she was going to make when she got to town.

And she was Sure it would have been great or at the very least not bad but now she had lost it because of them

They had to pay

Making their way to the front of the carriage they arrived right as the fight at the back was starting.

They came to see that the battle at the front had been started and was in the midst of being won

There were only five people left out of the twenty that Nova had said there had been

But they knew that she wasn’t lying as not only could they sense them too but they also saw the countless bodies littering the floor

The blond-haired woman they had come to know as Selena was throwing out lightning spells like flowers

She managed to finish off two of five right as they arrived at the front

Mia the brown-skinned woman who had originally opened the carriage doors for them was seen standing in a circle of body’s that was layed down around her

She had what looked to be a fire sword within her hand, she was clearly staggering she must have been tired.

And finally

Kyro the man they had spoken to first out of everyone was still in the if it’s of battle with the remaining three enemies

His gauntlets were barred within one of their chests before he started using the one dead body as a shield from the attacks of the others

He was now facing two men one of them with a sword and the other with a scythe

To Azreal and Olivia, the one with the scythe was the only one worth their attention but unexpectedly

Disappointing both of them

He died first

Yes he was stronger than the rest but his chances of surviving or even putting up a good fight were significantly reduced as he chose a weapon he clearly had no synergy with

His moves were sluggish, unrefined, and just plain stupid and so he had his skull crushed by kyro

With him dead Azreal and Olivia lost all will to fight in this pointless fight so instead they just began to watch the fight between the man with the sword and kyro

As it was mildly entertaining

But all of a sudden Olivia pulled her pitch-black dadao from within her shadow before throwing it at a bush

Striking an archer right between the eyes killing him before he could take the shot

Which made all others in the forest immediately give up any chance of helping their comrades

Ultimately choosing to flee instead

Sensing that the others had left Olivia began to walk towards the body in the bushes, every step she took she swayed her hips

Turning her simple walk into something of an erotic dance simply for the fact that she knew that Azreal was watching her

And as she had come to learn she loved to put on a show for him

By the time she grabbed the sword and came back to his side kyro had finished his fight

Killing the sword man with a punch that without a doubt shook his heart.

And coincidentally that was also the same time that Nova, Skylar, and Eva finished their fight and came to see what was happening at the front of the carriage.
