Hellbound With The Vampire King-Chapter 109: Turn Of Event
Chapter 109: Turn Of Event
"Was the idea supposed to be that we look like Power Rangers or something?" Caspian asked with a wide innocent grin on his face and everyone in the room, who heard his words laughed out loud.
His words though funny made the whole situation look light and the tensed room went back to the earlier joyful chatters.
Ava seeing this glared at Caspian. She gave a huff when she saw the way he interacted with Serena as if they were close friends, she could not stand it and eventually went back to her assigned chair with her three musketeers trailing after her, leaving Caspian with Serena.
"My lady, do you mind if I sit with you?" Caspian asked when the girls left and Serena gestured that he could sit on the empty chair beside her.
The man gave her a smile when he sat down, "Need I say you look beautiful in the dress by the way." Serena heard him say beside her and she gave him a smile of gratitude.
"Thanks and thank you for what you did back there." Serena said. She could easily tell that he did that to break the ice in the room and now everything was back to the way it was.
When the man settled in the chair beside her, she turned to meet his gaze and asked, "Where is Eiravyn?" She had tried looking around the room to see if she could spot him somewhere but he was no where in sight and she could not help but wonder where he was.
"He should be here in a minute," he replied.
And it was then, Serena visibly relaxed her tense shoulders and trembling feet. She relaxed herself to listen to the sad melody that was being played at the corner in the raised platform.
There a lady in red flowing gown with pale skin played with a violin. The music that was being played was sad and Serena wondered who had chosen the song.
She looked up in time to see Eiravyn entering the room from the stairs and then a loud voice echoed around the rooom and the music drawled to a stop.
"All rise! His Majesty King Eiravyn of Darkshade Kingdom have arrived."
The moment the announcement was made the room lapsed in total silent. And all eyes in the ballroom turned to look at the handsome young king, making his way through the grand stairs and Serena was not left out.
Even though she had seen him earlier, she still found him breathtaking and the most beautiful man she had ever laid eyes upon. Donned in a velvet deep, midnight crimson tunic, embroidered with intricate golden threads that shimmered under the cascading chandeliers like stars. She saw how his cold red eyes darkened as his gaze drifted around the room before it settled on her.
Few Minutes Ago. In The King’s Study.
After Eiravyn left Serena in the royal house. He went straight to his study after he had mind-linked his right-hand that he wanted to see him.
The talk with the high priest did not go nearly the way he had planned and instead more revelations was left untold. What was Serena true identity? And who was the man in black?
Eiravyn knew now that looking for his mother or father was a waste of time because he knew his mother will only reveal herself when she felt the time was right.
He groaned as he made his way to his study chair, he could hear the music that was to his taste which he enjoyed the most played even from he room. He picked up a parchment letter he was studying a while back before leaving for the royal court to study as he waited for his right hand.
"Eiravyn, when will you be making your presence known?" asked Caspian immediately he entered the king study, making his way for him to stand in the front of Eiravyn’s table.
"I will when it’s time. Right now, there’s something I would like you to do."
Caspian stood straight when he saw the look on Eiravyn’s face, "Did something bad happen with the High Priest again?" His red eyes darkened as he looked at his king, while waiting for his response.
"Let’s see," hummed Eiravyn as he set the parchment aside that contained list of suspect who could possible be involve in plotting against him while he was away in the human realm, "I believe the person controlling the turned vampires might not actually be after me but Serena."
"What? Is it because she’s not human? Are they trying to use her to get to you?" Caspian asked.
"No. That is not the case. She’s in fact not human, I doubt if they know what she actually is, it looks like there’s still a traitor in the kingdom," he paused and glanced at the papers on the table that needed his signature.
"Whoever controls the turned vampires either have a powerful witch working with them or he’s like me, a vampire and a wizard."
Caspian flinched, "Are you suggesting that someone in the Silvertia Flame coven is backing them?" He wondered because he only knew three extremely powerful witch who could do this.
"That is just my theory for now, base on what I sensed from the man today, but there’s something I need you to do for me." Eiravyn finally said, and Caspian bowed his head to recieve his king order.
"Heed my words, Caspian. You would be going to the human realm before the day breaks tomorrow. Whatever you can do you must do it. But I want Serena’s grandparents here before we return from Alpha Drayce’s birthday ceremony next week."
Caspian groaned frustratedly, "Eiravyn I would love to go as my love interest stays there, but I just got back. Why don’t we have Zeke, the bodyguard in the human realm bring them here. I also will like to attend the birthday celebration, the invite was not extended for the king alone but for his right hand as well." Caspian grumbled.
