Chapter 161: Facing Your Fears

Richie was devastated—he didn’t know what to do. He’d already started his cycle again and it was going to be worse.

Roger couldn’t help but see that there was something wrong next door when he saw Doug storm out and almost take the gate off the hinges. He walked next door to see what he could do.

"It’s not a good time. Richie is in high cycle according to Lex, and the only way it can be stopped is he must conceive," Constantine stopped Roger. "Doug, when confronted with the possibility of becoming a father for the first time, just walks off. Shaking his head, he said he had to think. Richie doesn’t have that luxury—his body is driving him mad. He has to breed."

"Just keep Richie in the house, corral him up, don’t let him do anything. I’m going to talk to Roger—we go back ways before we ever arrived here, either of us," Constantine instructed.

Roger finally caught up with Doug just before he walked in the door of his cottage. Doug didn’t know Roger was behind him until Roger slammed the door shut.

"You arrogant prick, what the hell are you doing walking off from Richie like that when he needs you the most?" Roger confronted him. "I seem to remember a certain young Genman crying his eyes out, holding his stomach, stressing about what his boyfriend did one night. You weren’t given a choice and neither has Richie. But the difference between you two is you’re a fucking jerk."

"Dammit Doug, he loves you. It’s happening really quick—yes, you were supposed to wait a little over a year before you were to start your family, give you two time to get used to each other, but plans change. Do you think he had this planned in the back of his mind? This kind of medical condition is so rare. Really, you’re not worthy of him. He needs to go out and find somebody else that will take care of his problem and then he can raise their child."

"Roger, it’s hard. I love him and yes, I want to be with him, but a baby this soon. I have to be sure," Doug replied.

"Sure about what? That you’re man enough to become a father and stick with it? That he loves you more than anything? Or the fact that you don’t think you’re worthy of this precious gift of a child?" Roger shot back.

"Don’t make me kick your ass—as we both know I can take you. When I got you down, I just might decide to fuck you and knock your bitch ass up again. Not what I want to do—I want to have a child by Chas. What’s it going to take for you to wake up?"

"Now Doug, do I bring Richie over here so that you two can solve this, and he can live a normal life with you, or do I tell him just to go out behind the barn and take whoever will pump a load into him? Your choice."

The two talked for almost an hour. Every time Doug would say one thing, Roger would throw it right back into his face and give him a thousand reasons why he should. Doug was not going to win this fight.

Roger walked up to Constantine’s door and knocked on it. Constantine opened the door and let him in, then asked him how everything was going.

"Well, I got a one-way ticket to the conception express—no deviations, no stops, no regrets. I just have to know somebody willing to take the ride," Roger announced.

"Just how in the hell did you manage that, may I ask?" Constantine inquired.

"Well, let’s say he didn’t like the idea of getting the shit beat out of him and then me fucking him and telling everybody that I knocked his dumbass up. Plus, he wouldn’t get to raise my son—I’d take him with me," Roger explained.

Constantine started laughing so hard he couldn’t breathe. "You did what?"

"We knew each other years ago, and I listened to him bawl and squall when the incident happened with him—all the entire nine months as his belly got as huge as the house, he cried. I was there beside him, I was there to tell him everything was going to be okay, and I let him know that he didn’t have a choice that time because of the stupid stuff he did. But Richie has no choice because of the genetic flaw in his DNA that is very rare. Nobody was trying to trap him, nobody was trying to make him look stupid, nobody was trying to do anything to poor Doug. In other words, bitch quit having a pity party, get the fuck up and man up. And it worked—he wants to know if we can bring Richie over in about an hour after he makes ready everything at the house."

"And I suppose that’s going to be a yes unless Richie’s changed his mind, because I told him to get his nasty ass cleaned up and that place cleaned up and ready for a child," Constantine added.

Richie cleared his throat. "Thank you, Roger. I didn’t realize you were that good a friend to Doug. He just doesn’t realize how lucky he is, and yes, I am going over there so he can lay with me and I will produce a child. I don’t want to force him to do anything that he doesn’t want to do."

"Richie, he’s a little gun shy—it happened too quick. He thought he had a little more time to get used to it, but he does love you. You’re all he talks about. In fact, he’s driving all of us at the warehouse insane with ’Richie this’ and ’Richie that’—’Richie is so cute,’ ’Richie is so funny,’ ’Richie’s so adorable,’ and Richie, Richie, Richie," Roger commented.

Richie started laughing. "I do need to clean up a little bit—I’m not quite fresh enough. It also wouldn’t hurt to put a little love motion lotion on my vent from Lex." He went back to the bathroom to make himself ready.

"Constantine, do you need me to walk with you when Richie’s ready, or do I need to go back to the house?" Roger asked.

"You’ve done quite enough, Roger. Thank you. I can handle it from here—it’s not that far, plus no one is going to mess with me when it comes to walking Richie to Doug’s place," Constantine replied.

Roger walked back over to see Chas before he went home. He sat down on the sofa and gave Chas a good kiss. Xavier, who was walking and talking now, ran up to Roger, patted him on his belly and announced, "Father baby, daddies’ baby, brother."

Donnie stood there with his mouth wide open—his grandson just told everybody, if he wasn’t mistaken, that Roger was pregnant.

Chas and Roger nearly crapped all over themselves. Xavier just let the cat out of the bag in front of his granddad.

"Excuse me, what did Xavier just say out loud?" Donnie demanded.

"He said that his father is going to have a baby. Yes, Roger is pregnant, so have a seat, granddaddy," Chas looked at his dad and politely replied.

Donnie hollered for Stephen to get into the living room right now. Stephen entered the living room and asked what the hell was up now.

"Roger is uhm..."

"Go ahead and say it," Stephen interrupted. "You mean Roger is pregnant and it’s Chas’s baby. Hey, here’s a newsflash—Xavier’s been saying this for the last week, you just haven’t been paying attention. ’Father baby, father baby, father baby.’ Sometimes, dude, to be so smart, you are very dense when it comes to biogenetics."
