Her Dark Desires-Chapter 19: Marvelous Advantages.

Zachary’s confession made Eliana speechless, even though that was what she wanted to hear. A phone call broke the intense moment and Zach sighed when he saw who was calling.

"Give me a minute, I need to answer this." Zach took a step back to answer the call.

Eliana turned back to the mirror, placed a hand on her chest, and whispered to herself, "Calm down." But those words didn’t stop her heart from racing.

"My mom wants to take you out shopping and insisted you spend the day with her, which means I don’t get to see you until tomorrow when we say I do."

"Your Mom?" Eliana asked, surprised that Charlotte wanted to spend the day with her.

"You don’t want to?"

"No, it’s not that. I’m just surprised she wants to spend the day with me. I thought she hated me." Eliana said.

"My mom doesn’t hate you, Eli. Use this opportunity to bond with her."

"Okay."

Zach looked at her and said, "So I guess I will see you tomorrow then." He grinned mischievously "Good thing I have collected my dues."

"Zach!" Eliana suddenly became flustered as she remembered all that they had done in the bathroom.

Zach laughed and replied "I love it when you blush. Your cheeks become all red like a tomato."

"Stop teasing me and go get my apple pie, I’m starting to feel hungry."

Zach chuckled and replied, "Yes ma."

Zach was about to open the door when he suddenly stopped and said "I meant what I said, Eli. I know the Moore doesn’t treat you right because you are not related to them by blood, but after our marriage, you don’t need to worry about them anymore because I will be your family. I will protect you and our little one."

Eliana smiled and asked, "Is that a promise?"

Zach turned back to look at her as he said firmly "It’s a promise."

Hearing the firmness in his words made guilt grip her heart. Should she tell him now that she isn’t the adopted daughter of the Moore now or later? At first, she thought it wasn’t important because even her parents denied her birthright and treated her as an adopted child. Her parents had announced to everyone that she was adopted, and they even had her adoption paper, so she didn’t really bother telling anyone the truth, but now, perhaps it is right for her to tell him. At least Zach should know that she isn’t an adopted child.

"Zach, there is something I need to tell you." Eliana started but was interrupted by his phone ringing again.

Zach brought out his phone from his pocket and said, "It’s my mom, I’m sure she is calling to know if we will soon reach the mansion, if only she knows we haven’t left the bedroom. Get dressed while I answer this."

"But....."

"We will talk later," Zach said as he answered the call and left the room.

Eliana sighed and said to herself "It wouldn’t be a big deal, right? Knowing Zach, he would be angry that I didn’t tell him sooner, but then I’m sure before the day ends, he would have gotten over his anger, so yeah, it shouldn’t be a big deal. I can just tell him tomorrow after the wedding but then again I don’t want him to be angry with me on our wedding day so I will tell him after tomorrow. Yes, after tomorrow I will tell Zach that I am the biological daughter of Henry and Sloane Moore. But why do I feel so nervous?"

Charlotte asking her to go shopping was surprising but what was even more surprising was the way the woman smiled whenever they came across a baby outfit.

"You must like babies," Eliana said in an attempt to make conversation with her future mother-in-law.

"Only the ones related to me by blood," Charlotte replied.

Eliana just smiled and had no idea how to continue the conversation until she heard her saying, "I heard your parents returned the invitation card."

"Oh. Ryan must have told you."

"So does that mean they won’t be attending your wedding?" Charlotte asked.

"I guess so," Eliana replied as she saw Charlotte selecting another baby’s clothes with a smile on her face.

"Do you blame them?"

"For what? Sending back the invitation?"

"By your tone, I would say you do blame them, but to be honest, I don’t blame them. If my adopted daughter were to steal the man my biological child was to marry, I would have done worse than just send back the invitation card. They took you in, clothed you, fed you, and gave you their name that was able to open doors for you, but you repaid them by taking their daughter’s fiance and even getting pregnant for him, it tells you are something, Eliana."

"Did you ask me here to criticize me?"

"I want you to sign a prenup," Charlotte said. "To be honest, I still question how my son was able to fall for someone of a questionable character. Zach has always been intelligent since he was young, but with you, it feels as if he is no longer capable of thinking, but it doesn’t matter since he has his mother to think these things for him."

"I refuse."

"You refuse?" Charlotte asked with a cold smile as she landed her gaze on Eliana.

"I know your kind, Eliana. You are a child with no roots and perhaps got jealous of Amber, so you decided to steal her man and get pregnant for him. You must feel you have hit the jackpot, right? But let me tell you this, you may be getting married to Zachary Sanders tomorrow but it doesn’t mean you are a Sanders, the only one I have accepted is that child in your womb and one day Zach will see that a woman who was capable of biting the hand that has fed her for many years isn’t capable of being his wife."

Even though Eliana felt hurt by her words, she still forced a smile on her face and said "We finally have something in common, mother-in-law, because the only ones I can also accept are your sons and whether you see me as a Sanders or not, doesn’t change the fact that tomorrow I will be known as Mrs Sanders and my child will become your heir. I guess biting the hand that has fed me for so long does come with marvelous advantages."
