Chapter 20: A Princess

"Are you insane? I can’t do that. Their wedding will guided by trained men so asking me to kill the bride is a suicide mission." A man named Mason said. He was a fit twenty-eight-year-old who had been in love with Amber since he saved her from a gang fight.

Amber scoffed and said "So all those talks of being able to kill for me were just mere words? What else did I expect from a gang member? Let’s not meet again."

She opened the car door and was about to leave when Mason held her hand and said, "Do you understand what you are asking of me? You talk as if you don’t know who the Sanders family are. People who are invited to weddings like that are the Mayor of this city or even the president himself. Do you think such people will come alone? Besides, do you want to kill your sister for the sake of a man?"

"Eliana is not my sister. She is just a worthless trash who couldn’t stand my happiness."

"For Zach to sleep with your sister shows that he doesn’t love you. Instead of being angry, you should be happy that you escaped such a piece of trash."

Amber looked at Mason angrily and said "Don’t talk as if you hold a candle to him. Zach is just under Eliana’s spell, and I will do whatever it takes to break that spell."

Mason saw the determination in Amber’s eyes and said, "You said we could be together even after your marriage with Zach. Now that it is not happening, why don’t we get married instead?"

"Have you lost your mind? I am Amber Moore and you....you are just a nobody. Just because we have slept together a few times doesn’t mean I will lower my standards for you. I already have a husband, and that is Zachary Sanders. It doesn’t matter if he is married now because I assure you, in less than a year, they will get divorced."

"You think you love Zach? Look at you, look at the words you are saying. You are just obsessed and upset that Eliana was able to make Zach hers when you couldn’t even get him to kiss you at your engagement ceremony. Are you that pathetic Amber Moore? You are the legitimate daughter while she is just an adopted child that stole from you, let it go, Amber, and move on." Mason said taking out a cigarette from his wallet.

Amber frowned when the smell of cigarettes hit her nose, she bit her lips in anger and suddenly said "You are right. Eliana is beneath me, and I shouldn’t be so bothered about a child my parents pitied and adopted, but she stole from me and made a mockery of me by stealing my fiance. Will you tell me not to make her pay for all the humiliation I have been through?"

Seeing tears in Amber’s eyes made Mason’s heart soften. He threw out his cigarette and pulled her into his embrace as he said, "You are right? Eliana should be taught a lesson for your humiliation. I may not do anything today but I promise that before the end of this week, I will make Eliana pay for causing tears into your beautiful eyes."

Amber sniffed and said, "Thank you, Mason. You know you are the only one I trust, right? And sometimes I may say hurtful things but never doubt the fact that I love you."

Mason smiled when he heard her declaration of love and said, "I love you too, Amber, and don’t worry, after I teach Eliana a lesson, she will never again take anything that belongs to you." He kissed the top of her head and continued smiling cheekily.

Sanders Mansion

"Wow. You look wow." Ryan said amazed at the sight of Eliana in her wedding gown.

Eliana smiled and blushed slightly at his compliment "Hopefully, Zach will think the same way when he sees me."

"I do not doubt that. My brother got lucky with you." Ryan said and noticed Eliana rubbing her palm, "Nervous?"

"Very. Are the people out there much?" Eliana asked.

"Not really. Mom was quite stingy with the invitation, and as you know, Zach has few friends." Ryan said.

Eliana laughed and turned to look at herself in the mirror again. The wedding dress was a masterpiece, custom-made by a renowned designer. How Zach was able to get him to design such a gown in a short time was amazing. The gown was a classic, ball dress made of ivory silk satin, with intricate lace and delicate embroidery adorning the bodice.

Her makeup was flawless, and her hair, which was done by a celebrity hairstylist, was styled in a breathtaking updo. Soft, loose waves framed her face, while the rest of her locks were swept up into an elaborate, braided bun.

Eliana was so stunned by her look that she softly whispered "I look like a princess."

Ryan stood behind her and said, "You don’t look like a princess, you are a princess."

Eliana turned to look at him and said "Is this making you feel like you should get married quickly and have a beautiful bride by your side?"

Ryan laughed and said, "I’m too young to get married."

"We are the same age."

"You are a girl and pregnant while I’m at the peak of my career, I need no distractions at the moment. After you and Zach’s wedding, I plan to go back to the base." Ryan said with a smile.

Eliana’s smile faltered when she heard that. "So you are leaving after the wedding?"

"Yeah, I have to go. Don’t give me that sad look, Eliana. You look so pretty today, let’s not ruin it." Ryan said.

"When will I see you again?"

"I can’t promise every weekend, but I will try, and if anyone bullies, then always remember I’m just a call away."

Eliana laughed and said, "Thank you, Ryan, for accepting me."

Ryan spread his arms for a hug and said "Welcome to the family, Eliana Sanders."

Eliana smiled and hugged him.
