His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 131: If That Kiss Had Really Landed...
In the past, Miles Goodman always thought girls were quite troublesome.
They were delicate and fragile, prone to crying, and loved tattling.
But ever since meeting Kiana Sutton, he found girls being a bit delicate endearing, and being a bit fragile, lovable.
Crying meant rich emotions and a delicate heart.
As for tattling, Kiana Sutton was never the type to give small reports.
Kiana Sutton was holding Quinn Sinclair’s phone, helping Quinn record a video.
Clusters of fireworks blossomed in the sky, fleeting but eternally lingering in people’s hearts.
People around were praising the beauty of the fireworks, but Miles Goodman only had eyes for Kiana Sutton.
Kiana Sutton was more beautiful than the fireworks.
Or rather, in his eyes, there was nothing or anyone in the world more beautiful than Kiana Sutton.
Kiana Sutton had perfect skin, even the fine fuzz on her nose and face was visible.
Her side profile was small and exquisite; Miles gazed at her blankly, leaning down impulsively towards Kiana’s face.
Since being humiliated by Kiana Sutton once, Stella Lyncg had been criticized by many for quite some time.
Her mood had been terribly bad lately, and initially, when someone invited her to see the fireworks at Mount Rofus, she didn’t want to come.
But someone mentioned seeing Miles Goodman here, so she came.
She sent Miles several messages on WeChat, but he didn’t reply, nor did he answer her calls.
The fireworks show started, others took out their phones to take photos, but she wasn’t interested at all.
Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly spotted two familiar faces in the crowd.
Miles Goodman and Kiana Sutton!
Moreover, Miles was actually lowering his head to kiss Kiana!
Stella was furious; she almost rushed over to separate them but thought otherwise. Instead, she took out her phone, changed angles, and snapped a few photos.
Staring at the photos on her phone screen, a hint of malice flickered in Stella’s eyes.
"Miles Goodman, if you insist on entangling yourself with Kiana Sutton, don’t blame me!"
Stella sent the photos she took to two parties.
One to Ethan Sinclair, the other to the Goodmans.
As for Miles, he naturally didn’t get to kiss Kiana Sutton as he wished.
Quinn Sinclair had just come from the restroom and saw Miles practically bewitched, going to kiss Kiana, and immediately shouted at him in a panic.
"Miles Goodman!!!"
Quinn’s voice was like the buzz of a mosquito amidst the loud crowd.
But to Miles, it was thunderous, shaking him awake, taking a horrified step back.
Kiana also heard Quinn’s voice; when she turned her head, she saw Miles blushing, looking as guilty as he could be.
Then Quinn hurriedly stepped between them, pulling Kiana behind her, glaring fiercely at Miles with her pretty almond eyes, almost spewing fire.
Kiana, unaware of the situation, gently tugged on Quinn’s clothes. When Quinn looked at her, Kiana gestured, "Quinn, what’s wrong?"
Just as Quinn was about to respond, Miles suddenly grabbed her arm.
Quinn glared at Miles with a chilling gaze. Miles knew he was wrong; he didn’t know what came over him earlier, his heart itched, his mind filled with Kiana’s image, just couldn’t help wanting to kiss her.
Thankfully, Quinn interrupted, or else if he really kissed her, his friendship with Kiana would probably end.
Miles didn’t want Kiana to know his vile thoughts and gave Quinn a pleading look.
Quinn read the regret and fear in his eyes, hummed lightly, then smiled at Kiana, "There are too many people here, and you’re so cute and pretty. I was afraid someone would take advantage of you, so I wanted Miles to protect you."
Kiana trusted Quinn’s words completely and returned Quinn’s phone to her.
"I’m not great at recording, see if this is okay?"
Quinn no longer had any mood for fireworks, merely smiled perfunctorily, "Looks great, sister-in-law. We’ve eaten enough, time to head back."
Kiana nodded; it was indeed getting late, time for her to return.
"I... I drove, let me give you guys a ride home."
Quinn smiled a nearly sarcastic smile, "Young Master Goodman, you’re busy, don’t let us waste your time."
Implying he should take the clear, well-lit path, while they took their own little bridge, to kindly get lost.
Miles dared not say anything more.
When Kiana got home, it was already past eleven at night.
With Ethan Sinclair home and Kiana not back, Chelsea Chapman dared not sleep.
Seeing Kiana return, Chelsea let out a genuine sigh of relief, "Young Madam."
Kiana handed the supper she brought to Chelsea, "Here, your favorite grilled sweet potato skin and grilled tendons."
Chelsea was overwhelmed with emotion, "Thank you, Young Madam."
Kiana smiled, changed her shoes, and was about to head to her room when Chelsea called her back, "Young Madam, Young Master returned today."
Kiana was momentarily stunned.
Ethan Sinclair came back?
"I sent you a message, didn’t you see it?"
Kiana, somewhat speechless, replied, "My phone died."
Upon reconsideration, this was Ethan’s home, wasn’t it normal for him to return?
Besides, she hadn’t done anything wrong, why fear him?
So, she gestured to Chelsea, "It’s late; have a bite and go to bed early, I’m heading to my room."
Chelsea, thinking Ethan might have gone to bed, nodded, "Okay."
Having been at work all day and then out late, Kiana was indeed exhausted.
She just wanted to take a shower and sleep well.
Walking into her room, she turned on the light and immediately saw someone sitting on her little sofa.
Startled, upon seeing it was Ethan, she let out a slight sigh of relief.
Yet, puzzled why he was awake in her room so late?
Was he... waiting for her?
The next second, those cold, dark eyes stared chillingly at her, "Did you have fun?"
Saying so, he got up and walked toward her step by step.
His face was dark and frightening, the aura of hostility and anger surrounding him made him look intimidating.
Kiana’s little heart trembled with fear, and instinctively in the face of danger, she took a step back.
But she hadn’t taken but two steps back before Ethan pinned her against the door, "I asked if you had fun, why aren’t you answering?"
Fear filled Kiana’s eyes; she knew when Ethan was angry, it was best not to go against him, so she nodded obediently.
Besides, she wasn’t lying; she indeed had a good time at dinner with Quinn and Miles tonight.
Suddenly, her chin was gripped tightly, as Ethan leaned in and fiercely bit her lower lip...
