His soul-Chapter 99: Julian’s promise
"Gina!"
Julian’s call managed to make everyone in front of the door turn towards Gina, including Massimo and Martin who were quite surprised when they saw Gina from outside. Gina herself, who was previously very surprised when she saw Massimo, had managed to regain control of herself and acted as if nothing had happened even though her heart was beating very fast at this time.
Julian immediately approached Gina with a big smile, Julian then put his arm around Gina’s shoulders when he returned to face Massimo.
"This is our first daughter, Georgina," said Julian proudly introducing Gina to Massimo.
"Georgina." Massimo repeated Julian’s words slowly.
"Right, Gina is only one year different from Selena," said Julian again with a smile. "And Gina introduces this Mr. Massimo del Cano."
Gina’s eyes widened, looking very surprised. "That Massimo?" Gina stammered.
Massimo smiled at Gina’s words. "That’s right Miss, I’m that Massimo." Even though he didn’t know what the word ’that’ meant by Gina, Massimo still answered Gina’s words.
Gina immediately shifted her gaze from her father to Massimo who was now walking towards her smiling.
"Nice to meet you, Miss," Massimo said quietly as he held out his hand to Gina.
What a miracle! Massimo del Cano reached out his hand first for someone to get acquainted with.
Instead of welcoming Massimo’s outstretched hand, Gina raised her hand up to shoulder height. "My hands are dirty."
Massimo raised both his eyebrows at the same time, but it was different for Martin who looked very emotional at the arrogant attitude of Gina who dared to refuse to shake hands with the highly respected master.
"Well then I’ll come in, Dad. I don’t want to disturb you, excuse me," Gina said casually saying goodbye to her father and immediately walked quickly into the house past Massimo and the others. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
When Gina passed in front of him, Martin immediately gave her a disapproving look, but Gina, who felt innocent, ignored Martin’s gaze.
"Sorry sir, forgive my daughter. Gina is a little .."
"Strange and disrespectful." Selena immediately cut her father’s words quickly. "Gina doesn’t have good manners, sir. I’m sorry, she was raised by her mother who was barbaric in England unlike us who..."
"Selena, watch your mouth. It’s not good to talk about the dead," said Vanessa, who quickly interrupted Selena’s words.
Selena, who was already standing beside Massimo, immediately closed her lips tightly, hearing the conversation between mother and daughter, Massimo just smiled faintly. In fact, even without them telling them he already knew where Gina came from, living at the Sanders’ house for almost a month made Massimo know about Gina.
"Forgive Gina’s attitude, sir. I hope you are not offended, Gina must have not done that on purpose," said Julian hoarsely apologetically to Gina, he was afraid Massimo would be angry given the unfriendly attitude Gina had shown earlier.
"It’s no big deal, you don’t have to apologize to me, Julian," Massimo replied dryly. "Well, since I no longer have any interest in this house it seems I have to go home and once again thank you for your welcome and lunch. I really appreciate that."
Julian shook his head. "It’s not a big deal, sir. I should be the one thanking you for coming to our house and supporting us."
Massimo chuckled. "Isn’t that what co-workers are for?"
Julian who understood Massimo’s words could only stay silent and didn’t respond back, all he did was smile trying to cover up his true feelings for Massimo which he really hated.
As Massimo had said before, he and Martin soon left the Sanders residence. When Massimo was about to get into his limited edition car, Massimo glanced at Gina’s room, which had the balcony open, unlike a moment ago when he arrived.
After the car driven by Martin actually came out of the Sanders residence, Selena suddenly hugged her mother tightly. "Mommy, I want to marry Massimo del Cano, Mommy. I want to be his wife, Mommy," she said loudly without shame.
Julian, who was still staring at the gate of his house, immediately turned to the daughter who had just spoken incoherently. "Are you aware of what you’re saying, Selena?"
"Sure, I know, Daddy. I’m in love with him, Daddy. I really like him, so please please marry me as soon as possible. I’m willing to discontinue my studies for...ahhh."
Selena squealed loudly as her mother immediately let go of her embrace. "Watch your words, Selena. The guy you’re talking about is a very dangerous guy, Massimo del Cano isn’t a nice guy. You know what he’s doing, right?"
"I don’t care about that, Mom. All I know is that I’m already in love with.."
Slap..
A hard slap landed on Selena’s face.
"No, Mommy won’t allow that to happen. You can’t do that, remember it well, Selena," Vanessa said loudly, her eyes reddening showing how angry she was right now.
Selena is her future, the lifeblood of her old age whom she has betrothed to with one of the noble children from the Spanish kingdom who is quite familiar with her and Vanessa has been planning it for a long time, that’s why she has balked at the matchmaking made by her father-in-law for Selena
With a red face from the slap of her mother, Selena immediately grabbed Rosa’s hand, who had been just a spectator. "I hate Mommy, I hate it so much," she half shouted. After saying that, Selena hurried away from her mother’s presence to the Porsche that had not been used since morning.
Seeing his daughter leave like that, Vanessa immediately burst into tears, until finally Julian had to hug her because of Vanessa’s louder crying.
"You saw that, honey. You saw how stubborn your daughter was, didn’t you? I couldn’t let Selena marry Massimo del Cano, I wouldn’t let my daughter sacrifice for this family, Julian. There must be another way to save us from our grasp. that Massimo del Cano, isn’t he? Selena is still a child, Julian. Her future is still long huhuhu...."
Julian tightened his arms around Vanessa’s body, he even closed his eyes at this moment because he didn’t know what to answer to his wife who had for so long. This has sacrificed a lot for him and his family. After the death of his mother four days ago, Vanessa has indeed done many things including doing all the tasks her mother usually does and all of that has succeeded in making Vanessa have more value in Julian’s eyes, it seems that Vanessa’s plan is going smoothly. Even though she had to make a few hard sacrifices, now Vanessa managed to impress Julian even more.
"You don’t have to worry, I won’t let our daughter fall into that crazy Massimo’s arms. I promise you," said Julian earnestly.
"Really? You want to promise me?"
"Yes, I promise you."
"You swear?"
Julian chuckled. "Does it have to go that far?"
Vanessa immediately let go of Julian’s arms. "MUST!!"
"Okay, I swear I will protect our daughter until the end no matter what," Jullian said earnestly.
Bam. Finally the words Vanessa wanted to hear came on Julian’s lips.
Vanessa smiled widely and hugged Julian tightly again. "I take your word Julian."
