Chapter 403: Her Greatest Concern.

"I knew she would be in here," Mrs. Wyatt said lowly as she walked into the nursery and met Arissa sleeping peacefully in a quilt. freewebnøvel.coɱ

She walked over to her sleeping daughter-in-law, dropped the tray of food on the floor, and sat beside her. Her hand moved up to Arissa’s hair and she began to tenderly stroke her brown silky hair.

A smile broke out of her lip as she enjoyed pampering her daughter-in-law even in her sleep. It gladdened her heart so much.

Feeling a hand moving on her hair, Arissa slowly parted her eyes to the morning light. She raised her weak hand to her hair and placed it on the hand stroking her hair.

"Good morning dear," Mrs. Wyatt said with love when Arissa placed a hand in hers. Mrs. Wyatt turned her hand and held Arissa’s hand protectively.

Arissa hummed in response and smiled. Mrs. Wyatt took the hair off Arissa’s face and dropped a soft kiss on the side of Arissa’s forehead.

Arissa smiled and turned her full body upward to face the ceiling. She smiled at Mrs. Wyatt and pushed her body closer to the woman for more warmth. Mrs. Wyatt smiled happily and wrapped her hands around Arissa in a hug.

Arissa wrapped her hands around Mrs. Wyatt’s waist and hugged her back. She rested her head on the woman’s lap, seeking recharge.

"What’s that scent?" Arissa asked from the hug.

Mrs. Wyatt dropped a kiss on the center of Arissa’s head before replying, "I prepared a beautiful breakfast for you," she sounded happy and proud of herself.

"Hmm," Arissa hummed. She had no appetite to eat but still, her eyes sparkled. Mrs. Wyatt takes care of her even better than she will ever take care of herself.

"Can you join me at the hospital today?" Arissa asked sitting up on the bed, "I’m a bit nervous,"

"Oh my," Mrs. Wyatt laughed. She held both sides of Arissa’s shoulders and smiled at her, "You don’t even have to ask, of course, I will."

Arissa smiled in appreciation. She held Mrs. Wyatt’s gaze and pulled the woman into a hug. Mrs. Wyatt hugged her back and stroked her back affectionately.

Arissa smiled and pulled away from the hug.

"Let me_"

"No, don’t shower," Mrs. Wyatt cut her off, already knowing what she was about to say, "It’s already past 10: am. Why don’t we have breakfast first?"

Arissa gasped when she heard the time of the day. She lifted her eyes to the wall clock and when she saw how accurate Mrs. Wyatt was, she nodded in agreement to eat up.

Mrs. Wyatt arranged the tray before Arissa and joined her. As Arissa ate, Mrs. Wyatt stared at her occasionally in contemplation.

She felt something was wrong with Arissa but couldn’t jump to the conclusion because of how well Arissa hid her emotions and kept on smiling at her.

Suddenly, Arissa paused eating and stared down at the meal before her. Her smile wiped off her face she fell into deep thoughts, forgetting Mrs. Wyatt’s presence.

Mrs. Wyatt took in a soft breath when she saw Arissa looking so downcast. She dropped her cutleries on the tray and placed a hand on Arissa’s shoulder

"Dear," she called.

Slowly, Arissa lifted her eyes from the tray and met Mrs. Wyatt’s eyes. Her eyes trembled as she fought back her tears.

Mrs. Wyatt’s heart fell when she saw Arissa struggling with her tears so hard. She pushed the tray away from them and pushed herself closer to Arissa. Now close, she stared into Arissa’s eyes and squeezed her daughter’s hands with comfort.

Arissa appreciated her hold with a smile.

"Have you spoken to Nicklaus today?" she choked out before Mrs. Wyatt could say a word. She felt bothered.

Mrs. Wyatt shook her head and then she stood up. Picking up Arissa’s phone from the floor, she gave it to her and suggested, "Here, why don’t you call him?"

Arissa shook her head and swatted the phone away from herself. Mrs. Wyatt respected her decision and returned the phone to its initial position.

"You know what’s happening," Arissa guessed from the look in Mrs. Wyatt’s eyes. The woman looked like she knew everything but still wanted to hear her talk.

Mrs. Wyatt nodded, "I do," she came closer and wrapped her hands around Arissa’s shoulder, "But that’s not something you should worry about. Your husband is hardworking and smart. He would get things sorted out before you know it," she assured.

Arissa thinned her lips, "Remember you once told me that you won’t let my presence his wife temper with his company progress,"

"I did," Mrs. Wyatt smiled, "But that’s in the past. I can’t afford to lose you anymore so I want you to be strong. Stop worrying too much, it might affect the baby,"

Arissa said nothing and Mrs. Wyatt went on, "You are more precious to me than you’d ever know. Also, Nicklaus won’t dare get married to someone else. He won’t even look at another woman..."

Mrs. Wyatt’s words continued but Arissa heard none. Whenever someone says it’s in the past, there’s a beautiful tendency that it would happen. Also, the voice of Nicklaus talking about marrying some other lady and being there because of that lady filled her mind.

Don’t get her wrong, she trusts her husband but at the same time, she strongly can’t help it. She can’t help but feel shaken about all of these. Her father did everything he could for his company.

Her father sold her off for his company and had Adele raped. He did evil things for his company so how much more Nicklaus when all he had to do was get married?

She would get hurt if he remarried but her greatest concern now was that of her child. Arissa doesn’t want her child to grow up in a broken home.

She wants the best loving home for her kids and that was why she was hesitant at first to start making babies with Nicklaus.
