Chapter 96 - Return Home II

(Drakken's POV)

"I shouldn't remind you that any attempt to poison me would only fail." I told Jaehaerys as I approached the large table filled with food, "And the result of that would be bloody...."

"I am not that foolish." He said seriously as he gestured at the table, "My Wife had this arranged for the return of my daughter. You are a Lord, technically, so I should show some hospitality."

"Well, I am more than that..." I said as I looked around the room, "But as the Head of a new and Great House, I suppose I can spend a day without tormenting my King.....pfft!! Ah, that is hilarious.....I cannot take myself seriously now that those words came out of my mouth...."

"Lord Drakken...." Maegelle said, "You..."

We were in the dining hall of the Red Keep; Jaehaerys was waiting for us as Alysanne was fetching Aemon and Baelon. I could only assume that those two would do anything to avoid any of this. I would do the same if I were them, truthfully.

I looked at Maegelle, "What?"

She sighed, "I guess it cannot be helped....."

"What? Look, I am not murdering anyone.....joking around is allowed, no?" I said, "Ah, what does it matter? I came here to get my end of the deal and then just wait for Maegelle to have her fill of spending time here."

Jaehaerys looked at me, "I suppose that is fair."

"Yes." I said as I pointed at him, "I am a busy man, Jaehaerys. Let's get this over with."

"You don't go shouting about that you are a god anymore?" He said with a raised eyebrow, "That is a first."

I sat down in the chair, pulling Maegelle to sit next to me, "Don't push your luck." I said, "You won't want to be reminded of what I could do at this distance."

"I don't." He said, "You are right."

I nodded and leaned back, "So...." I said, "Here we are...."

Jaehaerys looked at Maegelle, "So you are." He said, "I trust my daughter is comfortable in your hospitality?"

Maegelle nodded, "I am."

"I heard of an incident in Casterly Rock." He said, "And you handled it, Drakken?"

"I did." I said, "Leniently, If I have to describe it. But all for a good reason."

"So I have heard." He said, "You have taken advantage of the Lannisters and taken gold for yourself. Not only that, I can only imagine you used your sorcery to somehow duplicate that wealth."

I pulled out the bone pipe from my pocket and a small pouch from which I pulled out a pinch of my "medicinal" herbs. I then placed the herbs in the pipe, summoned a flame from my finger, and lit the pipe up.

I placed the pipe in my mouth and began to smoke from it, eventually taking it out and blowing some smoke. All while both Maegelle and Jaehaerys merely stared at me.

".....Yea." I said, "What's it to you?"

Jaehaerys placed his elbows on the table, "I take it you have also made a deal with my son." He said, "To heal Aenys."

I continued smoking from the pipe, "Mhm."

"Why?" He asked me

"I was soft." I said as I exhale smoke, "At the time that he went and got on his knees, begging me to do something, I was genuinely softer than I anticipated."

"Hm." He said as he narrowed his eyes, "Yet he requires to give you a payment worthy of your labor...."

"That's right. Otherwise I undo the healing and your little Aenys is back to coughing up blood or mucus or whatever the hell he is ill with." I said, "For a Grandfather, you seem like you don't give a shit. I mean, no thanks or whatever. Aemon looked like he wanted to kiss me at least."

He shook his head, "I have no reason to be grateful to you." He said, "You always have an ulterior motive which will gravely affect us."

"Yes and yet you still make the deals." I said with a smirk, "Which is why Maegelle is sitting by my side....which is why Saera will soon be mine....and which is why in 10 years, I will definitely create a cataclysm that will shake this world."

He narrowed his eyes, "You...."

"Lord Drakken..." Maegelle started

"And ultimately, it is why I will walk away with barrels of Balerion's blood." I said with a smirk, "Because no matter how grave my ulterior motives are, the payoff from the deals greatly benefit you lot."

"What do you plan to do with the blood?" He asked, "And Alysanne claims you can restore Balerion's health."

"What I do with the blood is none of your concern." I said, "And I can definitely heal him. Will I? I don't know. It is completely up to you. But....I am done making deals. The shop is closed now. I will take the blood, wait for my Maegelle to have her fill of family and home, and go back to my castle."

"Father, Lord Drakken is quite busy these days" Maegelle spoke up, "He was able to accompany me here for the couple of days I will stay. I am very grateful to him, as you should be."

"Busy plotting schemes, I presume." He said with a frown, "But provoking you is not what I intend to do. So do me a favor, Lord Drakken, eat to your heart's content. This is supposed to be an amicable dinner."

"Sure." I said, "Bring me some wine I guess. I have grown accustomed to your drinks. It will take a couple of barrels to make me woozy."

"If that is what you say." He said, "I have heard you are now a Father. You have your own Heir?"

As I heard the footsteps of servants walking up to the table, I nodded and continued smoking.

"Indeed." I told him, "I have a son. He will one day command the Duskguard and lead my House. Not only that, he will inherit my position of Tormenting your House."

"Just you wait."
