Humanity.exe-Chapter 37: The Streets of Kairox
It has been about two weeks since we started getting the new building situated. Reika knew how to get us some furniture for all of the rooms.
We’ve gotten a bit closer over that time, not that it really matters all that much.
I still want to believe that the wraith is Renji but he obviously didn’t want to admit that just yet. I also need to focus on getting this whole thing up and running.
The streets of Kairox are filled with people looking for the right gang to join, it would do us some good to find some new recruits.
Pinky and Rezex still haven’t made any sort of appearance since they left Reika by herself in the old headquarters. I’m still not entirely sure why they did any of that but at least they didn’t hurt her.
"Zero we need to do something soon. We’ve still got control of that truck with the mana as well." Reika said as she entered the office.
"We still have the truck? I didn’t think we had that. It isn’t here though." I replied with a bit of confusion in my voice. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Yes. I have it stored somewhere safe. Pinky wouldn’t let anyone take it, just us." Reika said with confidence in her voice.
The truck with the mana supply could be huge, especially since we have a nice setup with the mana port. We just need to get us someone who can work with cybernetic implants.
Doc is also still missing with no clue or indication to where he went.
"We’ll have to go get it soon then. It is best to find someone who can do something with it. I don’t have any clue how to use it otherwise." I responded with a calm tone.
"I’ll find us another doc who can help." Reika assured me.
"Alright, I’ll leave it to you. I’m going to do some scouting." I said with a more serious tone.
I left Reika to figure out where to find our new doc so I can focus on searching the streets for new members. It was pretty quiet around here but it shouldn’t be too hard to find the right people.
Outside our new headquarters was definitely peaceful but it wouldn’t change the fact that I still carry my deagle.
I know I can handle myself in hand to hand combat as well so I shouldn’t run into any issues with anyone. Just, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared for anything.
It’ll be a lot different calling the shots but I know that I’ll be working jobs like anyone else I bring in. I can’t sit around in an office the whole damn time like some corporate scumbag.
They just pay people to do whatever they need and it is disgusting.
Regardless I need to figure out some shit on my own so that I can take over the city itself. Being at the bottom of the food chain is not where I intend to stay.
Finding out who runs things around the city currently is also the main goal. Citizens who aren’t affiliated with gangs would assume that corporations run everything but they’d be wrong.
There’s always been a gang in the shadows running everything from the get go.
"I don’t think I’ve seen you around before." A man spoke up from behind me.
Turning around I found myself face to face with a rather well dressed man wearing a suit, some tattoos along his neck, short slicked back black hair, and blue eyes.
"I’ve not wandered the streets much but I have been around." I said with a confident, yet serious tone.
"Still doesn’t mean much to me. I haven’t seen you around, so who are you affiliated with?" He asked while staring at me, a look of murderous intent.
This guy won’t hesitate to try to kill me if he doesn’t like my answer but he doesn’t know a damn thing about me either. I’m not some bitch who will just give people what they want, but I’m not dumb either.
I’ll just figure this out like I always do and it’ll be just fine.
"Kuroten." I answered.
"I’ve never heard of Kuroten. But if they have any affiliation with the Kurogane family, I don’t want any issues." He said with a bit more of a worried tone.
"They do, so maybe it is best you f*ck off for now." I replied while staring right at him.
He didn’t say anything back to me after that and just walked off without even looking back at me. Kurogane is still known to this day to be a family you don’t mess with.
So I continued my scouting in the streets with the thought of my dad watching over everything. Word of Kuroten startered to spread fast after I talked with that guy as well.
I’m not sure if it’ll be beneficial all the time since my dad had his enemies as well but it will keep some people away. I’ll also have to keep an eye out for some of the older gangs.
If they are around here at all... They will definitely not like me in the slightest.
"Kuroten, that’s your gang. I’m actually in search of a place to go." A man said from behind me.
I turned around to see a guy wearing a grey hoodie, sweatpants, he has messy blonde hair, green eyes, and doesn’t seem to be lying.
"Kuroten is in need of new members. But who are you?" I questioned with a serious tone.
I don’t want to take any chances with bringing in people I don’t know much about. At least a name is towards the right direction.
"Nyoshi." He answered without hesitation.
"Alright, we’ll talk more back at the headquarters then. Just know we’re figuring a lot out still." I said with a serious tone.
"Doesn’t matter to me, it is a place to go. I’ll work hard to prove it isn’t a mistake to bring me in." Nyoshi assured me.
Nyoshi, quite the name. That’s a start to making our gang bigger. We’ll still need a lot more members.
