I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 294: Malik
’Welcome to the Sinclair Family.’
Ravi smiled and a warm feeling filled his chest, "Thank you."
He moved through the gate, closing his eyes and letting his energy destroy the dimension as he did so.
Arlen was suddenly pouncing on him and tightly embracing him.
"We did it." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
His lips pressed against Ravi’s and they felt so right.
Relief saturated him the moment their mouths met, and he sank into the taste of his man. Arlrn devoured his mouth with long, hungry, kisses that dripped through him like hot honey. Ravi succumbed to the pleasure shuddering through his veins at each collision, consuming like they would be never get enough of each other.
Someone cleared their throat behind them and Ravi was instantly pulled back to reality. The red spread from his cheeks to his ears as he pulled away.
"Auntie." Ravi saw that she had even used fog to cover the eyes of the monk and he felt his ears burning.
If he closed his eyes, he would probably vanish from here.
"Mother. You are still here." Arlen grumbled and Ravi gritted his teeth, reaching to pinch him.
"Ouch." Arlen laughed, "Thank you, mom. Is the situation under control?"
Madame Sinclair nodded seriously, "All units were recalled and enforced. Everything is under control but I need to return at once. I would take these little ones with me. This weather?" She looked up, her blue eyes sharp and piercing as she looked at the thunder looming.
"You are right, Auntie. This thunder is not ordinary." He paused; this was his family, "Come back with everyone else when everything had settled. Everyone should stay at the perimeter of this place. Please bring Sage, Lana, and Ash as well."
"What should we do?"
"Nothing. Just stay around. After the tribulation is over, I do not know how to explain it. Just that everyone around this place would be blessed for generations."
"You should have led with that." The Sinclair matriarch had a rare sense of urgency in her voice, "We are on our way. Arlen, you said you have found Anouk. Bring him too." With that, she opened up the transporter and quickly left.
Arlen leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheeks, "Hey, love."
Ravi’s eyes curved up when he heard this familiar endearment, and in a split second, it was as if the world flourished within that smile.
He laughed faintly, lifting his both hands to hook Arlen’s neck, supporting himself;f up to kiss his forehead, then his brows, his nose, before placing a small kiss on his lips.
"Hey, too."
He was really really happy. If only he could stay here at this moment... Fuck! Malik.
The memory of his friend and Arlen’s brother came quickly and he bit his tongue in guilt.
Arlen noticed his look and frowned, "Anouk and Malik, are they okay?"
As if to respond to him, the dark clouds rolled as crimson-red lightning surged within it. Large bolts of lightning that surged within the clouds seemed like wriggling pythons.
Rumble.
"Are they going to leave?" Unlike his mother, Arlen knew a lot about who Anouk and Malik were. The heavy clouds above him made him feel very uneasy. But what was unfolding was something that he could not control, he would not throw a tantrum about it, he could only stay here, wait, and help if he could.
Ravi could hear the worry and helplessness in Arlen’s voice. He walked closer to him, standing shoulder to shoulder, and stretched out his hand.
Arlen smiled and naturally placed his hand in his.
Beyond the chilly air that enveloped them, Ravi’s hand was even colder yet Arlen felt so much warmth when he heard it. He could clearly feel the strength of the hand that curved to hold his. It was neither heavy nor light, just enough to keep hold of him.
It turned out that there was nothing to be afraid of when someone you loved was holding your hand.
Ravi did not know how long he waited but the tribulation did not come down. Something was wrong.
Very wrong. He looked at Arlen and he could tell that his lover had come to the same conclusion.
He instantly took out the strongest shield that he could find, amplified it, and activated it.
"Empty." The word was soft like a whisper and yet it was so loud that it felt like it was about to drill open Ravi’s head.
It was as if his entire body was buried by a boundless expanse of sea and the terrifying pressure caused him to feel an intense feeling of suffocation.
Everything was silent. The wind held its breath, birds froze mid-flight, people halted mid-steps, wide-eyed and slack-jawed as if the entire world leaned in, waiting.
He stepped out from the shield, concentrating it on Arlen and he closed his eyes.
Demons were extremely proficient in mental attacks so each Sentinel was extremely skilled in mental reinforcement.
He instantly disappeared and appeared near Malik. He could not see Anouk.
Malik was bending down, his hand reaching out to the cold ground. His hand scratched on the ground, digging into the asphalt as if he could find salvation within.
The knowledge came cold as ice to Ravi. Anouk was dead. How? This was not the time to think.
He needed to reach Malik’s mental sea.
Malik’s ability, consuming and invisible radiates outwards in waves around him.
And minds shattered.
People on the street clutched their heads screaming. Newscasters stammered nonsense on the TV. In hospitals, patients ripped out IVs, their eyes rolled back as they wailed.
Ravi tried, carefully reaching out to his friend’s sea. He could feel the pain that gushed into his mind, it was as if he was being boiled alive in a sea of blood. Even though Malik knew that this kind of pain was incomparable, it was a throbbing misery that made him almost wish for death so his suffering could end.
He continued forward. He couldn’t break the walls or pass this sea of blood.
Fear began to climb into Ravi’s heart. If Malik continues this, he will bind this entire world’s mental seas to himself and if the tribulation should fall on him, it would fall on every one.
He continues to move forward step after another both mentally and physically. He had reached the edge of the wall and he had reached the shivering body bending over the empty ground.
This path that was once open to him was tightly shut.
"Malik."
"Malik. Anouk is in the Netherworld. You must control yourself."
He was listening. Malik could hear him.
"If the world is tethered to you while you receive your tribulation, everyone in this world would die. Including Anouk’s parents. Malik, if they die, Anouk will never forgive you."
Malik was silent, "Ravi."
"Yes." His eyes shone with tears.
"I can’t see." Malik’s voice was so vulnerable.
"Then close your eyes."
He took out the black silk that Zero had used to lure Anouk to this place, bent down and carefully tied Malik’s eyes.
"Ravi, he is mine. Not King Yama’s."
Ravi bit his lips, aren’t the two of them the same person? He could not stay so close, the tribulation destroyed him.
As he appeared several miles away, he took a deep breath as Malik stood up, dusted his clothes and raised his head.
"Come."
The terrifying bolts of lightning directly struck Malik’s body.
