Chapter 197: A Gift from the Sea

If possible, Roxanna actually wanted to cry in happiness a little longer. However, when she saw that all of her husbands looked worried, she tried her best to stop crying.

"I’ll keep all of these here for now," Roxanna said as she gently placed the gifts into a box made of woven rattan. "Tomorrow, I’ll turn these items into jewelry so I can keep them close to me."

Her husbands simply nodded in response, showing that none of them had any objections.

Not long after that, Roxanna spoke to the system in her heart. [I want to break the pearl Azul gave me and turn it into several pieces of jewelry. Can you do that?]

[Of course, Host!]

[The system is here to assist you!]

[An aqua pearl is a very rare material, so it can be crafted into many different items.]

[Please tell the system what kind of jewelry you would like to make.]

Roxanna thought for a moment before answering. [Then... make a pair of earrings, a bracelet, and a necklace.]

[Understood!] The system said

[Processing the request...]

[Analyzing material...]

[Rare item detected: Aqua Pearl of the Sea Kingdom]

[Suggested crafting options:]

- Aqua Pearl Earrings – Cost: 400 SP

- Aqua Pearl Bracelet – Cost: 350 SP

- Aqua Pearl Necklace – Cost: 600 SP

[Total crafting cost: 1,350 SP]

[Do you wish to proceed, Host?]

Roxanna blinked in surprise when she saw the details provided by the system. No, it wasn’t because of the price—they were expensive, but still a good deal—but because of the origin of the pearl.

[Aqua Pearl of the Sea Kingdom?] Roxanna wondered in her mind. [How could Azul possibly get something that valuable? He’s a beta fish, right? How could he even go to the Sea Kingdom that usually exists at the bottom of the ocean?]

Roxanna wasn’t an expert about the Sea Kingdom, but she had watched many mermaid movies where their kingdoms were always located deep under the sea. Because of that, she naturally assumed the Sea Kingdom in this world would be the same.

At the same time, her husbands looked at Azul with curious and slightly suspicious expressions. They had the exact same question as Roxanna. As far as they could remember, Azul had never once said that he came from the sea, so all this time, they had simply believed he was a small fish living in the river in the forest.

Could it be that he had stolen the pearl from someone?!

Everyone looked confused, but Azul himself was even more confused because he didn’t remember where he had gotten that pearl!

The only thing he could recall was that he had always carried a bag full of seashells and a big pearl. However, he had never known where those items came from. To be honest, his memories were very blurry that he couldn’t even remember what he had been doing before he came to the Vixeria Tribe.

[Host? Do you wish to proceed?] the system asked again when Roxanna didn’t answer for a while.

Roxanna suddenly snapped out of her thoughts and quickly replied in her mind. [Yes! Yes! Proceed!]

[Ding! Ding! The request is being processed...]

[Withdrawing 1,350 SP from Host’s account.]

[Remaining Spirit Points (SP): 184,550]

The system then told Roxanna to place the pearl inside the woven rattan box. After that, it would turn the pearl into several beautiful pieces of jewelry.

"So... my magic portal will do the job for me," Roxanna said with a small smile. Then she quickly corrected herself. "I mean... you know? The voice in my head."

It seemed like there were many things Roxanna needed to talk about with her husbands.

Starting from how they knew she had a voice that always spoke inside her head, and also... why Calen knew she had an ex-husband even though she had never mentioned it before.

Yes, Roxanna suddenly remembered something.

The first time, she told her husbands that she didn’t come from this world, Calen had immediately asked her about her ex-husband. At that time, her mind had been too full of other problems, so she didn’t think much about it.

But now that she thought about it again, she finally realized that it was actually very strange.

[Can they really read my mind?] Roxanna was shocked by her own thoughts. [I mean... they always seem to know what I want!]

[But it still doesn’t make sense. Are they just extremely sensitive people?]

From what Roxanna knew about men, their sensitivity was usually smaller than an ant. That was why she couldn’t understand how her husbands always seemed to know what she wanted at any moment.

However, before she could ask any questions, her husbands suddenly changed the topic.

"Is anyone hungry?" Calen clapped his hands together, trying to break the tension in the room. "Luan and I will go hunt for some meat!"

"T-Then I’ll cut some firewood!" Azul said quickly. He had already turned around and started walking out of the hut.

Meanwhile, Zeir said calmly, "I still have my commander duties, so I may not return until noon."

The only one left was Cyrus. But then he suddenly said, "I promised Skiv that I would teach him how to make a stone axe."

"You did?" Roxanna asked, looking surprised. "I... don’t think it’s necessary for a child to make a stone axe on his own."

Cyrus pressed his lips together and looked a little awkward as he scratched the back of his neck. "W-Well, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s better if a kid learns how to make a weapon, so he can make one himself in an emergency."

Roxanna was about to say something, but Cyrus had already stepped away from her. "It won’t take long. I’ll come back once Calen and Luan return from hunting," he said.

Soon, Roxanna was left standing alone. She raised her hand and waved a little awkwardly as she watched all of her husbands leave the hut one by one.

It wasn’t that she wanted to force them to stay with her all the time. But hadn’t they once said that they wouldn’t leave her alone?

"Well... maybe being alone isn’t that bad either," she murmured softly as she looked around the hut.

Now that she thought about it, this was probably the first time she had truly been alone since she came to this world.

Roxanna slowly lowered her hand after they disappeared from sight.

The hut suddenly felt much quieter than before. Without the voices of her husbands, the only sounds she could hear were the soft rustling of leaves outside and the distant noise of the tribe waking up for the day.

For a moment, she simply stood there, not sure what she should do.

"Maybe I should clean this place," Roxanna muttered to herself.

She looked around the hut and noticed that the place looked a little messy. It was normal though. When Roxanna went to the Golden Mountain, Azul had been too busy making sure Calen stayed alive, while Zeir had been busy with his commander duties.

Because of that, no one had really taken the time to tidy the place.

Roxanna clapped her hands once and began to move around the hut. She picked up a few scattered tools, folded the fur blankets neatly, and swept away the dust that had gathered in the corners.

As she worked, the quiet atmosphere slowly felt more comfortable rather than lonely.

"Honestly, it’s not that bad," she murmured.

Back in her old life, she had often been alone too. Cleaning, cooking, and taking care of things by herself had already become a habit.

After all, her ex-husband didn’t want to help her with the housework. He said that all of those things were not a man’s job, even though Roxanna was not a traditional wife either.

Even her husbands in this primitive era were still better than her modern ex-husband.

Back then, she had believed that kind of life was normal. She worked, cleaned the house, cooked, and handled almost everything by herself, while her ex-husband simply sat around and acted like it was only natural for her to do all of it.

Thinking about it now, Roxanna felt both annoyed and a little embarrassed.

"How did I even put up with that for so long?" she asked herself.

She shook her head lightly, as if trying to shake those memories away.

There was no point thinking about that man anymore since her life now was completely different.

Roxanna eventually decided to clean the entire hut, including the toilet area and the small kitchen.

While she was standing on her toes, trying to wipe the upper part of the wall with a wet cloth, Azul suddenly returned to the hut. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"What are you doing?!" Azul rushed inside. He quickly took the wet cloth from her hand. "Why are you cleaning this place by yourself? I was planning to clean it after I came back."

Then he gently took both of Roxanna’s hands and wiped them with a clean cloth. "Look at this," he said with a small frown. "Your hands are already so dirty."
