I can expand my MAGIC ENDLESSLY?!-Chapter 45: Why am I even here?
Kairos sighed, staring at the meal in front of him.
It was a praiseworthy ,fresh bread, roasted meat, and a soft sweet drink beside it.
The meat still sizzled in its own fat, releasing a rich aroma that made it even more tempting.
Yet despite his hunger, and despite how appealing the food looked.
Kairos simply couldn’t bring himself to eat.
"Lady Leia, that’s quite admirable ordering so much. Such a big appetite." Ama spoke calmly Slicing a small part of the meat with the knife gracefully before putting it in her mouth.
Savoring the rich flavor.
Leia’s eyes twiched hearing that but she stayed composed. Before smiling,
"You should try some as well, Barling. A little more...up top would suit you."
"Such a pity. Such a lovely face, yet so flat. A shame indeed" Giving a small subtle glance at her chest.
Ama’s brows twisted as she cliched the knife and fork. "Your father is such a refined man, Don’t sully him behaving so crude. Lady Leia"
Leia smiled taking a bite gracefully. "Yes forgive me, Lady Ama. It’s just I wanted to help you"
"It might be rude, But I’m really worried about your marriage. If you remain like that"
Instantly Ama stoped in mid air before putting the fork down. "Hmm, Lady Leia. Aren’t you being too rude?"
Leia ate comfortably. "No I’m just sharing my goodwill. I’m really worried"
A cold wind blow past between them as everything gone silent. Only the sound of fork taping the plates could be heard.
And among them, Was Kairos. Who still haven’t took a bite.
Kairos sighed. Then finally reached for the bread.
Both girls froze slightly, looking at him as he casually enjoyed the bread.
"So, Kairos... how do you know her?" Leia asked with a smile, pinching his arm.
Kairos flinched.
’What was even happening? Why was he suddenly in the middle of this? And why did she care about who he knew? They hadn’t met in four years.’
’Didn’t she hate him? Or was this because of Ama, whom she seemed to hate even more?,
He swallowed the bread before answering.
"I met her today."
Ama smiled faintly. "Yes, we just met at the library."
She glanced between the two of them. "What about you? You two seem rather close."
Hearing that, Kairos instantly began to sweat. He slowly turned toward Leia.
’Don’t say it. Don’t say it.’
If others found out they were engaged, his life would become hell.
Let alone getting close to Cartalia.
If she learned about it and then saw him trying to befriend her, she would surely think he was some shameless man chasing girls everywhere.
But then, on second thought, Kairos calmed slightly.
Leia shouldn’t reveal it. As Why would she?
The engagement had never been made public.
Surely she wasn’t stupid enough to expose it over something like this..right?
Leia looked at the side, Her ears blushing a little. But stayed composed.
"None of your business just stay away from him."
Hearing that Ama was more amused. He gave both of them a glance. ’Theres surely something between them. Quit nice of a surprise’
A faint sneer appeared at the edge of Ama’s lips.
She glanced at Kairos for a moment before looking back at Leia.
"Well," Ama said calmly, "since we met at the library today, you could say Kairos is my friend now as well."
Leaning towards him a little.
Leia’s smile stiffened, narrowing a little.
"Oh?"
Ama nodded lightly, taking another bite gracefully with elegance.
"Yes. We even had a rather pleasant conversation. You can say we are very close now"
Kairos felt sweat forming on his back.
’Why does that sound so suspicious...’
Leia slowly placed her fork down.
"I see."
Ama tilted her head slightly.
"So I hope you won’t mind if I speak with him from time to time. Well I’m more curios"
Leia’s fingers tightened around the glass.
Kairos could feel the pressure.
’Why am I suddenly the center of a war...’
Leia looked at him for a moment. Then she smiled again.
"Of course not."
"After all," she added lightly, "Kairos has always been...good at making friends."
"I also heard he did very well with the Aurean princess"
Kairos flinched hearing that. What was even happening, why was he at the center of it all.
He sighed he had enough. He took a big chunk of the meat shoving down his throat before standing.
"If you girls excuse me. I have to go now" saying that he stood up.
The bill of the food was already payed by them. So there’s nothing stoping him.
"Enjoy your meal"
"Wait Kairos..."
"Let’s go..."
Before they could add up more words, He slipped away leaving the cafeteria.
Heading for right away towards the renowned blue tower of the academy the Jelfs tower.
"Phew" A sigh of relief escaping from his mouth.
That was the reason he hated nobles. They all talk like that fighting with each other. And you will find yourself being within it not know how and why.
Putting all that aside he gazed at the towering thing before him stretching upward.
Students and Profesors could be seen disappearing reappearing Infront of it’s huge gates, Surrounded by veil of darkness.
The Jelfs Tower.
A place where students tested their magic. And grow stronger. And a place where one could earn credit points through trials.
Kairos stared at it quietly.
In his previous life, he had stood here once before. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
But back then,He couldn’t enter.
Because he had no mana.
Just remembering it made his lips curl slightly.
"This time..."
He stepped forward.
"I can."
Instantly The surroundings distorted and warmth spread over his body. Before the next moment he found himself standing, in a vast dark murky room.
Torches flickering every place. Lightning up every knack of the place.
Instantly a voce echoed and a blue transparent screen hovered atop him.
[Student registered,Proceeding with the First floor Trail]
Before him, in the middle of the trial chamber, the space suddenly distorted.
And two small green figures appeared.
Each held a rusty dagger. The creatures bared their crooked teeth, sneering as they stared at him.
But they didn’t move.
Kairos’s eyes lit up seeing them.A surge of excitement ran through him.
Goblins. Creatures he had only ever read about in books.
And now, He could finally fight them.
Kairos unsheathed his sword. Without hesitation, he rushed forward.
Raising the sword high,He brought it down in a clean, decisive slash.
