I Can Program My Body?-Chapter 578: Unwanted Guests
Speeding through regardless of the cost, the Void Pulse quickly arrived at the position of the intruder.
"Atom, fire a few warning shots!"
Following his order, Atom quickly controlled the secondary weapon of the Void Pulse, firing a barrage of warning shots.
Caught off guard by the sudden attack, the fleet before them came to an abrupt halt.
"Who are you? Why did you attack us?"
Finding the signal emitted by the Void Pulse, the enemy quickly communicated.
"This is the Territory of the Star Alliance. Do not go any further!"
"Heh! This is a Wild Void Area. There is no ownership here."
"Then you can try to go further." Nash muttered coldly.
If warnings weren’t enough, a few deaths should do the trick.
"I’m Selt, Captain of the Black Margin Alliance. We only need to pass through, no need to be so hostile." Selt tried to de-escalate, seeing that Nash wasn’t easy to deal with.
"Passing by? Why do I care? Get out of here if you don’t want any trouble." Nash sneered.
Who would believe they were just passing by?
With the massive energy the sun star void emitted, most would guess there was a large cluster of void mines ahead.
With how everyone was starved for energy, a void mine that size would be a lifesaver.
"Tsk. In that case, let’s see if you can stop us."
After waiting a while and seeing no backup arrive, Selt’s fear of Nash quickly faded.
Just a single tier 8 personal battleship. It was nothing in front of his fleet.
"It seems my kindness is being taken for granted..."
Turning toward Atom, Nash gave the signal.
Free to fire, Atom quickly initiated the ship’s firing sequence.
From the secondary weapons to the main weapon, Atom concentrated fire on one of the tier 8 battleships ahead.
Facing such a laughable attack, Selt still had time to sneer.
A personal battleship against a full-fledged battleship? Wasn’t it obvious who would win?
But as the shots from the Void Pulse landed, they carried a terrifying, penetrating power, tearing straight through the hull of the tier 8 battleship.
"No— Retreat!"
Without time to think, Selt quickly ordered a retreat.
Faced with a personal battleship capable of dealing that kind of damage, Selt could only conclude that they were facing a hidden elite force.
It wasn’t worth sacrificing a Tier 8 battleship for even a large cluster of void mines.
Fortunately, although the hull was heavily damaged, it could still move, retreating far faster than it had arrived.
"Should we chase, Master?" Atom asked, firing a few shots to disintegrate the tier 7 battleships that were too slow to escape.
"No need. We shouldn’t provoke them too much."
The enemy before them was merely a reconnaissance fleet.
Push them too far, and they might return at full force.
Nash wasn’t afraid, but the cost wasn’t worth it.
Especially since the Star Alliance Territory hadn’t settled yet, any complication could set them back.
Watching the Black Margin Alliance’s reconnaissance fleet flee, Nash fell into thought.
The excess energy the sun star void emitted was simply too attractive.
Any capable cosmic team that detected a source like this couldn’t help but take a shot at it.
If they knew it was a sun star void and not mere void minerals, they would swarm him regardless of the cost.
"We need to reinforce our perimeter defense."
Although it would slow their progress, it was better to be safe than not.
Nash had to make sure no one would discover what the sun star void truly was; otherwise, they would be overwhelmed.
"How do we proceed, Commander?" one of the leaders aboard the Void Pulse asked.
"As long as it doesn’t affect the Star Alliance Territory’s operations, deploy all the large-scale defensive weapons you can."
"Commander, this is..."
Though it might seem like simply moving objects from one place to another, the work, cost, and manpower required were enormous.
Previously, even with help from experts across the Solaris Domain and the Xenus Junction, the process had taken over a year.
Now with only themselves, they might not finish moving the large-scale defensive weapons before the barrier protecting them expired.
And on top of that, they still had to hold off the endless dark beasts pressing in from all sides.
"Just move them over, no need for precise calibration. As long as they can fire a few shots, that’s enough."
Nash didn’t need large-scale defensive weapons to serve as proper defense, but rather as a deterrent and support.
If a fight broke out, the Void Pulse and the other tier 8 battleships would still be the main force.
Furthermore, the large-scale defensive weapons had the property of absorbing surrounding void energy, which could effectively minimize the energy emitted by the sun star void.
Relaying his orders, Nash had Atom turn back.
They had to quickly clear all planetary systems around the sun star void and set up the defensive perimeter.
He had a premonition that multiple cosmic teams would soon be knocking.
---
A few weeks later, as Nash expected, another cosmic team appeared and tried to force its way in.
However, this time, with a large-scale defensive weapon pointed at them, they didn’t even say a word before scurrying off.
The power of a large-scale defensive weapon was no joke. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Though similar in ranking to a tier 8 battleship, its firepower could rival that of a tier 9.
If not for the difficulty of setting one up and its limited range, it could be used as a regular weapon to clear entire sections of the wild void area.
"It worked! Commander still had a few tricks!"
Watching from the side, the Generals of Defense, Castor and Dren, were filled with excitement.
The large-scale defensive weapons before them were mere shells, which couldn’t even fire.
Due to time constraints, even with everyone from the Star Alliance working nonstop, they couldn’t fully set up a large-scale defensive weapon in under a month or two.
But following Nash’s orders, they had simply positioned them in place and calibrated a few lower-tier weapons around them.
It seemed the mere sight was enough to frighten the enemy.
