I Don't Agree to the Terms-Chapter 1108 - 583: Metamorphosis, Green Sorrow·Jade Tree
Ruben did not pursue Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy further; after learning the truth, he inwardly cursed their stupidity.
He couldn't believe that Bilic and Nai Ke had hidden such crucial information, and that a bunch of naive apprentices even thought about handing the academy built by Wizards to the nobles, making internal moves only to end up getting dealt with in the end.
These two were just lucky; although they weren't dealt with, they were stripped of their original privileges, and that's why they couldn't stand it and dropped out.
There was never any so-called travel at Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy; it was just an excuse.
In the end, they withheld such a significant matter, likely just to keep him steady.
In their eyes, Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy definitely wouldn't send someone to visit him, so they could continue hiding the truth and leech off him.
More importantly, these two didn't know much, just a few trick-like spells.
He had seen real Magic, like the barrier concealing Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy, which even he couldn't detect.
The two of them followed Ruben closely, not daring to breathe heavily.
After their identities were exposed, if they still dared to act recklessly, with Ruben's temperament, he would tear them apart without hesitation.
It was clear from the academy's attitude that it wouldn't care about their fate.
Initially, they relied on the academy as their backing. Now that Ruben knew the academy wasn't their support and that they had even been troubled by the academy over allegiance issues, their attitude was predictable.
It was already quite generous not to have abandoned them.
On the way back, the two were trembling with fear.
Without Ruben's protection, in the freezing cold, even if they weren't frozen to death, they would die because of issues like food and shelter. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Ruben remained silent, and they shamelessly followed him.
Until they returned to the castle, seeing that Ruben had no extra reaction, they finally breathed a sigh of relief. At least they didn't have to worry about being kicked out. If they were to be expelled, they wouldn't have been brought back.
"How's the situation? Still no findings?" Philas, wrapped tightly like a big fat man, was reluctant to leave the side of the fireplace, frequently adding fuel.
As an ordinary person, she must have poured in a massive amount of resources to survive.
"Found it, but the situation is not optimistic." The tone of Ruben's speech betrayed no emotion, and his expression was calm.
"Did they reject you? That shouldn't be the case, what's the reason?" Philas was puzzled; logically, cooperation would be the best way to overcome this harsh winter.
"Just some minor issues." Ruben didn't elaborate.
This wasn't a glorious matter, and he had his own plans for these two.
Philas didn't press further; Ruben was no longer suffering from the decreased intelligence caused by acquiring the King of Kings status. He had returned to normal thinking.
So, Philas couldn't help much now.
"Why not forcefully take it down? With your power, you could definitely level the entire academy." Philas had confidence in Ruben's strength.
"No, quite the opposite. The power wielded by the Magic Academy is far beyond mine." Ruben did not consider himself powerful but was very clear-minded; he couldn't even detect a barrier, let alone contend with an academy.
Hearing this, Philas looked at Bilic and Nai Ke with a strange expression, inwardly wondering, "How powerful can the academy be if it produced apprentices like them?"
Ruben noticed Philas' gaze and spoke with resignation, "They're too foolish; they dropped out."
"Dropped out? More like expelled." Philas's tone turned unfriendly at this point. Normally, why would anyone choose to drop out? As long as one mastered the power of the Wizards, strength is truth.
Bilic and Nai Ke felt bitter, regretting their decision to drop out.
Although their experiences were indeed uncomfortable, as everything cost money, they could have borrowed some.
The reason for dropping out was simple; they felt they had learned enough, could find a noble patron, become a family retainer, live well, and gain a prominent seat. Why should they continue to serve the academy?
However, reality was completely different from their imagination.
They were only slightly stronger than ordinary people, with no real advantages. Without the academy's supple materials and sophisticated equipment, their success rate in crafting Magic potions or Wizardry tools had hit zero; they couldn't make anything now.
Thus, when facing Philas's hostility, the two dared not speak back.
"At least they've awakened the Magic bloodline; that's still useful." Ruben spoke up to defend them.
Though the two were down and out, and their small spells were of little help now, if there was a way to extract their Magic bloodline and transplant it to Philas and others, it would be beneficial.
Now, these two had only this bit of value left; otherwise, why would Ruben keep them around? To feed them for nothing?
This was beyond his capability; perhaps the Jade Tree could accomplish it.
Ruben knew that his so-called King of Kings bloodline was likely just a variant of the Magic bloodline.
So the Magic bloodline was fundamental, and it was frustrating that Philas and his other siblings and relatives had yet to awaken it.
