I Don't Agree to the Terms-Chapter 1109 - 583: Metamorphosis, Green Sorrow·Jade Tree
The Magic Power lineage isn't guaranteed to awaken; if it can't awaken, it either must be transplanted or stimulated, but unfortunately, he lacks both methods.
Upon hearing this, Philas instantly understood Ruben's intentions, and then she spoke, "I'm truly sorry, I was rude earlier, I hope you'll forgive me. It's so cold that I became disoriented."
She did this, naturally, to steady Bilic and Nai Ke.
The two were initially stunned, expecting further difficulty, but unexpectedly it passed by; with their limited experience, they couldn't possibly understand the thoughts of Ruben and Philas. After entering the academy, being mere illiterate serfs, they found themselves dealing with faction issues and then couldn't endure, leading to dropping out.
What insight could they possibly have.
Further study was even less possible; as part of the second group to enter, they couldn't keep up with regular classes, much less have the spare energy to learn other things, and after falling behind, developed a dislike for studying.
Even that apprentice who thought of dedicating the academy to the nobility was clueless about the most basic warding state, arrogantly content with his own perspective and intelligence.
After Philas first offered a way out, Bilic and Nai Ke were flattered and hurriedly expressed it was not her fault, just a misunderstanding.
Philas still had her ways; she managed to deceive these two unlearned half-baked apprentices, making them not only let go of their grudge but also intensely grateful.
Pure-blood Wizard? There's nothing like the favor of nobility.
"Alright then, if there's nothing else, go downstairs to get some food and rest well, it's been hard on you these past few days," Ruben abruptly said.
Without suspecting anything, the pair thanked them profusely and left. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
However, Philas was somewhat puzzled, feeling that Ruben had discovered something.
"Come out, they're gone, hiding is pointless," Ruben looked towards the shadows nearby.
Philas also followed his gaze, and a silhouette slowly emerged from the shadows.
Tall and burly, as he stepped out of the shadow, his handsome face coupled with a strong physique, even Philas couldn't help but be taken aback.
"I just arrived, saw you giving a lecture, so I didn't disturb," the man spoke with a familiar tone.
"I didn't expect after your transformation you'd turn from a tree into a human," Ruben naturally recognized who this was, the transformed Jade Tree.
"What?! He's the Jade Tree!" Philas was also shocked.
"Of course, but now Jade Tree is my surname, you can call me Green Sorrow."
"Green Sorrow·Jade Tree."
Having changed his name to Green Sorrow, Jade Tree emphasized it.
"Whether you're the Jade Tree or so-called Green Sorrow, are you here to fulfill your promise?" Ruben released an imposing aura from his massive figure, aware that Green Sorrow, in front of him, was very powerful, even slightly stronger than himself.
"Of course, don't worry, I'm not interested in your family."
"I've completed my transformation, no longer need sustenance," Green Sorrow wholly ignored the pressure Ruben emitted.
He outright overlooked it.
"Don't make pointless tests, it seems you've already found Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy, how's the situation?"
Green Sorrow didn't continue to beat around the bush, instead directly addressing the main topic.
Ruben didn't hide anything, concisely summarizing.
"Ha, nobility really isn't any good," Green Sorrow couldn't help but sneer.
"You are nobility too," Ruben reminded, common people don't have surnames, only noble people do.
"You know how many inside me are nobles, how many are commoners." Green Sorrow's expression showed mischief.
He wouldn't indulge Ruben, now that everyone has died out, talking about nobility vs. common people is overly arrogant.
"Having a surname makes one nobility," Ruben emphasized the point.
"I'm not planning to argue these meaningless things with you, in this world now, it's no longer about you nobility or so-called church ruling."
"Unless you plan to let your clansmen endure your oppression."
"Or treat me as one of those commoners you once freely bullied?" Green Sorrow guessed Ruben wouldn't have such notions, but others in the castle might.
"Your state seems off?" Ruben wasn't bothered by Green Sorrow's mockery, instead furrowed his brows, noticing the other seemed peculiar since transforming from tree to human.
"Just some conflicting thoughts." Green Sorrow quickly calmed down, having just transformed, during the process absorbing all sub-bodies, hence appearing strange toward the nobility.
"Can you strip and transplant Magic Power lineage to others?" Ruben asked.
"Oh, that, no," Green Sorrow shrugged, lacking such ability, if he did, those nobles would've long started stripping awakened Magic Power lineage from commoners; his memory comes from fused nourishment within him, not innate feature.
Though Green Sorrow appears as an individual, in fact, he's a new self emerged from the fusion of all nutrition's thoughts and memories.
That's why personality seems volatile, like split personality.
"So what about awakening the Magic Power lineage?" Ruben settled for the next best option.
"Even more so, no." Green Sorrow knew what Ruben had in mind, besides the dull pursuit of restoring Blood Orchid Flying Snake's glory, yet he did add, "Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy surely has it."
"You still believe your birth and my King of Kings lineage is engineered by Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy's hidden hands?" Ruben scoffed at the idea.
He acknowledges Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy's might but doesn't believe they can achieve such.
Green Sorrow wasn't bothered by Ruben's attitude, knowing his origins, from a boy named Isso or the mysterious wanderer scholar he encountered.
Unlike Ruben, who still thinks the King of Kings lineage is their Blood Orchid Flying Snake's heritage.
He didn't correct the other's thoughts, instead saying, "So there's nothing then."
Giving answers yet not believed, insisting, what's the point.
"Nothing?" Ruben's face showed mixed expressions, unsure if Green Sorrow was lying.
Perhaps Green Sorrow spoke truth, or by his superior power managed to deceive Ruben's instincts.
Regardless of which possibility, it's not the answer Ruben wanted.
"Truly no," Green Sorrow wouldn't indulge him, not being one of those commoners at his mercy, even in strength, he outshines Ruben.
"I also plan to visit Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy."
"Lend me one of those two people of yours."
Green Sorrow said matter-of-factly.
This made Ruben furrow his brows, "No need, I'll accompany you."
He suspected Green Sorrow's true aim wasn't visiting but joining them.
Which wouldn't do, if Green Sorrow and Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy joined forces, it'd mean sidelining him, worsening living conditions would then affect him.
Thus he's accompanying to observe, ready to make Green Sorrow pay even if needing to anger Hogwarts Witchcraft Academy.
Direct confrontation would put him at disadvantage, but sneakily, could reckon great harm.
"Of course no problem, with you accompanying, saves a lot of time." Green Sorrow understood Ruben's thoughts yet didn't care, having aces up his sleeve, not fearing any moves from Ruben, including sneak attacks.
