I Evolve By Collecting Infinite Spirits-Chapter 61: Robed Figures
Sin followed him, ’I’ll have Zydrax and Dra’res on the ready just in case...’ He was already not that trusting of a person, but after what happened to him just recently with Ace and all, he was even less trusting.
Still, getting recognized by someone who clearly had some status at a large event like this might have been quite the lucrative opportunity that he didn’t want to miss out on.
Sin followed the robed man all the way out of the marquee from another exit.
This led to a series of alleyways in between several other tents and marquees.
Sin continued to walk through the dark alleyways, following the robed man with his defensive intuition alarming more and more.
’This really doesn’t feel like a good investment of time.’ Sin thought.
Just then, the man turned a corner into another dark alley.
Sin also turned. He saw the robed man in front of him meet up with the other two robed individuals from before.
One of them was sitting on top of an older gentleman who was bent over on the ground.
Sin couldn’t see too clearly, but the man looked to have a busted lip and bruise marks on his face.
Sin’s guard raised to an all-high almost immediately.
All of the robed men turned to face Sin.
Sin turned into the alleyway but didn’t take any more steps forward--as it was a dead end.
He crossed his arms, "What did you want to talk about? Keep it short if you can."
Out of the three-robed men, one was quite short. He was the one sitting atop the older man. The other man was large and bulky, and the one that Sin had been following was taller and lanky.
The lanky man smiled, "Of course..."
The bulky figure walked forward until he arrived just 6 feet away from Sin’s face.
"We know your identity." The man exclaimed, a nonchalant look on his face.
"Oh?" Sin exclaimed, a bit surprised. He barely resided in a single city for more than a week at a time, so for people to know who he was wasn’t expected.
"Sin Alaric Dalroth, correct?" The large man inquired.
Sin nodded.
"Good..." The short man from behind added, both him and the lanky man walking forward.
The older gentleman fell flat onto his stomach as the short man hopped off of his back, panting heavily for air.
Sin saw this and furrowed his brows. He immediately assumed he was going to have to fight here at this point...
"You see," The short man continued, "We are apart of the Blade Hunter group within Solstar. One of the three most powerful Hunter Group organizations."
Sin squinted, ’Blade? That name is familiar...’ He thought to himself.
"We know who you are from intel from our leader, Bao Huxin." The short man explained, "He told us of your immense fighting talent ever since you competed in the Hunter Exam."
Sin recognized where he knew the name ’Blade’ from now. He also remembered Bao, and how the man was impressed at this ability even then.
It wouldn’t be much of a surprise if Bao were to vouch for him.
But still, this current situation and setting was unsettling.
"Our original plan, whenever we met you again, that is, was to recruit you to our Hunter group." The short man continued to speak.
"However, we now have new intel that you have relations with a certain; Lord Magnus." The short man smiled on saying this.
The lanky and bulky men also showed grins on their faces.
"You see, recruiting you would be beneficial to us greatly due to your talent, and especially your connection to Prince Magnus." The lanky man began to speak.
"However, subduing you to our will... that would give us many more benefits."
All three men grinned even more.
Sin didn’t say a word, his jaw simply clenching.
Just then, the older gentleman from behind spoke: "Young man!" He managed to say with hoarse and weak breath, "These men are not who they say they are... don’t trust them. Just run! Run away as far as you ca--" He was cut off.
The short man walked back and stomped his foot on the old man’s back. It immediately pushed all the air in the man’s lungs out, making him wheeze with pain.
"Shut the hell up... damn old merchant. You’re lucky you’re even alive right now." The short man exclaimed, kicking the man against the side of the head.
The old merchant was flung backwards--crashing into a few stacked wooden boxes. He lost his consciousness on impact.
"Subdue to your will huh? I don’t like the sound of that." Sin said, garnering everyone’s attention.
They all stared at him as he spoke: "How about this... you all submit to my will, or die right here."
These men were clearly filled with only evil intent and malice. Sin had already seen how much he needed to see to make the decision on whether he would simply defeat them, or kill them.
After seeing how they treated the old merchant, he decided he was going to kill them all.
’An EXP boost along with waste being cleared from the world? It seems like the morally justified thing to do.’ Sin smiled at the opportunity.
’Lord Sin... if I may.’ Dra’res’ voice suddenly echoed from within Sin’s own head.
’Dra’res? What is it?’ Sin asked on hearing his Spirits voice.
’I want to make them kneel before they die... They should acknowledge who they are speaking to in such a distasteful way before they lose theirbreath forever.’
It was clear to Sin just from hearing Dra’res’ voice that the ogre was fuming with hatred and anger.
It was surprising to see just how moved his Spirit was by others disrespecting him.
Just then, another voice echoed through his mind:
’Blood...’ A deep, guttural voice exclaimed from within.
’Zydrax?’ Sin’s eyelids widened, ’I’ve never heard your voice before. But, I guess these are your thoughts, so you don’t even need to ability to speak.’
Zydrax didn’t say another word. But what he said was enough for Sin to understand exactly what his Spirit wanted.
’So one wants them to kneel... and the other their blood?’ Sin’s smile grew only larger, "So be it." He muttered, walking forward.
