I Fooled The Goddess Into Pitying Me-Chapter 39: Conquest Successful!
Jack ignored Jenna’s voice and turned to the bustling hall. He was stupid to leave the tablet behind, but since the women took the money, there was no point in arguing further.
He was disappointed as he lost the chance to complete the side mission. The ruckus caused wasn’t enough.
And he wasn’t the only one disappointed, either. Anna had been looking forward to the action, hoping some bloodshed would bring Jack’s memories back, but it was all for naught.
"Spineless prick!" Anna muttered, before leaving.
Takeshi bowed to her as she disappeared. The mistress was displeased with the master. The night wouldn’t end well for Jack, but the latter didn’t seem to care.
With the matter resolved, the crowd dispersed, and Jack headed towards the girls. Cindy was the first to rush to his side, showing him the text message for the deposit.
"Five million in a night!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement.
"Good for you," Jack replied, before walking past her.
Cindy was taken aback by Jack’s sudden coldness. She thought he would be happy since she got some money along with the job he had prepared for her.
Oh, no... the job!
Cindy clasped her mouth. In the excitement of earning millions, she forgot all about her accusations. She had accused James of trying to drug her, and since Jack was close to the Oshineda’s, her accusation could ruin their relationship.
What have I done? I need to smooth things over.

Meanwhile, Jack walked toward Mira, but abruptly turned to James first. He wasn’t worried about Cindy’s job, but more about his mission. Since James managed the talent agency, being friends with him would be beneficial.
Finding five thousand women to sleep with isn’t easy, but this should help me a bit.
The plan was straightforward. Use the incident to get close to James, and then use their closeness to get close to the talents within the company.
"Are you alright?" Jack asked James.
"Shaken, but fine," James said, smiling weakly. "Thanks for the help. If it wasn’t for you, who knows what might have happened?"
"Don’t mention it," he said. "I don’t enjoy seeing innocent people dragged into drama. As for Cindy, she’s had a lot on her plate recently. While her actions were unforgivable, I can only urge you to be benevolent."
"Jack!"
Mira and Cindy exclaimed simultaneously as he folded his hands together, bowing pitifully. Even James was suddenly taken aback by his abrupt action.
After all, James was merely an employee of the Oshinedas. Jack, on the other hand, was a business partner. Someone like him didn’t need to apologize to the likes of him.
Jack knew it, and that’s why he made such an exaggerated gesture. He had noticed Cindy approaching them from the corner of his eye and planned it all out. Sure enough, he was rewarded for his efforts.
Cindy stared at him in shock and admiration. For her, someone as mighty as a tycoon was willing to bow and apologize. The sight touched her heart, no; it touched something even deeper, perhaps her soul.
Her eyes glistened with tears as Jack was bombarded with a stream of notifications.

...it wasn’t that bad.
Jack was still reveling in the bonuses offered to him when he felt someone hold his shoulder, trying to lift him.
"Mr. Mills! Please, there’s no need to do this!" James said, panicked.
Jack smiled sheepishly before straightening up, but before he could speak, Cindy rushed to his side, apologizing like Jack had been. Despite trying to maintain his role, Jack couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
What is she up to now?
"James," she said. "I’m... really sorry about earlier. I got emotional and said some things I shouldn’t have. I’m willing to terminate the contract—"
"There’s no need for that," James said, shaking his head. "You made a decision based on the circumstantial evidence. I don’t blame you."
Although James said that, he was only pretending. He had seen Jack and Cindy interact throughout the night and knew they were close.
Since Jack was a business associate of the Oshinedas, James didn’t want to offend him. Hence, he could only accept the apology and seemed magnanimous there. Perhaps it would pay off in the future.

The problem was resolved... somewhat. Mira and James left to check on Mr. Oshineda before Jack had time to chat with her. Not bothering to waste any more time there, Jack, too, headed to drop Cindy off.
Once again, the ride was silent, and Cindy kept stealing glances at him. Jack ignored it before, but not this time, since he wanted to test what Jenna meant by a new stage of love.
But before he could say anything, he felt something.
Cindy was gazing out the window, but her hand was on his knee. Jack looked at the back of her head before looking ahead. If either of the two brutes saw him and reported to Anna, she would hang him by the balls.
Fuck... why now of all times?
The intention behind Cindy’s touch was clear, but it was a shame Jack couldn’t act on it. Well, it wasn’t like he had to, as her hand slowly worked its way up his thigh until her hand rested between his legs.
Calm down—
