I Got A Title: Lord Of The Time!-Chapter 63: Lin and Royal exchange
Chapter 63: Lin and Royal exchange
Whoosh!
Royal made a wide horizontal slash and effortlessly sliced the three-meter monkey into two equal parts!
Whoosh!
Lin raised his katana and instantly brought it down, cleaving through a large monkey!
The monkey’s body slowly began to separate, spilling liters of blood everywhere, along with a few monkey organs that fell to the ground!
"Third," Lin thought and suddenly twisted his whole body back, making a long slash.
Whoosh!
Behind him stood a large monkey, who had raised its arm, intending to kill him. But he had already sensed it, so he made a wide swing and cut the monkey in two!
"Why are they so weak?" Aran easily dodged a monkey’s arm, raised his knee, and struck it in the stomach!
"Aaahhh!" The monkey roared. Though Aran’s strike wasn’t that powerful, it was a deep humiliation for the creature!
It instantly raised its arms and directed them at Aran!
Whoosh!
Its arms tore through the air but didn’t reach Aran. The monkey was confused as to where the human had disappeared, until it looked down and saw Aran smiling brightly and swinging his dagger!
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
With several swift movements, Aran sliced the monkey’s legs into pieces!
When the monkey lost the ability to stand, it began to fall, glaring at Aran with rage. But Aran just smiled, and as the monkey’s head plummeted down, he raised his right knee and with a quick motion, struck it against the monkey’s jaw!
He didn’t stop there and grabbed the monkey’s head, continuously kneeing it in the jaw until it died!
The monkey was dead!
"Ha-ha-ha-ha! They’re really weak..." Aran looked at the other monkeys, who watched his actions in fear.
He smiled brightly and widened one eye, staring at the monkeys with a mad gaze, asking them:
"What are you waiting for? Attack me! Great, proud, strong monkeys of the Dead Lands... You must show what you’re worth..." Aran looked at them all and coldly snorted. "Or I’ll kill you myself."
The monkeys panicked and began to flee deeper into the forest they had come from.
"Why did you scare them off? We could’ve gotten more Low Soul Shards," Lin looked at Aran and said seriously.
Aran laughed.
"Ha-ha-ha. Low Soul Shards are only important to you, Lin. I don’t care about your problems. I just got tired of fighting these stupid creatures and wanted to rest already."
Anger started rising in Lin’s chest, but he managed to hold it in. Ignoring Aran, he began slicing open monkey skulls, hoping to get a Low Soul Shard.
"I killed four monkeys in total... At least one Low Soul Shard should drop... Hm?" Lin was examining the monkeys he had killed until he noticed a strange chest near one of the corpses.
It was a Beast Chest! ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com
"I haven’t seen one of these in a while..." Lin smiled and approached one of the monkey corpses, reaching for the strange chest.
Looking at the surreal chest, Lin saw that its design was unique. A chest from a wolf had the design of a wolf. A chest from an eagle had the design of an eagle. And this one, naturally, resembled a monkey. It looked a bit comical and strange.
But the chest’s appearance didn’t bother Lin — what mattered to him was what was inside.
"Oh? So you got lucky and found a Beast Chest?" Aran came up to Lin and looked at the chest in his hands with interest.
Lin ignored Aran’s interest, stood up, and continued opening the skulls of the monkeys he had just killed.
After opening the heads one by one, Lin eventually sat down near a large lake with a waterfall nearby and looked at his hands.
In them was one Low Soul Shard.
Out of four monkeys killed, he managed to obtain only one Low Soul Shard.
But it was something, at least.
He sighed and washed the blood and dirt off his hands, which he had gotten from opening the monkey heads.
While he was doing this, two figures approached him: Aran and Royal, who also sat down nearby to wash the blood from their hands.
"Lin, you got lucky getting one Low Soul Shard and a Beast Chest," Aran smirked, looking at his empty hands.
"Unfortunately, I wasn’t lucky enough to get anything..." he sighed.
Royal looked at Aran and snorted.
"If you hadn’t scared them off, you might have gotten something. Even though I only killed six monkeys, I got two Low Soul Shards."
Lin’s eyes lit up when he heard Royal’s words. He looked straight at him and pointed to the Beast Chest in his hand, which was the size of a human head.
"Want to trade? You give me two Low Soul Shards, and I’ll give you the Beast Chest. You probably don’t need Soul Shards for your skill or to move up in rank. So the Beast Chest is more valuable — there could be a rare Distorted item inside."
Royal shook his head and replied:
"Not a bad offer, but only if it’s a Distorted item — not just a Beast Chest. I’m not going to spend two Low Soul Shards for a chance at a "rare" item. Open it now. If you get something truly valuable, I’ll consider it."
Aran nodded several times.
"Yes, yes! Open it already. I’m curious too!"
Lin sighed and had no choice but to open the chest to see what he would get.
[Would you like to open the Beast Chest?]
—[Yes]—[No]—
Lin thought: "Yes", and in front of his eyes appeared a circle with three sections in three different colors, indicating the rarity of the item: White, Grey, and Green.
The circle spun rapidly at first, then gradually slowed down, and eventually stopped on the White section, which meant Lin had received a White item.
[Success! Lin Matrix received "Warm Monkey Fur Coat"!]
[Warm Monkey Fur Coat.]
[Rarity: White.]
[Ability: Retains heat very well and can be used long-term.]
[Description: Warmth... We love warmth...]
"Interesting..."
A large white fur coat appeared in Lin’s hand, and to the touch it was incredibly pleasant. It felt like he was touching high-quality silk instead of regular monkey fur.
Naturally, Aran and Royal also saw the suddenly appearing white coat in Lin’s hands and immediately realized it was the item he had received from the Beast Chest.
"Interesting... So what are its properties? It looks quite attractive," Aran looked at the coat and asked.
Lin immediately responded:
"It retains heat very well and looks quite nice."
"So? Ready to sell it? I don’t really need it, but for you — your clothes are already in bad condition — this would be perfect," he asked, looking at Royal.
Royal thought for a moment and replied:
"It does seem pretty good. But I’m only willing to give one Low Soul Shard."
Lin frowned.
"For such a necessary item, you’re only offering one Soul Shard?"
Royal nodded.
"Yes. Lin, I know the prices of Distorted items and Soul Shards very well. Your coat, while nice, isn’t worth even a single Low Soul Shard. I’m only offering because I actually need it."
Lin sighed and nodded.
"Fine," he said, handing the coat to Royal, who in return gave him one Low Soul Shard.
Holding two Low Soul Shards in his hands, Lin smiled.
"Pleasure doing business with you."
Royal nodded and put the snowy white coat on himself, looking like a very wealthy man — which he indeed was.
"Lin, I like you more and more."
Aran laughed.
"I love all of you too!"
