Chapter 141: She Disappeares

When Samuel returned after buying the drinks he and Megan needed, he found that she was no longer at the table where he had left her. There was only the food they had eaten earlier without her there.

Of course it confused him, because he had no idea where Megan had gone. She hadn’t contacted him by cell phone or mentioned that she might have gone to the bathroom earlier.

"Should I just wait? Maybe she did go to the bathroom for a while. But does she know where the bathrooms are around this festival venue?" he asked in confusion and tried to call the woman.

But the phone didn’t pick up, and suddenly lost signal as if the phone was switched off. This made Samuel even more worried, especially since they were in a public place where there were a lot of people who could have done something to his girlfriend.

Feeling very worried, he tried to stay calm. Samuel went looking for Megan in the public bathroom there. Hoping that she was there.

But from all the queues and women coming out of the bathroom, there was no sign of Megan. He also asked one of the women who had just come out of the bathroom while showing her a photo.

"Did you see this woman in the bathroom? She wasn’t seen around me so I was looking for her," Samuel asked her.

"I’m sorry but I don’t think that woman was inside. I was changing my makeup by the sink and there were a lot of women coming in and out of the bathroom but I didn’t see this woman inside," explained the woman Samuel questioned.

He then left the bathroom area and immediately called his men whom he could reach. He asked 10 of his men to come and help search for Megan at the festival site.

"I want you to find her, search every corner of the Festival and make sure you don’t miss a single spot," he ordered, which his men immediately followed.

Even so, he didn’t stop looking and continued to wander around the area, trying to find Megan. He even went as far as asking people there while showing a picture of his girlfriend but no one recognized her.

Until finally he met a man carrying a camera and he recognized Megan’s face.

"Oh this woman, I accidentally took a picture of her while I was photographing another cosplayer. I remember she was near the second entrance of the Festival. You know the area not far from the second parking lot?"

"You mean the parking lot of that unused warehouse? Isn’t that place very quiet and rarely visited and not even many people use it?" Samuel asked.

The man with the camera nodded his head, and indeed he happened to be there with other cosplayers looking for a quiet place to take pictures but Megan was there by accident.

He showed him the photo where Samuel saw his girlfriend behind the cosplayer in the photo. He can see Megan’s confused face because she couldn’t find her way back.

Seeing the photo, Samuel immediately ran towards the unused warehouse which was quite far away because it was at the second door of the Festival.

"Kitten! Megan! Are you here? Answer me if you’re around!" he shouted her name but he got no answer.

The place was completely empty, as it was rarely passed by many people except those who came from the other side of town and parked their cars there.

"Damn it, where is she?! I can’t possibly be at peace if she disappears like this! I need to find her before something bad happens to her!"

He and his men continued to drive around the area but still nothing after 2 hours of driving around. It must have made him very frustrated and angry that he couldn’t find Megan.

"Could someone have taken her away, Mr. Lorenzo? Maybe she was kidnapped by someone that’s why she’s not in this area," said one of Samuel’s men who found it strange that if Megan was indeed lost, she should still be in the area around the Festival.

But she wasn’t anywhere and she didn’t even answer Samuel’s calls. Her cell phone was off and something must have happened to her.

"Then expand the search. Call the others, I want her found immediately!"

Until finally several hours passed but there was still no clue to find her. Samuel had deployed many of his men to search for Megan around the city but there was still nothing about it.

And in the afternoon, while Samuel was still busy looking for his girlfriend, a call came in and it was from Odelia.

"Damn it, she’s calling me! What if they ask me about Megan instead?" he muttered.

But since he had no other choice and there was no way he could intentionally turn off the phone, Samuel answered the call and heard Odelia’s voice from there.

"Sam, how are you doing? Are you with Megan right now?" Odelia asked as Samuel expected because he knew that his sister would ask about his girlfriend.

"Since this morning, she’s been unreachable and doesn’t even reply to my messages anymore. Sean was also very worried about his situation, that’s why I called you because I thought he must be with you right now," she continued to explain.

"Yes, she is with me, but her cell phone is off because she forgot to charge it last night. That’s why her phone battery drained so quickly," Samuel replied trying to make an excuse.

But he forgot that they would ask to speak to Megan right then and there. Samuel again reasoned that Megan was currently going to the bathroom so he couldn’t give her his cell phone.

"I remember she has a power bank, there’s no way she wouldn’t have brought it with her and let her phone run out of battery. Megan really liked her cell phone," said Sean, who was next to Odelia because he also wanted to know how his sister was doing.

Samuel continued to tell lie after lie to cover up what was really happening to the two of them. Sean and Odelia believed Samuel’s words even though they were surprised that Megan didn’t speak to them after a few minutes.

Until finally one of his men accidentally spoke until it was heard over the phone.

"We still can’t find Miss Megan anywhere. Even in the corners of the city she’s nowhere to be seen," said the man reporting what he and his friends had searched around the city.

"Looking for Megan? Wait didn’t you say that she went to the bathroom so why did one of your men say that he had checked every corner of the city but still couldn’t find her?" asked Sean who became suspicious of the situation.

Odelia also tried to pressure Samuel into telling the truth about Megan’s current whereabouts.

And because of that he couldn’t lie anymore and told him what had happened until Megan disappeared from his sight and for several hours he still couldn’t find her.

This news was quite shocking for both of them, especially Sean who was Megan’s older brother.

"How could you lose her?! You shouldn’t have left her alone in a crowd like that!" he scolded Samuel and you could hear Odelia trying to calm him down.

"I know I was stupid, I shouldn’t have left him alone. But at the time I was thinking of just leaving for a while and coming back with the drinks we bought. Turns out she wasn’t there when I got back," explained the mobster trying to explain the situation.

But Sean didn’t want to hear Samuel’s apology, but he wanted him to find Megan immediately. To make sure that she was okay and that nothing had happened to her.

"I entrusted her to you, blessing the relationship between the two of you. But is this what it’s all about? She was so excited when she left Zondalian just to meet you." It could be heard how Sean raised his tone of voice in annoyance when he found out that Megan was missing.

The only family member he had was currently in an unknown place. That’s why he threatened Samuel to find Megan immediately or he would follow him there to beat him up.

"I want you to find her immediately and bring her back to my house. Don’t make my patience run thin because of this."

He had no choice but to do as Sean said and find Megan wherever she was. Hoping that Megan would be found soon.

On the other hand, Megan finally woke up after she was knocked unconscious by someone. When she opened her eyes she saw that her hands and feet were tied to a chair.

She then looked around the room with a confused look. She didn’t remember going to that place before and why would they tie her up?

"Where am I?"
