Chapter 71: Something Look Weird

Sean walked around the restaurant holding his daughter to see the sights. He would point out whatever was there to Carmelia even though the baby girl didn’t understand anything yet.

He thought it was a great place for his family to spend time together. That’s why he brought them to have lunch there.

"Are you getting sleepy? Then go to sleep," he said as he patted her body.

He turned to Odelia who was at the dining table where they had lunch earlier. It seemed that she was chatting with Megan and he smiled at how Odelia was enjoying her lunch.

Sometimes he thought that she must be exhausted looking after their daughter. Not to mention having to do homework and everything else. Therefore he would help Odelia whenever he had time and at times like this he wanted his wife to enjoy lunch without having to struggle to look after Carmelia.

"Let your mother rest for a while. So if you’re sleepy, sleep in my arms," he said gently to Carmelia.

While he was busy putting his daughter to sleep, suddenly a woman came up to him and called out to him.

"Sean? What are you doing here?" asked the woman who made him look back and see that the woman was with several people who seemed to be her friends.

"Sophie, I didn’t think I’d see you here," he said when he saw that one of his company workers was in the same restaurant as him right now.

"Neither did I. I just finished lunch with my friends and you were here too."

The woman’s friends left first to go home while Sophie remained there to chat with Sean.

From a distance Odelia noticed that there was a woman standing near her husband at the moment. She wondered, who was this woman? It was impossible for a strange woman to be talking to Sean in a place like this.

Seeing Odelia’s eyes fixed on Sean, Megan also looked there and it turned out that Odelia was watching the brown-haired woman who was standing together with Sean.

"Who is that woman? Do you know her?"

"Oh that’s Sophie, she’s one of the managers she works for at TechnOzone. She always acts like she’s the most beautiful woman in the company. You better be careful and watch out for her because I often see her flirting with Sean," replied Megan who told her that she was often seen flirting with her brother when they met at banquets.

Knowing that, Odelia was reminded of Sean’s story about a woman named Sophie who had Sean come to her birthday invitation at the hotel where she and Sean first met.

’So this is Sophie? She does look pretty and it’s no wonder that she thinks she’s the most beautiful woman in the company. But if she’s flirting with Sean, isn’t that not a good thing especially since Sean is her boss,’ she thought at the time.

Odelia knew that this kind of thing often happened, especially since she had also been the personal secretary of a CEO. She often saw many female employees who had beautiful faces trying to get their bosses’ attention.

Like flirting, deliberately looking sexy and others to get praise and maybe a promotion because their boss or boss is interested in them. It’s even worse if they become mistresses or one night stands for the sake of the position.

It was like an open secret in the company.

’Luckily Mr. Daniel back then was very strict and even grumpy. He’s not even happy to see me wearing a skirt that’s too short,’ she thought.

Sophie’s eyes then glanced at the baby in Sean’s hand, she already knew that it was the baby that the company was talking about and even had a small party to congratulate. Now she saw firsthand what the baby looked like.

"Where’s the mother? Why do you have to hold her?" he asked.

"She’s over there, having lunch with Megan."

She turned her head towards the two women who had noticed her earlier, her eyes narrowed to look at Odelia as she slowly realized who she was.

’She’s... She’s the woman who was at the hotel that night! She was the one who brought Sean into his room when I should have brought him there. Tch, so is it true that night they ended up having sex?!’ she thought irritably while clenching her fists in annoyance.

Because Carmelia was looking for milk, Sean finally decided to take her back to Odelia. Sophie, who saw the opportunity, followed him from behind because she wanted to know clearly the woman who had stolen her opportunity.

"Odelia, Carmelia seems sleepy and wants some milk," said Sean.

"Oh really? Okay. It just so happens that I’ve finish my food," she said and took her daughter. "Hello dear, are you sleepy? Do you want some milk? Hmn?"

He helped get a cloth and covered Odelia’s exposed chest while breastfeeding Carmelia. "Thank you, dear."

"So what are you doing here?" Megan asked Sophie who had followed Sean.

"Oh I just wanted to make Mrs. Osbert’s acquaintance. I’ve never met her before so I wanted to say hello and get to know her," Sophie replied and then turned to Odelia.

She introduced herself as Sophie Addison, saying she had worked with Sean for a while and was good friends with him although Sean didn’t think so.

Megan rolled her eyes, hearing Sophie’s overconfidence in her words. She had never liked women like Sophie who seemed like seductresses.

"Oh hello Sophie, my name is Odelia. I’m sorry I couldn’t shake your hand because I was breastfeeding. So you’re a close friend of Sean’s, I just found out," Odelia said.

’I never even considered it,’ Sean thought as he heard her.

"You can say that. So how long have you and Sean known each other? He never said anything about having a wife before."

"I’ve never mentioned anything about my personal life, we’ve never even talked about anything more than work," Sean said as he folded his arms across his chest.

Getting a response like that, Sophie was not happy even though she was certain that the night Odelia had brought Sean was the first time they had met.

That meant they hadn’t known each other for more than a year, unlike her who had known Sean for a very long time.

’I shouldn’t have let him go alone that night after I made sure the drug was working on him.’
