I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 73: Worried About Her
Time continued to pass and fortunately until now Vincent had not done anything strange to attract Odelia back. They began to breathe a little easier, although they couldn’t lower their guard because he could have done this on purpose to make them feel that everything was over.
The guard at Sean’s house was still in place, even wherever Odelia went there would be someone following her to look after her.
"So how are they doing now? I want to hear everything clearly from you," said a man talking to Megan over the phone.
"Everything is fine so far, Odelia and Carmelia are also at home quietly. But it’s clear that things aren’t over as long as the man hasn’t signed the divorce papers," Megan explained.
"I really wanted to go over there and beat him up for doing such a bad thing to my sister. But I can’t leave Dormania because I have so many important things to take care of here."
Megan leaned back in her chair as she chatted with Samuel about Odelia’s problems. She herself didn’t know how to get Vincent to cooperate to left Odelia alone and sign the divorce papers. She felt sure that he would even sell his soul to the devil if necessary to get Odelia back.
And that’s something he really dislikes, and he really wants to help do something about it. Unfortunately his job as a mafia man kept him busy to the point that he couldn’t go to Zondalia to do just that.
"No problem, I can understand your work which must be very busy and dangerous. It’s safe enough here in Odelia because Sean hired people with more skills to guard the house," Megan said as she worked on her own work on the table.
That morning she was in her office at her company because she was going to meet with a client who had hired her services. So she came to the company and prepared what she would say later.
But a call from Samuel came in and Megan felt she couldn’t ignore the call. So she answered the phone and chatted with Samuel while doing the rest of her work.
"Why are you calling me anyway and not asking Odelia directly? Don’t you miss your sister and miss me more that’s why you’re calling me," she teased.
There was a rough sighing sound from the phone, which made her chuckle in defeat knowing that the man was annoyed by her remark.
"It was wrong of me to ask you? I called you because if I asked Odelia directly, she wouldn’t answer my question."
She said that she knew that. But she was also happy to hear his voice again. They talked to each other in between their work. To be honest Samuel also missed Megan quite a bit because the few days when he was at Sean’s house, he had someone he could talk to and tease each other with.
Since Samuel had to finish his work, he ended the call and Megan could finally focus on what was on her desk.
For some reason after just 15 minutes of the phone being switched off, Megan felt so lonely in her room alone. When she wanted to talk to Samuel, she felt like someone was there to keep her company.
"Why do I keep thinking about him? I should be focusing on my work because the client is coming in 30 minutes. I’d better hurry up so I can give him my best later," she muttered.
But again and again she thought about Samuel. She wondered if he actually had a girlfriend, there must be a lot of women who would like to have a mafia lover. Or maybs he have a fiance? Mafia life is famous for their arranged marriages, right?
"He’s also handsome, tall and his voice is quite attractive. He’s a bit annoying like Sean, but he’s not bad either. There must be many beautiful women who want to be with him," she said while drawing on the paper.
She actually drew the man’s face with her pen, it would look like she missed him a lot. She stared at her own drawing and focused on Samuel’s face.
"He’s very handsome, isn’t he?" asked a woman standing behind Megan and looking at the picture.
"Yes, he is very handsome but annoying. But I miss him," replied Megan who suddenly realized the voice of the woman who asked her.
Reflexively she looked back with a surprised face to see her secretary standing behind her at the moment with a teasing face.
"Are you done fantasizing, Miss Megan?" the secretary asked with a smile.
"S-since when have you been here? I’m not fantasizing, I’m just..." her face flushed with embarrassment as she was caught looking at the drawing of Samuel’s face she had made on her paper.
Her secretary said that she had been there for 5 minutes, but Megan didn’t turn around when she called out to her. She then said that her client had arrived, so she tried to wake him up.
Of course that surprised her, as her daydreaming meant that the client had to wait outside for 5 minutes until she woke up and let him in.
The door to her office opened to reveal a handsome man with dark hair and blue eyes. She stood up from her chair to shake his client’s hand.
Megan felt she recognized his face, but she hadn’t heard the client’s name.
"Good morning, sir. Welcome to my company and I’m sorry if I kept you waiting because something unexpected happened," Megan said as she shook the man’s hand.
"No problem, I’m used to you daydreaming a lot but you have a lot of creativity."
She was astonished by the client’s remark as if the man knew her well. Out of curiosity, she politely asked about the client’s name.
"Have you forgotten me? I’m Henry Carlova. Do you remember me now?"
"Henry Carlova?" Megan tried to remember the name and slowly her memory surfaced about the client. "You’re Henry Carlova from Bellaria High School? One of the notorious bullies at the school back then, right?"
Now she remembered very clearly that the man in front of her was a schoolmate with whom she had memories.
Henry chuckled when he heard the words from Megan who remembered him as a bully.
"Finally you remember me. What everyone says is true, you’re getting prettier, Megy."
