I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 85: The Victory We Waiting For
The second trial took quite a long time, but not as long as the first. And just as they expected, Odelia won the case and she was officially divorced from Vincent as stated in her demand letter.
She was so happy, and kept thanking Luke for helping her win the case.
"Thank you very much, Mr. Luke, it’s all thanks to you," she said as she thanked the lawyer.
"You don’t need to thank me because I only helped you. You won because you deserved it," Luke replied.
Odelia nodded with a happy smile, finally free from the nightmare that had been haunting her. She closed her eyes, imagining Sean’s smile when he heard this good news.
’Sean we won, you must be very happy, right?’
Although he knew that the man was not in a good condition, he was sure that if the accident had not happened, Sean would have been very happy to hear it.
However, this was not the case for Vincent who was sentenced to rehabilitation for his disorder after his psychology test. Plus he had to pay $10 million to Odelia.
Of course, this affected the reputation of Yozara’s company. But for Samantha and Alice, they believe that Vincent really needs a professional to help him with his messy mind.
They truly realized that they had made a big mistake that had a big effect on the man.
"This is not right! This can’t happen and I shouldn’t lose! Odelia was mine from the start and why should I fight for the woman who was mine from the start! Sean took her away from me!" Vincent shouted angrily in the courtroom.
"Mr. Percy calm down, the trial is over and the results have been announced. You’d better accept this or your sentence will be aggravated."
But still Vincent did not want to accept this and immediately stood up from his chair to approach Odelia. Feeling that it would threaten the prosecution, they tried to stop him.
With a face full of anger and also pain in his eyes, he tried to reach Odelia who actually looked frightened because of him. There were even three guards who had to restrain Vincent so that he would not approach Odelia.
"Let me go! Let me go, you damn people! I just want to talk to my Odelia, I just want to be with her!"
"She’s no longer your wife, you have to accept the defeat you’ve got, Mr. Percy. What you’re doing right now is only making things harder for you. Plus you are forbidden to be around her after this trial," said Luke who was trying to protect Odelia.
Because of the commotion, Vincent was threatened with one month in jail for making a scene in the courtroom. This was not what Odelia wanted, but Vincent continued to rebel.
She stood up from her chair and approached the man who was now officially her ex-husband.
"Please accept what is in front of you now. I gave you the chance to love me in the past but you were unable to protect me from the people you love too. I never forbade you to let your mother and sister live with us but you never thought about my feelings," Odelia said at the time.
She expressed her gratitude for being together before and wished Vincent all the best. She was sure he could find a much better woman than her, and she wanted Vincent to also undergo treatment so that he would no longer experience infertility and get better mentally.
"Even though we parted ways, I never once hated you. And I really want to thank you for the 6 years we were together. Now that we have to take our own paths, goodbye."
She then turned to leave with her lawyer, leaving the courtroom as Vincent kept calling her name.
"ODELIA! ODELIA!"
The man even broke down in tears, asking Odelia to come back to him and he promised not to repeat the same mistake. He asked for a second chance, but unfortunately there was no second chance for him.
"Why is it that you can get a second chance by living happily together with Osbert and your child, but I can’t get a second chance with you! Why did you choose your second chance with someone else and not me?!"
"Why did you choose him over me!"
But Odelia didn’t say anything and continued to walk away together with Luke, surely she herself felt that what Vincent said was true.
However, this was the reality that he had to accept and fate had brought Odelia to no longer be with him.
Outside the courthouse, Odelia once again thanked Luke for helping her. She also thanked him on behalf of Sean as he wasn’t there.
"You’re welcome, I hope with this you can live your life well. I can see that someone is honest and trustworthy. Then I have to go pick up my daughter," he said.
"Well thank you again and see you again. Maybe we’ll meet on the street or somewhere else." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
He nodded and left. The woman looked up at the blue sky, feeling relieved but also a little guilty after hearing what Vincent had said about a second chance for her.
She knew that everyone deserved one, but that didn’t mean staying with someone who had given them a chance in the past.
"I’m sorry Vin. This is the path you have to face."
Odelia then stopped a taxi and headed home. At home she met her mother and Carmelia who were waiting for her.
"How did it go, Odelia?" asked Dasha while holding her granddaughter.
"I did it, mom. I won," she replied with a happy smile.
Dasha was happy when she heard that. She always wished Odelia the best, even though her future son-in-law was currently in a coma. She hoped Sean would wake up soon and hear the good news.
She knew he was a good man, Dasha was sure Sean was struggling to wake up. She was sure that Sean would fight for his wife, their daughter and his sister.
Three women who loved him very much.
’Wake up, Sean. You said you wanted to bring my daughter into your holy marriage, didn’t you? Get up and take her hand.’
