Chapter 86: Time Goes On

It’s been a few months since the last trial where Odelia won her case. Carmelia is now 7 months old, but there is still no sign of Sean waking up from his coma.

He was still lying in the hospital, without a single clue as to when he would open his eyes again. Even the company had to be held by the deputy CEO.

What Odelia was worried about was Carmelia, who had been looking for Sean’s whereabouts for the past three months. The baby couldn’t call out to her father yet, but she seemed to be looking for something that was usually always with her.

She looked around but didn’t find the person she was looking for. Odelia realized that her daughter missed her father.

"Last night Megan went on another date with Henry. I think they’re getting closer to each other, it’s just that sometimes I feel like there are things Megan is keeping from me. I didn’t forbid them to go because I think it’s a good idea for Megan to put her mind at ease," Odelia said as she engaged Sean in conversation.

She rubbed the back of his hand and faithfully waited by Sean’s side almost every day. The doctor advised her not to wait every day, if there was any change in the man then they would inform Odelia. But she still came to look after her husband.

Luckily Dasha understood her daughter’s feelings, and left her noodle shop to her new worker to keep it running while she was in Zondalian.

"Carmelia kept looking for you. I know babies don’t have strong memories that even last long. But when you’re not by her side, she really loses you."

Until now Odelia had not given up on waiting for Sean to open his eyes again.

Even though it felt so lonely when every night she had to sleep alone without Sean next to her. Sometimes she even sleeps on the sofa in the hospital room to keep waiting whenever he opens his eyes.

She also helped clean Sean’s body by wiping it with a wet cloth to keep it clean.

"After you wake up, I want us to spend time together just you and me at least having dinner together. I’ll tell you all the things you’ve missed in the past three months. I...."

Her tears flowed again because she felt so sad every time she had to think about when Sean would wake up from his coma.

But for now she felt much better for not being bothered by Vincent anymore. Since the last trial, she had not heard anything from him and even Samantha and Alice had chosen to leave and live in other areas of Zondalian.

She hoped Vincent would be better after his rehabilitation.

Although she was worried that Vincent would have to go through everything alone with no one by his side at the moment. It was a little strange when Odelia thought that Vincent needed someone to accompany him, through his difficult time of rehabilitation and even treatment for his barrenness.

She had even thought of accompanying him to do all those things. However, she knew that it was not the right thing to do especially now that Sean also needed her.

In the end, she could only hope that one day Vincent would return to the way he was when they first met. A good man, gentle and also very understanding.

Knock knock

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, making him turn his head and he allowed whoever it was to enter. Once the door was opened, it turned out to be Ronald, Sean’s secretary.

"Good afternoon Mrs. Osbert, am I disturbing you?"

"Not at all, come in."

The man entered the room and it turned out that he did not come alone but with a woman, Sophie. Sophie was seen coming in with a sardonic face looking at Odelia as if she was the bearer of bad luck.

"Oh Miss Sophie, you came here to see Sean. Please come in," Odelia said, inviting the two of them to come inside.

They both looked at Sean who was still closing his eyes on the hospital bed. Several devices were attached to the man, leaving Ronald still feeling guilty about what had happened.

Sophie, on the other hand, felt that all of this was Ronald’s fault. Why did he let his boss drive the car when it was his job even though he was a secretary?

Ronald should have been in that position and not Sean. Especially with the existence of Odelia who was also a bad luck charm for Sean. She could think like that because she heard someone say that to him.

"Odelia is just a bad luck charm. She’s already ruined someone’s life and I’m sure soon the life of Sean of bird will end up the same as men." that was the sentence she heard from a woman after she had looked up information about Odelia.

"Has there been no change at all in Mr. Sean?" asked Ronald.

"So far nothing, but I’m sure he’ll be getting better by the day as his wounds start to heal too. I’m sure once he’s fully recovered, I can gather his strength again to wake up from his coma," replied Odelia while trying to think positively if that was what was preventing Sean from waking up.

Sophie, however, said that it had nothing to do with it at all. Odelia shouldn’t have said that just to give Ronald false hope and comfort him because it was supposed to be his fault.

"There’s no need to say things like that, even Ronald himself admits that it’s his fault. He shouldn’t have let the suit drive so something like this wouldn’t have happened," Sophie said, causing Ronald to pause and determine his head.

Hearing what the woman said, Odelia felt unhappy and uncomfortable because Sophie seemed to really blame Ronald for this incident. As Ronald said, Sean had offered to do it and Odelia believed it because she knew what her husband was like.

"Please don’t say things like that. Ronald is completely innocent because no one knew that this accident would happen. Even the truck driver is in jail because he was the one who was negligent in driving and caused this terrible accident," she said trying to defend her husband’s secretary.

Sophie remained unhappy with Odelia’s answer and simply stood on the other side of where Odelia and Ronald were currently standing.

’Heh, from the start you were even the jinx here. I should have been the one to make love to Sean, have his child and be his wife, but you took all that away from me!’ she thought with annoyance.

Odelia could only watch silently, hoping that Sophie wouldn’t say anything bad later.
