I Kill to Get All SSS Abilities: From Outcast to Awakened-Chapter 89: Wooden Box
These guests were prominent figures in business and politics, and some were here with their spouse or partner.
They were well dressed in their best-looking lavish suits and gowns.
But it wasn’t enough as they were overshadowed by Emma when the team entered the main hall.
Emma looked gorgeous with her head full of red hair and her bright red attire.
She held her head up and pouted her lips, which were sporting bright red lipstick.
The other female guests weren’t too happy; some stared at her and some of them could only gossip among themselves.
One of the male guests, after some hesitation, came up with two drinks in his hands and he tried to pass one of them to Emma.
Emma smiled and took the drink.
The other male guests, upon seeing this, went into a frenzy and jostled to ask Emma for a dance. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Emma smiled and side-eyed over to the other members of the team.
The commotion was a great cover for the other members to start searching for Dr. Uwe.
Lukas and Harianto started to move towards the east side of the mansion.
At the same time, Riley and Rex got moving towards the west side of the building.
The east side of the mansion was where Peter Lim kept most of his collections.
There were paintings and sculptures lined on both sides of the long alleyway.
"There’s a CCTV over there." Lukas pointed at a camera overhead in the middle of the alleyway.
With his ability, Harianto might be able to gather some footage from the mansion’s security network.
Harianto nodded and they walked towards the camera.
Both pretended to marvel at the paintings and sculptures as they moved along.
When servants of the mansion walked by with drinks and food for the guests, they stopped and pretended to talk about the art piece in front of them.
This worked as the servants didn’t think much of it.
When they got to where the camera was located, Harianto raised his hand at the camera.
A white glow appeared from his hand and the white glow darted at the camera.
Lukas kept a lookout while Harianto focused on getting the video footage from the security network.
Thud.
Suddenly footsteps came from the end of the alleyway.
Harianto immediately stopped what he was doing and placed his hand onto the wall.
"Is your friend all right?" The servant who was pushing a cart full of bottles of wine asked when he saw Harianto facing the wall and had his hands on it.
"He just had a little too much to drink, you know, the usual when the party gets going. I will help him when he is ready." Lukas smiled at the servant and said.
Harianto pretended to stagger a bit and waved his hand at the servant.
The servant scanned both Lukas and Harianto.
Seeing that they were well dressed in their suits, the servant didn’t think much of it and pushed his cart along.
After the servant disappeared into the other end of the alleyway, Harianto quickly continued what he was doing.
Images came into his mind.
There were images of people setting up for the party and Harianto dug into videos that were much further back.
It was mostly mundane daily activities, servants operating and keeping the mansion in shape.
Finally, he saw something that was unusual.
A van stopped at the entrance of the main hall and men unloaded a big wooden box half the height of an adult.
They carried the wooden box and turned towards the west side of the mansion.
The wooden box was then lifted onto the second floor of the mansion and into a room.
It stopped there as there weren’t any cameras inside the room.
"There was a wooden box transported here. It was put into the first room on the mansion’s second floor on the west side."
Harianto spoke and the earbuds picked it up, transmitting what he said to the other team members.
"Let’s go." Lukas said to Harianto and both proceeded to make their way to the west side of the mansion.
On the west side of the mansion, Riley and Rex glanced over at each other after they heard Harianto.
There were guards standing at the bottom of the staircase, rejecting entry for anyone.
They would have to figure out a way to get through the guards.
"There are guards blocking entrance to the second floor." Riley said.
Lukas, who received Riley’s message via the earbuds, started to think of something.
"Wait for us to arrive. And when you see us, shout at each other and start a commotion. Emma, get ready to unleash something in the main hall after that."
He said as that was the only thing he could come up with in such a short moment.
"Got it. Seize the opportunity and sneak up to the second floor." Riley immediately knew what Lukas was up to.
When Lukas and Harianto passed through the main hall, Emma, who was dancing with one of the guests, nodded at them.
She was also prepared to start a commotion to help them when the time was right.
"What do you mean you can’t pay for the goods?" Riley shouted at Rex when he saw Lukas and Harianto enter the west side of the mansion.
The four guards standing at the entrance of the staircase and guests who were nearby turned around to see what was happening.
"We’ve been doing business for so long and you can’t trust me?" Rex shouted back at Riley and pulled Riley towards him by his shirt collar.
The guards smirked and watched the commotion that was going on.
They’d been bored out of their minds for the whole day, and they definitely didn’t mind some entertainment to pass their time.
"Let go of me!" Riley shouted and threw a punch at Rex’s shoulder.
But Rex lifted Riley up into the air with his hands, and he gave out a loud roar.
"Damn you!"
Rex threw Riley in the direction of the guards.
Thud.
Riley slammed into two of the guards and knocked them off their feet.
The other two guards weren’t too happy about it, and they tried to catch hold of Riley.
