Chapter 175: Returning

"...Madam Gao’s right. I’m completely free," Yi Chen said while forcing out a smile.

All the plans which he had made in his mind to fully utilise the remaining days of his 10x comprehension buff all went down the drain at this moment.

’It can’t be helped. I’ll have to find whatever free time I can manage to keep raising my comprehension during this period...’ he consoled himself in his mind.

Exploring the Sky Devouring Tomb took precedence over anything, as without that, the chances of him quickly ascending to the Qi Absorption Stage were very low.

"Great!" Gao Zhen exclaimed with visible joy in her eyes and said, "Later, I’ll also be sending one of my people to inform Patriarch Feng about our plans. Therefore, Young Master Chen can fully focus on making all the required preparations tomorrow."

A dependable smile formed on her face as she finished.

"That would be of great help, Madam Gao." Yi Chen’s face brightened when he heard this.

A few seconds ago, his request about entering the clan’s treasury, which he had made with Feng Haoran, had entered his mind. In a few days, it was likely that Feng Haoran would get the prerequisites completed and would call for him.

However, the thought of visiting him beforehand to inform him about his plans and the resulting delay because of it felt quite tiring.

’It’s always exhausting to interact with that two-faced man,’ Yi Chen thought while meeting Gao Zhen’s eyes.

"Don’t mind it," Gao Zhen smiled, seeing his reaction and continued while subtly raising her brows in realisation.

"Regarding our journey the day after tomorrow, Young Master Chen should report here at the reception a couple of hours after sunrise. I’ll be using that moment to familiarise you with your two other teammates,"

The neutral smile on Gao Zhen’s face began to resemble an amused one as she finished those words.

"Teammates..."

Yi Chen muttered while nodding when he heard this. A subtle frown also subsequently formed on his face.

While he was a little familiar with Gao Zhen, he had no idea about these two teammates with whom he would be working in the following days.

It was natural for a trace of concern to well up in his heart as various scenes of teammates betraying each other while finding great treasures started running through his mind.

Seeing the change in his expression, Gao Zhen somewhat understood his concerns and stated confidently with a subtle trace of playfulness in her tone.

"Don’t worry too much about them, Young Master Chen. I have a feeling that you’ll find the two of them quite pleasing to your eyes and also mesh well with them."

’Oh?’

Hearing this, Yi Chen’s curiosity was roused, and he was about to inquire more about them. However, before he could do that, Gao Zhen suddenly stood up from her seat.

"Then, Young Master Chen, I think we should call it a day now." Gao Zhen said, pointing towards the bundle of papers that were resting on her desk, "As you can see, there’s still some work I need to finish before night falls."

"Certainly." Yi Chen nodded and got up the next second and said while bowing, "Thank you for including me in your mission, Madam Gao."

"Young Master Chen is too kind. It’s me who’s thankful to see that you’ve agreed to my sudden request," Gao Zhen replied with a pleased smile.

To this, Yi Chen just politely smiled back and, with an exchange of another nod, left Gao Zhen’s room.

A staff member was waiting for him outside the door and soon guided him downstairs.

A familiar medicinal scent hit him as he descended from the fourth floor and reached the third floor. As a result, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

’Hmm...now that I’m here, I might as well buy those pills. Maybe I’ll find them useful inside the tomb.’

"Is there a matter, Young Master?" the staff inquired when he noticed that Yi Chen had stopped following him.

"Well, there are a few pills which I wanted to buy," Yi Chen said, pointing towards the floor’s entrance.

"Allow me to show Young Master around then," the staff member was quick on the uptake and cooperated with a customary smile.

Since Yi Chen had already visited this place months ago, he was somewhat familiar with the general pills and medicines which were sold here. However, the layout was something which he had forgotten.

"Uhm...Where are the shelves where the Qi Nourishing pills are placed?" Yi Chen asked the staff member who was walking next to him.

"Follow after me, Young Master," the staff member nodded in understanding and soon started walking in a particular direction.

’I’ve never tried those pills before, but they should be more efficient than directly absorbing the Spirit Stones, right?’ 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

He mused to himself before asking the staff member.

"Yes, Young Master, they are indeed much faster, and that’s why they are among our best sellers here," the staff member answered with an enthusiastic smile.

"I see," Yi Chen nodded while glancing at the series of glass bottles containing blue pills inside. They were all neatly arranged inside the wooden shelves in front of him.

’150 Low Grade Spirit stones...’ Yi Chen thought while glancing at the price tag pasted on the shelf.

Each bottle contained only five pills, so in that regard, Yi Chen found it extremely expensive.

’You little guys better be worth it...’ he thought to himself, and while feeling a sting in his heart, nodded towards the man.

"I’ll be taking four bottles then," he said, holding up four fingers.

"Certainly, sir!"

The man exclaimed energetically and carefully took out four pill bottles from the shelf.

A while later, with a sweep of his hand, Yi Chen placed the four bottles on the table inside his storage rings. A second later, he handed out the six hundred spirit stones he owed to the staff member.

"Thank you for your patronage, Young Master. Do tell me if there’s anything else you need to buy here," the man said with an expectant expression in his eyes.

’This...’

Yi Chen could only internally sigh and took out another stone from his storage ring, saying, "No, there’s nothing else. Thank you for your help."

After placing the spirit stone in the man’s hands, Yi Chen gave an appreciative smile and made his desire to leave known.

"Certainly, Young Master!" the staff member exclaimed with apparent jubilation in his tone and guided Yi Chen all the way to the first floor, even going a step further by helping him get a carriage.

"Young Master, please," the man said while gesturing him towards the carriage.

"Yes, thank you," Yi Chen nodded and boarded the carriage, finally feeling that the tip was worth it.

The next second, the coachman whipped the horse, and the carriage finally left in the direction of the Feng Clan.

Glancing at the changing scenery, Yi Chen thought to himself while exhaling a deep breath, ’Sky Devouring Tomb...’

A hint of worry welled up in his heart, but that was soon replaced with firmness.

"No matter what, I will clear it."

He muttered as his voice was masked by the clattering of the carriage’s wheels.
