I Was Reborn as the Female Antagonist's Servant-Chapter 33 – Tragedy
Big Brother was just stunned, before calling the Little Brothers around to help me.
Several people came up, including the twins who immediately came to me. My hand was shaking strongly. My body felt as if it was being moved by someone else, just like during my fight a few days ago.
My breathing was rushed. One of them lifted my arm, showing the back of my arm. A long gash ran across it. The sounds around me felt distant, as if I were underwater. They seemed to be shouting something about a medical kit. I didn’t know what was happening, but what was clear now was that they were wrapping my arm with a white cloth. I stared at the last place I remembered. There, there was already a wooden sword lying that I had used earlier.
I looked at my arm, already completely covered by a bandage. I stood up afterward. The people around me seemed to put on worried faces, except for one person—Risshu. He narrowed his eyes, as if thinking about something. I shifted my gaze forward, feeling a little weak. Big Brother Fukuro looked the most worried out of everyone.
"T-touji... I mean, My Little Brother Touji. A-are you alright...?"
I nodded. "Yes, Big Brother. I’m fine."
He stroked the back of his neck, looking down slightly. "I-I’m sorry. This was Big Brother’s fault. If I had realized your sword would break, I would have stopped."
I narrowed my eyes slightly, taking a long breath. "It’s okay, Big Brother. There’s nothing to regret. Everything has already happened."
I smiled slightly. "Besides, I’m just a little weak. Rest will heal me later."
He looked at me, smiling slightly. His hand touched my shoulder, patting me a few times. "Cyahaha! You can always cheer me up, My Little Brother!"
Ack! Ack! Ack!
He lowered his hand, backing away a few steps. Both of his hands were placed on his waist. His chest puffed up slightly, before he took a long breath.
"For some reason, my day becomes enjoyable with you, My Little Brother Touji," he muttered.
I could only smile at him. However, in the midst of it all, my body suddenly felt weak. My face was pale. I pressed my wound hard. The throbbing pain reached and attacked my brain. They looked at me, their foreheads furrowing slightly.
"Are you really alright, My Little Brother Touji?"
I nodded slowly. "Y-yes, Big Brother—Ugh!"
"Ah...! You better rest first. Your training is enough here."
I looked at him for a moment and gave a weak nod. "Ah. Y-yes..."
I turned around, going down the stairs. I went to the place where I changed clothes earlier, near the old barrel. I changed my clothes behind it. Slowly, because I was holding back the intense pain. After I put them on, I came out of there—towards the big door. In the middle of that, I saw that the door was still closed. I turned around, Big Brother immediately told the twins to open the door.
They opened it, from their faces they seemed to have difficulty. A heavy creak was heard, opening wide afterward. I walked, passing the doorway. Before going out, Risshun prayed that I would recover quickly. His younger brother only watched, narrowing his eyes slightly.
I came out of the doorway, in the middle of wanting to walk while holding back the pain—I saw someone who seemed to have just arrived. My eyes widened slightly while pressing my wound.
Head Butler? What is he doing?
He looked at me, heading towards my injured arm. Our gazes met afterward. He cleared his throat.
"...You, are summoned by the Duke, Touji."
My body tensed, bowing slightly afterward. I looked directly into his eyes. His gaze was still flat as usual, but this time I could make sure there was a feeling he was hiding.
I took a short breath, nodding afterward. I removed my hand from my injured arm.
"...Alright, Sir. I will go."
I moved my body which now felt heavy. I felt my wound was increasingly attacking my body. My left hand was a little weak, but that didn’t stop my feet from stepping.
We moved together, my position close to the window. The sun from the window seemed a little higher. I didn’t realize I had been inside for so long. The light that fell diagonally slightly touched my wound wrapped in a bandage. I felt warmth and pain at the same time. I clenched my teeth, biting my lower lip. I touched my sore hand again, walking a little slowly.
The Head Butler only looked at me from the corner of his eye. His gaze seemed to weaken. He looked back ahead afterward.
Our steps echoed through the wide corridor, muffled by the red carpet beneath us. Time passed, and before I knew it, the familiar door of the Duke’s office stood before me. It had seemed small from a distance, but now the brown door loomed right in front of me. I bowed, placing both hands on my knees. I asked for permission before entering the Duke’s room.
My breathing was ragged. My whole body was shaking violently, especially my left hand which received the impact. I took a long breath, straightening my body afterward.
I bit the tip of my lip. Come on you damn self... You can do it!
I looked at the Head Butler beside me, nodding slightly as a code. He stepped forward afterward, his hands holding the two long cold door handles. He started pushing the two door leaves. A long creak was heard in my ears. The light inside began to come out, lengthening in the gaps of the slowly opening door. A moment after it fully opened, a strong light fell diagonally across the room.
I looked at the man bathed in light, shining like a descending angel. As the light from the window behind him softened, his figure became clearer—long dark blue hair, a wrinkled old face. He stood with quiet authority, fingers intertwined as he bowed his head slightly.
His blue eyes stared sharply at me who was far in front of him. "...Come in, Kid Touji."
