I Was Reborn as the Female Antagonist's Servant-Chapter 32 – Sparring
Even if I’m going to lose, I won’t give up.
Right now, my sword and Big Brother Fukuro’s sword are clashing heavily. I’m slightly out of breath, attacking him from above. However, he’s blocking it easily—using one hand while smiling at me.
"Tch!"
I press down hard on the sword I’m holding, using the opportunity to shift my body’s axis, jumping over him. My body spins, landing perfectly I turn around just as his attack comes swiftly. Without a word, I dodge to the side. Big Brother’s sword slams into the concrete floor, shattering it on impact. I swallow hard as I stare at him, and he glares back at me.
I have to think of something.
I take a few steps back, creating distance between us. He tries to lift his two-bladed wooden sword, placing it on his back. He tilts his head quickly, creating the distinctive sound of nitrogen gas bubbles popping from within. He smiles at me—leading to a wide grin.
"What’s wrong, My Little Brother Touji?! Why are you always trying to run away?! FIGHT ME! HIT ME! MAKE THESE MUSCLES OF MINE HEAT UP!"
I look at him, narrowing my eyes slightly. That muscle maniac.
He lowers his sword quickly afterward. A strong wind hits the concrete floor, reflecting towards me. My hair sweeps back. My breathing feels heavy for a moment. He starts walking slowly, heading towards me while dragging his sword. I keep backing away, creating distance between us. He keeps moving. The sound of wood scraping against the floor is loud. Before I know it, I’ve reached the edge behind me, the boundary of the arena. I look down. The drop below is quite high. My gaze returns to him—he’s still moving slowly. I swallow hard. It feels heavy.slowly. I swallow hard, it feels heavy.
What should I do!
I look around, this situation reminds me of something.
Yes, that time.
When I was sparring with Risshu, Risshun’s younger brother. I stare at him in front. Big Brother Fukuro gets closer to me. He takes a step for a moment, then stops. His sword is raised, threatening directly at my chest.
He smiles broadly, this time realizing something. "...Don’t think I don’t know, My Little Brother Touji. If you want to use the edge of the arena against me, YOU BETTER THINK AGAIN!"
I’m startled. He’s aware, huh.
My eyes narrow. Damn... What should I do now?
I keep staring at him. He lowers his sword, dragging it back—getting closer to me. The sound of my heartbeat reaches my ears. My throat is dry. I take a slight step back, but I’m already at the edge of the arena. My hands clench tightly. The katana sword in my right hand trembles slightly.
Big brother looks at me like a lion that has already targeted its prey.
I have to do something. I have to at least get out of this situation!
I look around, there’s nothing I can use. If I dodge to the side, I’m afraid he’ll have already read that movement. My brain works harder. It doesn’t freeze—but I still can’t find a way out. I swallow. I straighten my body. And without further ado, I raise both my hands. My weapon falls, bouncing a few times on the floor before stopping.
"...I surrender, Big Brother."
He stops his steps. His expression changes instantly. His eyebrows furrow, one lifting afterward.
"...What?"
My gaze softens. It seems he doesn’t understand.
"...I mean a rematch, Big Brother. I’m already at the edge, it’s impossible for me to move again."
He nods slowly. His fingers are placed under his chin. "Ah... is that so."
He smiles broadly. "Okay, let’s just have a rematch."
I nod, agreeing with his opinion. He backs away again. I pick up my fallen sword, then move forward—creating the same distance as the first time before we fought. In the distance, Risshun wipes the sweat from his forehead while looking toward us. His eyes widen as he looks at me on the arena.
"Wow, look at that! They’re going to fight again!"
His younger brother turns his head as well. One by one, people begin to look over—until everyone is staring at me and Big Brother, ready to fight again. The atmosphere is calm. There isn’t a single shout. I wipe the sweat on my forehead, flicking it to the floor. Big brother raises his big sword again, to his shoulder.
I put my sword back into the gap of the leather belt. Big brother smiles broadly, I return it in the same way. Time seems to stop. My heartbeat races quickly. I get into a stance, wide. Big Brother is still the same, standing with a relaxed movement.
He tilts his head slightly upwards. The countdown is heard again, from him. Within the count of three, I strengthen my stance. Entering the number two, he swings his sword forward, lifting it back up. And before the final count sounds, my grip on the katana handle is strengthened even more.
I know that this seems impossible. But at least I have to try, to corner him. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
The tip of his lips displays a thin smile. "ONE!"
I strengthen my back leg, darting forward a moment later. My katana sword is pulled out. Big Brother only smiles, releasing the sword swing from his shoulder. Our swords clash against each other, the sound of a strong collision is heard throughout the room. The gazes of the audience only widen, seeing the incredible fight.
I keep pushing my sword. Slightly rejected, too heavy. I look to my right, pushing a little before rolling towards there. Big Brother’s big sword touches the ground strongly, piercing it. After I’ve finished rolling, Big brother has already pulled out his sword, placing it back on his shoulder.
He only smiles, while I become more and more pressured.
"Tch!"
I sheathe my sword back. Looking towards his back. A gap is seen from there. I look around, then towards him. He looks at me with a wide grinning face, walking towards me. I shift the support of my foot to the right, parallel with my left foot. My right foot is strengthened, launched quickly. Big Brother only sees my quick rotating movement, now already behind him.
Without warning, I immediately dart quickly. He’s still behind me. The katana sword is pulled from its sheath, trying to slash him. But before that attack arrives, he turns his body—blocking my sword directly with his sword. Our swords clash. Fine cracks appear along my blade. I don’t care—I keep pushing him. The cracks spread wider. Big Brother only looks at me with a smiling face, without blinking even once.
Before I had a chance to push him harder, my sword immediately broke. The attack from Big Brother is released, heading towards me. From the look in his eyes, he seems unable to hold back his attack. My mind goes blank. My vision dulls. The heart that was racing earlier begins to slow.
What is—
My consciousness starts to fade. But when I come back to myself—my body is already sideways, fresh blood flowing from my hand. The sword is buried in the ground, leaving a deep mark. I parried his attack.
