Chapter 30: Enter: Artilla

RUN!!!!

The 2 instantly broke away from the group, running left. Some people ran to the right, and others ran in their direction.

Are you insane? Staying at the stampede center was just suicide.

Their best bet was to rush towards the edge of the stampede. Even then, it could take forever to reach the edge.

"Buddy, get ready!" Shugo shouted while jumping high into the air.

It was amazing how one this chubby and big could be this flexible and nimble too.

The herd was just inches from impact.

Shugo reacted instantly, his training truly kicking in as he leaped into action.

With lightning-fast movements, he jabbed the heel of his boot on the top forehead space between the wild boar's ears.

"Buddy, in the end, it's a wild boar, isn't it?"

"You're right, Maybe there are some changes, but Biology for the most part, never lies."

Looking at a boar's head from above, the Dafengmen pressure point was their focal point of attack.

It's actually used by traditional medicine practitioners to ease a pig or boar's pain.

However, when done with battle intent, Bang!

The attacked boar fell unconscious, resulting in a chain reaction that made several others behind it roll, tumble, and even fly over from the abrupt situation.

'It's a boar in the end.'

Levon's grin broadened, followed behind Shugo.

"To the EDGE!"

"To the edge, BUDDY!"

.

.

Well, they seemed more relaxed than before.

Using their agility and teamwork, Levon and Shugo managed to outmaneuver the flying boars.

They leaped on the backs of boars, jumped, and flexed and moved leftwards.

Their clothes were drenched in sweat, and their visibility almost blinded by the salty drops that ran down their faces.

But not everything went according to plan.

Dammit.

Levon miscalculated when attempting to divert a flying boar's center of gravity to another direction.

In the end, it was him who was thrown off. Levon slipped, falling into the chaos.

"Got you, buddy!"

Shugo's thick hand came to the rescue, yanking Levon back up.

"Well, thanks."

"Fufufufufu, you saved some earlier too, right? So no need for thanks between us." Shugo laughed, jumping onto another boar's back.

Everything happened so fast and so incredulously.

However, with no time to waste, they hastened their movements towards the herd's edge.

~AHHHHH!!!!

Several people fell to their demise, closing their eyes and curling in proactive positions after falling.

However, there were others like Pickler, who fell but didn't get trampled.

She rolled side to side, grabbing its belly with all her might.

Soon, she took the hand Yimu, who in turn was held by Floriana

...What a wild stampede.

A while later, the herd had passed, but everyone was no longer together.

They were all in scattered locations, finding themselves in unknown paths.

Fortunately, their destination was the towering structure that shot through the vast lands.

No matter where they were, everyone could see the tower's location..

.

.

~Clogh, Clogh

Crawling out the water, Shugo and Levon squeezed the bottom edges of their tops and jackets.

Yup, they actually jumped off a cliff, falling straight into a dangerous stream below.

The currents were so dangerous that they almost found themselves drowning in them.

Some people also fell down the waters with them, but haven't swam out yet since then.

Somehow, they managed to keep their heads afloat, as the currents continued sweeping them down, far, far away.

"Dammit, I'm so pissed. Where the hell did that cliff come from? We said we would rush to the far left edge of the stampede. Who knew there would be a steep cliff edge awaiting us??" Shugo had no tears but wanted to cry.

Shugo's ranting was endless. "Look! The bags of snacks I had opened are all ruined now."

Levon's lips twitched helplessly when staring at Shugo's teary, big googly eyes.

Fortunately for him, his pant and jacket pockets had zippers, so he didn't need to worry about the remaining 12 strawberry lollipops falling out.

Taking off his shoes, he twisted it to the best of his abilities, squeezed the water out. As for Shugo who wore boots, that was easy.

'She's here too?'

Levon caught sight of a dainty figure seated on a rock not far from them.

It seems that something ripped her clothes.

The way she sat told him that there should be a long slit opening on either one of her legs from the back.

Sigh...

It might have gone all the way up to her butt.

Levon wasn't the sort to go out of his way to poke his nose into the businesses of others. But...

"Here, take it."

"_"

Artilla raised her beautiful eyes, blushing slightly after meeting Levon's eyes.

Everyone thinks she is some aloof beauty who is probably arrogant, but the truth is, he was really just shy.

Of course, it's not everyone she has a good impression of.

Typically, her head is only filled with food.

Updat𝓮d from frёewebnoѵēl.com.

This was actually the first time she gave Levon and Shugo a second look.

"Artilla..." Her voice was soft. None of them expected this.

They were momentarily taken aback, watching her tie the damp and dripping jacket around her waist.

"Levon..."

"Shugo."

Artilla nodded obediently.

"_" [The Duo]

How come she is different from what they expected?

Sure enough, it was never right to judge each other with just looks.

"Alright, since you have my jacket, you'll be coming with us then." Levon proclaimed.

All fun and games aside, now that she has his jacket on, she'll definitely have to go with him... After all, his Strawberry Lollipops were in his jacket pockets!

"Go with you?"

Artilla paused only for a split second before nodding again.

That's it.

Now, their duo has become a trio.

.

.

With that, the trio rushed forth towards the towering building.

From time to time, the wails of others resounded from afar.

No one flinched, knowing they were running out of time.

The journey was quite tedious.

First, they traversed across misty lands, with poisonous fog.

Thankfully, Shugo was able to correctly guess that eating a certain fruit would make them numb to the poisonous air around them.

Then, they passed through a place with whomping trees that slammed their tops side to side whenever they sensed motion.

A rabbit was slammed and its blood was immediately feasted on by the tree's happy roots.

What a mysterious place this way.

Another pleasant surprise Levon and Shugo had... was with Artilla.

After seeing her in action, they felt she was 3 times stronger than them in skills and efficiency.

It made them itch for a friendly match with her. But now was not the time.

"16 minutes... We've got 16 minutes, give or take!"
