I'll Raise My Future Omega Son-in-law-Chapter 166: THE ULTIMATE CHOICE
THE CHAEBOLS that Wonyoung and Yun Dujun had asked for help responded swiftly.
Hence, here we are now.
"Gunwoo Hyung!"
"Welcome to our house, Yuhyun-ah, Baekya."
Wonyoung smiled when his children were warmly welcomed by Song Gunwoo— the one and only son of SG Group’s Chairman Song Sihyuk.
The chaebol-slash-mafia.
And, yes, they were currently at the very posh mansion of the said chaebol.
"My son will take care of your kids, so let’s head to the reception room to talk," Song Sihyuk said while he was ushering them to the reception room that he mentioned. "My wife is waiting for us there."
’Wife?’
As far as Wonyoung knew, Song Sihyuk was married to a male Omega.
Must be an endearment, then.
Anyway, the reception room where Song Sihyuk led them looked like a greenhouse inside the mansion.
It was so pretty there.
Plus, Wonyoung immediately noticed the wide variety of fancy snacks on the long table.
But the most striking "thing" in the room was...
"Garam-ssi?" Wonyoung asked in disbelief. "The idol?"
"Former idol," Lim Garam, a once-famous idol, corrected Wonyoung with a smile. "It’s been a while since I retired."
Right?
Lim Garam’s retirement was so quiet despite his immense popularity during his active days as an idol.
No scandal.
No rumors.
Lim Garam just disappeared one day, and no one knew why.
Moreover...
"You’re an Omega?"
As far as Wonyoung knew, the idol Lim Garam was a Beta.
That was more than a decade ago, but he remembered because he used to be a fan.
How come he’s an Omega now? An Omega who gave birth to a child, at that.
But it was really not something he should have asked.
"Oh, I’m sorry," Wonyoung said, embarrassed. "I didn’t mean to pry..."
"It’s alright," Lim Garam said kindly. "Were you a fan of my group when we were still active, Wonyoung-ssi?"
Wonyoung nodded immediately. "But I was in middle school at the time, so I was too broke to buy your albums and attend your concerts. I could only stream your music, then. And I defended you from online trolls. My username in forums back then was ’LimGarams#1Boyfriend.’"
Maybe he shouldn’t have said the last part.
After all, both Song Sihyuk and Yun Dujun glared at Wonyoung.
"How dare you call yourself my wife’s boyfriend?"
"Wonyoung-ah, I thought you were my fan."
Both Wonyoung and Lim Garam rolled their eyes at their respective Alphas.
"Sihyuk Hyung, stop it," Lim Garam scolded his husband. "Wonyoung’s username was probably just a pun because our group’s name was ViBo, short for Victorious Boyfriends."
"That’s right," Wonyoung said while nodding, and then he looked at Yun Dujun in an annoyed manner. "Hyung, I didn’t even know you yet when I was in middle school. Plus, being an idol fan and an actor fan are two separate things."
Yun Dujun just sighed, still obviously upset for some reason.
Alphas and their ridiculous jealousy...
"Wonyoung-ssi, thank you for supporting my group when we were still active. I’ll answer your question earlier as a token of gratitude," Lim Garam said. "You’re right— I was born a Beta. And I would have remained that way had my husband not turn me into an Omega. But, oh, he had my consent, so don’t think too badly of Sihyuk Hyung."
I think it’s too late for that since I already see Song Sihyuk-ssi as a bad mafia...
"And I know I don’t have to say this, but please keep this a secret," Lim Garam said. "After all, the drugs that my husband used to turn me into a Beta are illegal drugs."
"They’re not illegal— they’re just not approved by the government," Song Sihyuk said, scoffing. "Anyway, those are the types of drugs that my pharma makes. And I just found out that Lee Heeju is one of our VIPs. He’s using a proxy, so I didn’t know until we ran a deep background check on him."
"You already ran an intensive background check on Lee Heeju?" Yun Dujun asked, half-amused and half-curious. "What else did you find out?"
"A lot," Song Sihyuk said. "Let’s all have a seat first."
***
THIS brat has really regressed completely.
That was on An Baekya’s mind while watching Yun Yuhyun play golf with Song Gunwoo.
Yes, the chabeol kid had a mini golf course in the vast backyard of their fancy mansion.
These chaebols are really old money people.
"What’s wrong, Baekya?" Song Gunwoo asked worriedly when he noticed that An Baekya was just holding a golf club and not doing anything. "Do you not like golf? Or is the club too heavy for you? That’s the same club that the twins use when they play here, though. But, then again, you’re quite small for your age..."
"Yeah, I’m not really into sports, Hyung," An Baekya said. And he was being sincere— he really didn’t like sports that much. "By the way, is the shaman noona not here, Hyung?"
Yes, his goal for coming there was to meet Mija— the young shaman.
"Mija Noona is really great, huh?"
"Hmm?"
"Mija Noona asked me to bring you to her room because she was so sure you’d look for her," Song Gunwoo explained. "Follow me, Baekya."
An Baekya smiled and nodded, relieved that the shaman was waiting for him. "Okay, Hyung."
This means Mija Noona knows why I’m looking for her, right?
***
"LEE HEEJU’S recent purchase in my pharma includes bottles of perfume that contain pheromones that work on Betas."
"There are pheromones that work on Betas?" Wonyoung asked, shocked. "But Betas can’t catch pheromones..."
"And that’s why the pheromones are included in a perfume mix with strong notes," Song Sihyuk explained. "Betas can’t catch pheromones, but they can smell strong perfume. Once a Beta is exposed to that for a certain period of time, then they’ll get affected by the pheromones. Whoever wears the perfume gets to control the Beta."
"I still can’t wrap my head around that, Sihyuk-ssi," Yun Dujun said, obviously looking confused. "What kind of pheromones work on Betas?"
"Mine."
"Excuse me?"
"I’m a Hyper-Dominant Alpha," Song Sihyuk reminded them. "My pheromones can create miracles. That’s exactly what turned my wife into an Omega."
Wonyoung almost frowned.
That’s not something you should be proud of, sir...
"Don’t worry. Hyung only uses his pheromones when we need them," Lim Garam explained. "Hyung isn’t using his pheromones to create illegal drugs. At least, not anymore. The ones in circulation right now are the last batch of it."
Wonyoung smiled and nodded. "Okay, I get it, Garam-ssi."
"We followed where the purchased order was delivered to, and that was how we found Lee Heeju. Well, it’s not yet verified," Song Sihyuk said. "But it’s actually something hard to verified because Lee Heeju seemed to have disappeared into a private island that doesn’t exist in the map."
Wonyoung blinked, confused. "There are islands like that?"
"Islands owned by chaebols," Yun Dujun explained. "Lee Heeju once mentioned that their family owns private islands that not even the government can regulate."
"That sounds scary."
"It really is," Lim Garam said, agreeing with Wonyoung’s sentiment. "When Sihyuk Hyung locked me up in his private island before, I thought I was going to rot there forever. The only way to leave the island is to use a helicopter. Thankfully, my in-laws saved me."
"Uhm, Garam-ssi, can we meet later and talk about your love life?" Wonyoung asked shyly. "I swear I’m not a nosy person. But your story sounds really interesting."
Song Sihyuk glared at Wonyoung. "How dare you ask my husband out on a date in front of me, you rascal?"
"Oh, shut up, Hyung," Lim Garam scolded Song Sihyuk, but the older Omega smiled when he met Wonyoung’s gaze. "Let’s call Park Sohee, too. He’s the one who really enjoys hearing about other people’s ’drama.’"
Wonyoung nodded. "I’d love that, Garam-ssi."
"Just call me ’hyung.’"
"Then you can just talk to me casually, Garam Hyung."
"I’ll do that, Wonyoung-ah."
"Wonyoung-ah, it took you more than five years before you started calling me ’hyung,’" Yun Dujun complained lightly. "You’re hurting my feelings."
"Hyung, not the time. We’re getting sidetracked," Wonyoung said to Yun Dujun, and then he looked at Song Sihyuk. "Sir, do you know where exactly Lee Heeju’s island is? Can you track it even if it isn’t on the map?"
"Sure," Song Sihyuk said. "My private island is around the area, after all."
Wow.
Chaebols are really scary.
"But, like I said to Yun Dujun before, I don’t do charity."
"Yes, we’re aware, sir," Wonyoung said, gulping hard. Song Sihyuk looked like the cunning type, after all. "Dujun Hyung said you don’t accept money from ’commoners’ like us, so how can we repay you for your help?"
"Our shaman needs something from you," Song Sihyuk said. "If you can give what Mija wants, then I’ll help you."
***
"HELLO, BAEKYA."
"It’s been a while, Mija Noona," An Baekya said while sitting on the high chair next to the bed. "Had I known you were sick, I wouldn’t have dropped by."
"No, it’s fine. I’m only sick because my divine power dropped a little after helping Gayoung Unnie wake up," Mija, who was sitting on the bed while leaning against the headboard, said. "I’ll recover after a little rest, so don’t worry about me. We can still talk."
"Noona, you know why I’m here, don’t you?"
"You need my help to find that child, right?"
An Baekya nodded. "I need to find where the new shaman is. He reached out to me, but the System keeps glitching. So, I don’t know where to look for him."
"And you need him to save your uncle."
"Yes, Noona."
"Baekya, I have to be honest with you— you can’t have it all."
"What do you mean by that, Noona?"
"You can’t fix this timeline with your original memories intact," Mija said in a serious tone. "You have to choose— save everyone you hold dear and lose your memories, or lose them and keep your original memories."
Oh.
"The ’System’ that’s helping you is the deity that the new shaman serves," Mija explained. "This deity only took the form of a System instead of letting the shaman hear its voice. The time is changing, and so the deities have also found a new way to reach out to the people who worship them."
Ah, that made sense.
I already have a feeling before, but now it’s confirmed— the System is a deity.
A god.
And that god would probably want to follow the new shaman’s will instead of mine.
"You have to decide now, Baekya," Mija said, her eyes glowing for a moment before they went back to normal. "This fight is ending soon."
An Baekya also knew that, but...
I really don’t want to regress completely.
He couldn’t give the shaman a proper answer yet, so he changed the topic.
"Noona, I’m grateful that you’re helping us. But I know you’re not doing this for free," An Baekya said carefully. "What do you want in return?"
"Shamans only need one thing, Baekya," Mija said casually. "We always move to gain more divine power."
Oh.
***
WOW, everything is delicious.
That was what Wonyoung thought while having lunch with his little family and the chaebols.
Lim Garam prepared a feast for them.
An Baekya and Yun Yuhyun were eating more than usual, so it was safe to assume that the kids also liked the food.
Our chef will cry if he sees the kids eating with so much gusto...
Anyway, their peaceful was interrupted when both Yun Dujun and Song Sihyuk’s phone rang at the same time.
Wonyoung already had an ominous feeling about it.
***
YUN DUJUN got a call from Lee Heeju, while Song Sihyuk got a call from Kim Heedo.
An Baekya could already tell that the vision that Mija had shared with him earlier had already started.
It also meant one thing.
I’m about to meet the younger shaman of this timeline.
And that made An Baekya nervous.
After all...
Hyung is probably upset with me because I failed to keep my promise to keep Uncle Bada safe in this timeline.
