I'm Crushing on Gorgeous Faces in Variety Shows!-Chapter 129: Her Name Isn’t Guan Yu
The Blue Team and the Yellow Team exchanged glances, then Guan Yu raised her hand to ask a question.
"If there’s going to be overtime, can we designate the person giving the hints?"
Director: "Who do you want to choose?"
Guan Yu immediately exchanged a look with Mu Qiu, then gave a meaningful stare over at the Red Team.
"Brother Huai."
Just as Shi Yuhuai was about to put a shrimp into his mouth, he paused and looked up at Guan Yu.
"Why?"
"Because I really want to see Brother Huai give hints."
Of course, that wasn’t the real reason; she was more interested in seeing him scratching his head with a frown.
Shi Yuhuai instinctively felt something was off. He put down his spoon and turned to ask the director, "Can the Red Team vote to decide whether they will have an overtime round?"
Guan Yu: "No, because you’re in second place."
In a two-team competition, they’re the second place.
Shi Yuhuai deflated and heavily leaned back in his chair.
Pouting angrily.
"Now the Yellow Team and the Blue Team will discuss whether to have an overtime round. The overtime round has no time limit; there’s only one comment. Whoever guesses it first wins."
Li Yang leaned over: "Isn’t this supposed to be an overtime match? It’s more like an extra question match, right?"
Director: "Outsiders, please don’t question too much."
Li Yang: "......"
Ultimately, the Yellow Team and the Blue Team agreed that there could be an extra question match.
It’s best to drag it out a bit so everyone can have a few more bites to eat before leaving.
With this solemn mission, Mu Qiu and Guan Yu battled once again as the answering team. Shi Yuhuai’s objections were invalid, forcing him to be the hint giver.
The teams took their seats, and the LED screen began to scroll with comments. After much discussion between the director and the staff, they finally chose the heavenly comment for this extra question match, which took a full two minutes.
[Let me emphasize once more, it’s Guan Yu, not Guan Yu from the Three Kingdoms! She doesn’t have a sworn brotherhood in Peach Garden!]
The comment was enlarged on the big screen. The director leaned back with a satisfied smile, feeling a sense of accomplishment for finally completing this mission.
Mu Qiu and Guan Yu couldn’t see the comment behind them; they only noticed the others looking on with interest, even stuffing food into their mouths while trying to hold back laughter so much that it resonated from their chests.
"Why is it so hard to hold back laughter? Is it another one of those that made things difficult for Brother Cheng before?" Guan Yu asked Shi Yuhuai.
Shi Yuhuai seemed to understand the brilliance of the comment, facing her inquiry with a dazzling smile.
Models on the runway rarely smile, especially male models. It’s not that Shi Yuhuai doesn’t like to smile, it’s just that his sense of humor differs slightly from others, so he might not find it funny when others do.
But apparently, everyone found this comment incredibly funny.
Shi Yuhuai laughed to himself, and his smile bewildered Guan Yu for a moment.
"...Oh my gosh, Brother Huai is laughing like that, things must be really crazy."
Mu Qiu also found it curious. After thinking for two seconds, she said, "For Brother Huai to laugh like that, it probably isn’t about himself. He didn’t look at anyone else, so it probably isn’t about Brother Cheng either? Could it be..."
She gave a sideways smile, completing her expression task, and teased Guan Yu: "Sister Guan Yu, could it be about you?"
Guan Yu immediately looked at the director: "Director, are you taking revenge on me?"
Director: "This isn’t revenge; it’s karma."
"..." Guan Yu retracted her gaze, pouting, sinking low in her seat, adopting a very downcast posture, "Brother Huai, you may begin. I’m ready for my shortcomings to be exposed."
Mu Qiu’s eyes darted around as she quickly began to recall all of Guan Yu’s "shortcomings."
Shi Yuhuai only said two words: "Name."
Then he looked up, thought for a moment, awkwardly made a bow gesture stiffly, and mimicked throwing something into the air.
Qi Feng, in the back, even added the sound effect of a bowl breaking.
The scene was quite bizarre.
Mu Qiu turned her head to Guan Yu: "Sister Guan Yu, do you bow to things before smashing them?"
"...I’m not that crazy." Even she couldn’t figure out what kind of scene this was representing.
"Could it be..."
"A scene from a comedy movie I was in?"
It’s quite normal for such crazy scenes to appear in films, and the more Guan Yu thought about it, the more she felt right about it and voiced her guess.
"Guan Yu bowing to a bowl before smashing it in the film is a bit crazy, isn’t it?"
Mu Qiu: "You’re very dedicated, sis. Winning or losing isn’t important; keeping an eye on mental health is what’s essential."
Guan Yu glanced at her and mischievously turned her head with a maniacal tongue-out wink.
Mu Qiu was so scared she leaned back, closing her eyes not to look at her.
"I was so scared my heart skipped a beat. Compensation, please."
"Your imagination is better than the dreams you have."
Mu Qiu opened her eyes again, emotionlessly completing her expression task with a sideways glance, and asked, "I just really want to know, did you really perform such a plot? I suspect you made it up."
Without even taking time to reflect, she just followed Shi Yuhuai’s act and made up a sentence, seriously suspecting she was making it up on the spot.
Guan Yu: "I’ve acted in so many dramas; occasionally forgetting a scene is normal. Do you even watch my shows?"
Are they entering the phase of mutual sibling pecking?
Mu Qiu maintained her gaze without answering, asking back instead: "Have you read my books?"
"I asked you first."
"You answer if you’ve read my books, and if you haven’t, then I’ll say I’ve watched your shows."
Guan Yu furrowed her brow: "?? Did I hear wrong?"
"Just say whether you’ve watched it or not."
"No, I’m already a mature woman; all I read is self-help books. Why would I read your fantasy literature?"
"Alright, I’ve watched your shows."
Guan Yu was surprised: "Really?"
Mu Qiu nodded: "My favorite was the one where you pursued love despite your disabilities and, in the end, lay beautifully on a hospital bed, passing away. It was truly touching."
"...I never acted in that plot!!!"
Mu Qiu gave her a helpless shrug.
"Then wait until you star in it, Sister Guan Yu."
Guan Yu was tricked by her, rolling her eyes in anger.
Then the penalty prop mercilessly sprayed her without mercy.
Director: "Even if there’s no time limit, please don’t let the guests obviously waste time."
Guan Yu: "Director, you remember, don’t you? I only have one more chance."
"Our staff will closely watch your expressions."
"..."
But that wasn’t her intention!
Guan Yu slouched back again, finally understanding the mixture of sadness and speechlessness Shi Yuhuai felt when he heavily leaned against the back of his chair earlier.
[Grand Combo, please debut!]
[I laughed so much my face cramped and stiffened. Yesterday’s botox was a waste.]
[My laughter was so loud that I got smacked by my mom.]
[This show is amazing, letting Cheng Zhirang and Shi Yuhuai act out scenes that would never happen. Let’s count how many times Brother Cheng said he’s handsome.]
[Worrying fans posted worrying comments, only for the main stars to see and struggle to respond, hhhhhhhc.]
[This comment was epic, hahaha, damn! I laugh every time I see it! How are Guan Yu’s fans just as funny as she is?!]
[Feather fans propping chin: Sis, we’re really just explaining to passersby, not trying to give you a hard time]
