Chapter 70 - 70: The Crown Beckons

Tournament Arc...

The winds shifted... high above the floating capital of the mythic Kingdom, glowing banners appeared in the sky... threads of golden script rippling through the clouds like silk. Across every corner of the realm... villages, cities, battlefields... those who could sense mythic energy paused, eyes wide, hearts stirred.

"The Mythic Crown Tournament... has returned."

In the palace, Null stood with his arms crossed, his gaze steady as the ancient projection lit up the throne hall. Behind him, Yuki, Ren, Haru, Himari, Kai, and Aiko stared at the message suspended in air.

"Did it say... Mythic Crown?" Haru muttered, cracking his knuckles. "Now that sounds like my kind of arc."

Kai slurped loudly from a bowl. "Tournament food's the best. If I'm not in the finals, I'm on the grill."

Aiko's aura flickered around her in excitement and worry. "But... this tournament hasn't been held since the Age of Titans. It's sacred. And cursed. Are we even ready?"

Null turned. "It is not about readiness. It's about destiny. The world is shifting faster than any of us expected. The tournament was reactivated by the Flame itself. And it's calling you all."

Ren narrowed his eyes, clutching the hilt of Jinrai. "A trial by combat... for a seat among the true protectors of the realms."

Yuki didn't speak for a long moment. Then: "I'll enter."

Everyone looked at him.

Yuki's voice held no hesitation. "If this is tied to the Prime Flame, to the Eidolon, or anything that could help us prepare for what's next... I want in."

---

Kingdom Training Grounds...

Later, under the evening sun, the team gathered on the windswept training fields. They were no longer trainees...they were warriors forged by void, fire, and fate.

Their eyes turned skyward as a massive golden seal formed above the kingdom. From it dropped mythic sigils... floating stone markers engraved with energy. Each one shot down and hovered in front of a chosen warrior.

One landed in Yuki's palm... cold and heavy, yet pulsing with energy.

Another flew to Ren, humming with storm-like wind.

Haru caught his with a grin. "Guess we're officially registered."

Himari's floated softly, almost gently, into her hand... yet she flinched, sensing an omen buried inside it.

Kai didn't even move as his sigil stopped inches from his face. "I better get a cooking round."

Aiko's looked like it was on fire from within. She stared at it, silently accepting the weight of whatever was coming.

---

From beyond the known world, mythic warriors began to stir. Some were noble. Some monstrous. And some... weren't from this world at all.

In a silent corner of the void, Velar opened his eyes.

"So the flame stirs again... heh. Let's see what they do with it this time."

Yuki vs. Nyra Begins...

The sky above the tournament ground dimmed... not by clouds, but by pressure.

Not spiritual energy. Not void. Something else.

Something ancient.

Yuki stood still, hands lowered, scythe resting against his shoulder. His eyes were calm, but his aura flickered like wildfire barely restrained. Across from him, Nyra walked into the arena... her silver hair tied back, the twin-bladed scythe dragging against the stone, letting out a metal shriek with each step.

The crowd had gone silent.

Nyra tilted her head. "You don't look ready."

Yuki smiled faintly. "Neither do you."

She smirked. "Then let's skip the pleasantries."

The wind exploded.

Nyra moved first... a blur of speed and silver, her scythe whipping in a spinning arc. Yuki ducked, countered, their weapons clashing with a sound like thunder cracking open the realm. Dust kicked up. Blades blurred.

Aiko's voice rang from the stands. "Yuki...!"

Ren leaned forward from the shadows. "This girl's different."

Haru whistled. "I like her style."

Nyra twisted midair, forming a glyph with one hand while slashing with the other. "Let's see how far that void of yours goes!"

Yuki's body rippled with dark mist. "Then don't blink."

Their scythes collided again... CRACK!

The entire stage split slightly at their feet.

The sky above the arena shimmered as Nyra's aura flared... .crimson petals spiraling in the wind like a raging blizzard. Her scythe, Bloodblossom, pulsed in sync with her heartbeat, each beat releasing a sharp echo through the space. Across from her, Yuki adjusted his stance, the obsidian curve of his own weapon humming with quiet void energy.

"She's not holding back..." Yuki whispered to himself.

Nyra smiled. "Let's make it worth the trouble of dragging you into this tournament, Mythos boy." freewēbnoveℓ.com

She blurred forward.

Yuki parried on instinct... sparks flew as scythe clashed with scythe, the sound of their collision like thunder cracking across the sky. The arena ground split in lines beneath them. Each blow was precise, powerful...Nyra dancing like a shadow, Yuki answering with calm ferocity.

Then Nyra spun low, sweeping her weapon toward his legs.

Yuki leapt, using a flash of void energy mid-air to spin and counter, slicing through her illusion... but it was already gone.

Behind you, Kairo's voice echoed in Yuki's mind.

Too late.

Nyra's heel struck his back, sending him crashing into one of the stone walls. Dust exploded into the air.

From the crowd, Aiko stood up, eyes wide. "Yuki!"

Ren narrowed his gaze. "That girl's dangerous. Even Yuki's having a hard time reading her movements."

Back in the arena, Yuki stood slowly, wiping blood from his lip.

"That hurt," he muttered. "Guess I needed that."

His aura exploded.

Purple-black energy wrapped around him like a second skin, distorting the air as his reality warping began to bleed into the physical world. His scythe split into mirrored duplicates in a spiral around him.

Nyra's eyes widened slightly. "So the Void finally shows its fangs."

"You wanted a real fight," Yuki said, his tone flat. "Here it is."

The ground beneath him shattered as he shot forward... this time he was the blur. Nyra barely blocked the first strike, then the second. The third broke through, grazing her cheek.

She licked the blood. "Now that's more like it."

Their scythes clashed again... and this time, the arena could barely contain the force.

Walls cracked. Spectators shielded themselves. Even Haru flinched, muttering, "They're going to break the sky at this rate..."

Then... a shockwave burst forth.

Both Yuki and Nyra stood in the center, scythes locked, faces inches apart.

Breathing heavy.

Nyra smirked. "Alright... Yuki. Let's go beyond limits."
