Immortal Venerable of the Beast Race-Chapter 30 - Qi Refinement Level 7_1
30: Qi Refinement Level 7_1
30: Qi Refinement Level 7_1
Shen Long took the golden Law Disk and examined it carefully.
He still had more than six hundred Spirit Stones on him.
He purchased one Earth Escape Charm, one Beast Soul Talisman, one Summon Lightning Talisman, and two Wind-Riding Talismans.
After paying with Spirit Stones, he still had three hundred and ten of them left.
After leaving the Treasure Pavilion, Shen Long went to the bustling marketplace and strolled around.
“I heard that the Immortal Ascension Assembly is about to begin.
The five major powers of Qin Country are preparing to recruit disciples.
It only happens once every twenty years, so it’s a rare opportunity.”
“Not everyone can meet the conditions for apprenticeship.
One must be under forty years old and at least at the eighth level of Qi Refinement, possess Triple Spirit Roots, and have a clean background.
These criteria alone will screen out a large number of people.”
“Yes!
I heard there’s also an assessment that’s very difficult to pass.
But, on the other hand, if you can be accepted by one of the five major powers of Qin Country, you won’t have to worry in your next life.
You’d be able to receive a monthly stipend and get a good cave dwelling.”
······
Some Qi Refining Cultivators were discussing spiritedly, chatting about the Immortal Ascension Assembly.
“The Immortal Ascension Assembly!
Acceptance of disciples!”
Shen Long’s face showed a look of longing.
Now, at twenty years old, with a cultivation at the sixth level of Qi Refinement and having cultivated four first-level spells to Great Perfection, he wondered if he would have a chance to join a sect for cultivation.
It’s nice to enjoy the cool under the shade of a big tree.
If he could join a major power, his prospects for development would be much better.
He inquired from other Qi Refining Cultivators about the Immortal Ascension Assembly.
It would be another five years before it convened, but some cultivators had already started heading to the destination, looking for connections.
When he returned to his residence, Shen Long sat cross-legged on the stone bed.
The Immortal Ascension Assembly would not convene for another five years, and he was only at the sixth level of Qi Refinement, not yet meeting the conditions for discipleship.
Every twenty years, the five major powers of Qin Country hold the Immortal Ascension Assembly and only recruit cultivators who are below forty years old and above the eighth level of Qi Refinement.
This meant Shen Long had only one chance.
Advancing to the eighth level of Qi Refinement in five years would not be very difficult; he had been at the sixth level for more than two years already.
Shen Long took out a Purple Apricot Fruit and bit into it.
It was sweet and refreshing.
Quickly, he finished an entire Purple Apricot Fruit.
A warm current of energy rose in his belly, and he promptly began cultivating to refine it.
Three months went by swiftly, and on this day, while Shen Long was sitting cross-legged on the stone bed cultivating, a large number of blue light spots were floating in the stone house, with mist filling the air.
The blue light spots seemed to be guided by some force and surged toward Shen Long’s mouth and nose.
Half a quarter of an hour later, all the blue light spots in the room had entered Shen Long’s body.
The blue halo around his body dissipated, and he opened his eyes, exhaling a long breath of turbid air.
“Qi Refinement seventh level!
Haha.”
Shen Long was overjoyed.
In a little over three years, he had advanced from Qi Refinement fifth level to Qi Refinement seventh level.
This cultivation speed was very fast, comparable to the elite members of the Li family, the Han family, and the Chen family.
If it hadn’t been for eating two Purple Apricot Fruits, Shen Long probably would have had to wait longer to reach the Qi Refinement seventh level.
This way, as long as he could reach the eighth level of Qi Refinement within five years, he would meet the conditions for discipleship.
Shen Long thought of something, took out the Spirit Control Tower, and infused it with mana.
A powerful suction pulled him into the Spirit Control Tower, where he stood in front of the Spirit Control Pool.
A series of cheerful hisses sounded as the Iron Tail Scorpion crawled out of the Spirit Control Pool.
It had grown much larger than before.
“You’ve advanced to the middle stage of the first order, not bad.”
Shen Long showed a pleased expression.
Every month, he gave one Spirit Feeding Pill to the Iron Tail Scorpion, and having fed it three, the Iron Tail Scorpion had advanced so quickly.
The Iron Tail Scorpion hissed happily; it was pleased as well.
Shen Long cooked three pots of Spirit Rice Meal and fed them to the Iron Tail Scorpion, then he left the Spirit Control Tower.
He picked up the Spirit Stones from the Soundproofing Array, opened the door, and walked out, heading up the mountain.
Upon arriving at the Martial Training Garden, there were no empty stone chambers available.
Shen Long stood at the entrance waiting.
After a good while, the door to one of the stone chambers opened, and Qin Qing and Qin Tianhe came out with smiles on their faces, appearing to have encountered some good fortune.
“Taoist Friend Shen, you’ve advanced to the Qi Refinement seventh level.”
Qin Qing said in surprise.
“I had a stroke of luck and made a breakthrough.
Taoist Friend Qin, hasn’t Taoist Friend Xu contacted you yet?”
Shen Long asked.
“Not yet, probably still healing!”
Qin Qing said.
After a brief chat, Qin Qing and Qin Tianhe took their leave, and Shen Long entered a secret chamber to practice magic.
He practiced the Wind Control Skill, chanting under his breath as a faint blue light began to glow beneath his feet.
With a flicker, he appeared in front of a stone wall.
Two hours later, Shen Long emerged from the secret chamber, his face slightly pale.
He left the Martial Training Garden and walked down the mountain, intending to visit the marketplace.
He hadn’t gone far when Qin Qing came up to him and said, “Taoist Friend Shen, Taoist Friend Xu has called us for a meeting.”
Shen Long nodded and accompanied Qin Qing to Qingzhu Courtyard, where Xu Lei and Sun Yang were sitting in the Stone Pavilion, discussing something.
“Taoist Friend Xu, haven’t we recruited any new team members?”
Shen Long asked curiously.
“There’s no need.
From now on, Fairy Ye won’t be joining in the hunting of Monster Beasts, and they have withdrawn.”
Xu Lei said in a regretful tone.
“What?
Withdrawn?
Why the sudden departure?”
Qin Qing asked with confusion.
“She joined us in hunting Monster Beasts mainly to resolve a bottleneck, and now that she has overcome it, naturally there’s no need to hunt with us.
Selling talismans for Spirit Stones is much easier.”
Xu Lei explained, knowing the formidable strength of Ye Yutang and Ye Yuqing, whom he greatly feared.
He was more than pleased with Ye Yutang’s voluntary withdrawal!
“If they’ve withdrawn, why not look for new teammates?
Relying on just the four of us to hunt Monster Beasts is too dangerous.”
Shen Long frowned as he spoke.
“Indeed!
Relying on just us four is indeed too dangerous.”
Qin Qing echoed.
“I’ve discovered a hidden Purple Apricot Fruit tree with over forty fruits, guarded by two first-stage, late-phase Golden Cloud Butterflies.
If we find others, we’ll have to share some fruits with them.
If just the four of us share, we can get more, so there’s no need for new teammates.”
Xu Lei explained.
“Next time we hunt Monster Beasts, we can invite new teammates.
Golden Cloud Butterflies are not hard to deal with, and the opportunity is rare.”
Sun Yang added.
Qin Qing hesitated for a moment but agreed.
If they could obtain more Purple Apricot Fruits, Qin Tianhe’s cultivation speed could be faster.
“Risk is proportional to reward, but it’s safer to invite more fellow Taoists.”
Shen Long suggested, feeling that it was too risky.
Xu Lei was rather greedy and had always been very cautious.
Finding a Purple Apricot Fruit tree deep in the Qianzhu Mountain Range seemed highly risky for just four people, which was not like Xu Lei’s usual cautious character.
“That’s true, but I haven’t fully recovered from my injuries, and I need to buy elixirs to heal.
I wouldn’t be taking this risk otherwise.”
Xu Lei explained.
“Taoist Friend Shen, after this success, we can rest for a long time, and having a bit more Spirit Stones will be beneficial.”
Sun Yang persuaded.
“Taoist Friend Shen, we’ve been cooperating for so many years; this time should be no exception.
Let’s go together!”
Qin Qing encouraged.
After hearing their words, Shen Long hesitated briefly before agreeing.
The four of them left the marketplace, and the Green Cloud Boat carried them towards the depths of Qianzhu Mountain Range.
