Chapter 354: Entering the Town.

The town defense wall stood over three meters high. Walking along the wall were guards, and the lowest among them were Intermediate Core Refining Warriors, while there were many Golden Core Experts in their ranks.

Beneath the town wall lay a massive gate with a long queue. Most of the people were clad in armor, while a few dressed in ordinary clothes carried baskets on their backs.

Among the line were Mo Jian and his group. Standing in front was Broken Blade, dressed in ordinary cloth.

Mo Jian kept his gaze fixed on the guards’ movements. He noticed that each person paid a certain amount each time they passed through.

"Huh! Thank the heavens, they aren’t checking any form of identification." That had been his greatest concern, but now he did not have to worry.

Just then, he heard Broken Blade’s voice in his ear.

"Young master, each entry requires one high-grade spirit stone."

High grade!

Mo Jian was not too surprised. He quickly passed the information along to the others. For this journey, he had planned everything.

And money was part of his planning.

To secure quick footing in an unknown land, money was indispensable.

With enough money, they could blend easily with the local forces without drawing attention.

When it was their turn, the guard stared at Broken Blade and furrowed his brow for a moment.

"Entry fee," he demanded in a cold voice.

Broken Blade merely displayed a cultivation of Peak Core Refining Realm, which was nothing to scoff at. For such an old man, the guard couldn’t help but look down on him.

Broken Blade did not care about the gaze and quickly paid the entry fee, then entered the town.

Behind him, Mo Jian, whose cultivation was Early Foundation Realm Stage-1, did not betray any outward air of superiority.

Yet he could sense the disdain on the guard’s face, though it had little to do with him.

Entering the town, Mo Jian could not help but breathe a sigh of relief. The greatest hurdle had been passed.

Now it was time for him to wait for the others.

A few moments later, the others walked into the town without causing any stir.

Although they were dressed shabbily, it was not uncommon in the town. It could even be said to be the norm.

While waiting for the others to arrive, he saw more commoners in poor robes and worn-out shoes. Some did not even have shoes. This alone showed the town’s real face.

Apart from this, Mo Jian could feel so many strong presences in the town. Mere standing near the town gate, he had seen many Peak Golden Core Experts who were not very old.

More importantly, most of the younger generation were in the Core Refining Realm.

As for Mortal Rank and Foundation Realm cultivators, they were all children.

This alone proved the vast difference between the two continents.

On their continent, children began cultivation after the age of twelve, and progress was not rapid. Foundation Realm cultivators tended to be older.

Walking through the street, Mo Jian’s eyes did not wander, but he remained aware of everything around him.

Quickly, he found an inn. The inn was a five-story building with a modest appearance.

To avoid drawing attention, they had agreed to spread out throughout the city and would all be lodged in different inns.

Entering the inn, Mo Jian found a plainly dressed middle-aged woman behind the counter.

"Kid, what do you need?" she asked with a smile before Mo Jian could speak.

She possessed a cultivation of Early Golden Core Realm stage-2.

"I need a room," Mo Jian said calmly.

"That will cost ten high-grade spirit stones. Do you have such money?" She replied, her gaze scrutinizing him from head to toe.

"I suggest you look for a smaller inn." Her tone carried no ill will.

"Thank you for your good intentions, but I still have a few high-grade spirit stones with me." He replied, taking out ten high-grade spirit stones from the hidden pocket of his robe.

Looking at the shiny ten stones, the woman was somewhat surprised. She had not expected a boy who looked like a beggar could produce such wealth.

"Very well." She nodded and accepted the spirit stones. "How long do you plan on staying?" she asked as she led him upstairs.

"I don’t know," Mo Jian replied as they reached the third floor.

"No problem. As long as you have enough money, this inn will be your home," she flashed him a bright smile. "Food will be delivered twice a day."

With that, she departed.

Mo Jian watched her go and shook his head. He opened the door and entered his room.

Inside, everything was cozy and neat. The room had a separate bathroom and toilet.

For him, that was enough.

Taking a seat on the queen-size bed, Mo Jian could finally relax his tense nerves.

He lay on the bed and slept.

The greatest hurdle was now over.

The following day, he woke up, took a cold bath, and changed into an ordinary robe while maintaining the disguise on his face.

Coming down to the lobby, he found the innkeeper attending to a customer and took a seat.

From the corner of her eye, the innkeeper had already detected Mo Jian’s arrival and could not help but be surprised by his change.

Although he had discarded his ragged clothes and put on a common robe, the changes were still stark.

Now, no one could associate him with the beggar yesterday.

After attending to the customer, she walked toward him. "Good morning. Should I serve your breakfast?"

Her gaze locked onto Mo Jian’s face.

Mo Jian nodded without looking up to meet her eyes.

"Alright, I’ll have the servant bring it right away." She replied, turning away when she saw his cold attitude.

After finishing the meal, Mo Jian left the inn and wandered through the street. Now, no one treated him as if he were a plague.

From the corner of the street, he spotted an ordinary young man lurking at the corner, and they nodded at each other.

Instantly, the young man began to move with long strides while Mo Jian followed closely behind.

A few minutes later, they arrived at a tavern.

The tavern buzzed with warriors drinking, shouting, and laughing. The young man led him to the second floor and opened the door before leaving.

Mo Jian shot a curt glance at the young man before stepping into the room. Inside, the five seniors were already waiting for him.
