In Another World, Everyone Want to Kill Me!-Chapter 60: Trapped with Danger
There were rumors that Yue Mingxuan had fallen for Rong Tieshan at first sight and that he had pursued him endlessly, refusing to give up.
Perhaps those stories weren’t baseless after all.
Shang Qinghua suddenly felt an urge to confirm it for himself.
"I’ve heard you’ve been chasing after Rong Tieshan for long time," Shang Qinghua said casually, his tone calm and detached, as though he were talking about the weather. "Do you like him?"
Yue Mingxuan froze for a moment, feeling an unexpected rush of panic in his chest. He didn’t even understand why he felt uneasy at such a question.
"My heart," he said slowly after a long silence, "has always belonged to me. I never gave it to anyone."
Shang Qinghua felt an odd wave of satisfaction at that answer.
He tried to keep his face expressionless, but the slight curl of his lips betrayed the good mood that crept into him because of what Yue Mingxuan said.
Yue Mingxuan tilted his head and teased lightly, "Then what about you? Who have you given your heart to? Whoever gets your affection must be ready to be torn apart by every woman and men in the four kingdoms."
Shang Qinghua’s narrow eyes swept over his face, but he didn’t respond.
Yue Mingxuan couldn’t help feeling puzzled.
In his mind, Shang Qinghua was everything a man could be.
He’s handsome and wealthy.
He’s the prince of Xieshang Kingdom whose surrounded by loyal warriors and admired by countless followers.
He was like the hero in some perfect romantic tale, the definition of a man who had everything.
How could someone like that not have someone they loved?
As Yue Mingxuan stared blankly at the dancing flames in front of him, his thoughts drifted away.
For a moment, the cave was so silent that even the sound of a falling needle could be heard.
Shang Qinghua looked at him, then quietly reached over to add two more pieces of wood to the fire.
The flames rose higher, flickering gently between them.
After some time, the sound of rain outside began to fade, growing softer and softer.
The fire still burned steadily, casting warm light across their faces.
Their clothes had already dried under the heat.
Then suddenly, Yue Mingxuan felt a faint tremor beneath his feet.
His heart skipped a beat.
An earthquake?
Sheer disbelief crossed his face.
Everyone else who traveled through time seemed to get lucky they gained power, riches, or love.
But him? He’d been unlucky from the very beginning.
Heaven really did play favorites.
Shang Qinghua also noticed the movement.
He stood up quickly, taking two steps forward and instinctively placed himself between Yue Mingxuan and the cave entrance.
Yue Mingxuan looked at his back and let out a quiet, self-mocking sigh. Forget it. If it’s fate, it’s fate. If this is really where I’m meant to die, at least I’ll die beside the most handsome man in the world. That’s not the worst way to go.
A thunderous rumble echoed outside the cave, loud and heavy like the charge of a thousand warhorses.
Yue Mingxuan covered his ears and took a few steps back, while Shang Qinghua, calm as ever, sat down again without flinching.
Seeing his composure, Yue Mingxuan couldn’t help but ask, "Prince Shang, aren’t you afraid?"
"It’s only a landslide," Shang Qinghua replied in a cool, unbothered tone.
Hearing Shang Qinghua’s calm words, Yue Mingxuan’s face immediately turned grim.
In ancient times, a mountain collapse usually meant a full-blown mudslide.
If nothing went right, the entrance of the cave would almost certainly be blocked.
With no food inside, by the time anyone found them and dug them out, both of them would likely have starved almost to death.
Thinking of this, Yue Mingxuan shivered involuntarily.
"So we’re trapped here?" he asked, a flicker of hope in his voice. "Do you have any way out?"
Shang Qinghua leaned against the stone wall and said only one word: "Wait."
The heavy rain had washed away his traces going up the mountain.
Mo Yi and the others knew he had entered the back mountain, but they couldn’t search openly.
In about two days, they should be able to find this place.
"What... only wait?" Yue Mingxuan’s face fell completely.
Humans can survive only about seven days without water.
If no one came in seven days, wouldn’t they just die here?
He grabbed the clothes drying on the rock and wrapped them around himself.
Since they had to endure a long stay in this miserable cave, at least they had to stay warm.
Any energy saved was precious.
Watching Yue Mingxuan’s careful movements, Shang Qinghua found it amusing.
Earlier, he had noticed a subtle flow of air in the cave, which meant there was more than one exit.
Let him worry a little longer, he thought.
As he reflected on this, Shang Qinghua suddenly realized that, without noticing, he had begun to feel a certain closeness toward Yue Mingxuan.
At that moment, Yue Mingxuan’s excited shout interrupted his thoughts. "Prince Shang! Come quickly! This cave might have another exit!"
Shang Qinghua’s lips curved slightly.
This cunning men was indeed no fool he had already discovered the secret of the cave.
He tried to stand up, but a chill ran through his body and his strength was draining away bit by bit.
This was bad.
Shang Qinghua realized his body was no longer obeying him, a sign the cold poison was flaring up.
This attack was worse than previous ones because he had overused his inner energy and had gotten soaked in the rain. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Prince Shang! What’s wrong with you?" Yue Mingxuan hurried over and immediately noticed something was wrong.
Shang Qinghua’s face had turned pale with blue veins showing, his body shivering slightly and each exhaled breath formed white mist.
The cold poison was attacking.
Seeing this, Yue Mingxuan knew exactly what was happening, but there was little he could do.
He quickly took a Emberveil Herb from his medicine bag, squeezed out some juice, and fed it to Shang Qinghua.
