Chapter 222: Unprecedented Take Over (7)

The first to react was the President from the Three Nations.

"Who are you? Why are you interrupting us?" he pointed at Rise and shouted, "Where are those dumbasses? Why can someone enter this place uninvited?"

They were already in a life and death crisis and had no time to quibble with some lunatic. Judging by Rise’s grin, he was there to block them.

Everyone instantly assumed that he was on the side of whoever was trying to refine their world. None of them had an impression of Rise before, except for those parts of his camp.

Zarilan and the others’ expressions sank. Somehow, they could already guess what was happening and Rise’s involvement in all of this.

This suspicion instantly came true; their hearts dropped.

"Why did you all stop?" Rise glanced at Zarilan and the group. The grin on his face faded. "No one shall leave this place before everything is settled. You know what to do."

Zarilan and the others instantly became conflicted. Duty and their heart as a native wanted them to help their world and intercept those who were conquering it, and yet the contract inside their soul was overpowering these emotions.

Reason and orders suddenly clashed at this moment.

Ultimately, Rise’s order won.

"What’s going on?" The side of the Three Nations was confused. They could not comprehend what the newcomer was saying. The leaders realized it sooner. Their eyes widened in disbelief.

"Zarilan... all of you are colluding with nobles?" This was laughable coming from the people who were also colluding with nobles.

This was their plan all along. The president gnashed his teeth.

Zarilan’s group became furious at the accusation, and yet they could not refute it either. The evidence was now clear. No beings aside from nobles had the ability to refine a world.

Sania let out a heavy sigh, his shoulder drooped, and he closed his eyes firmly.

I apologize, ancestors. It seems... we failed.

There was no hope in the end.

Zarilan and the others also became deheartened, and tears sprang in their eyes.

I’m guilty. I betrayed my world.

Everyone was thinking of this, but in the end, they had no choice but to fight and block the Three Nations from intercepting the process of refining their world.

This was the master’s order.

"Fuck you all traitors!"

"All of you die! Let’s all die here!"

The two sides began in a more intense battle.

"AHHHH!" A clan leader shouted, and his whole body expanded, his eyes bloodshot, remorse radiating to his whole being. The pain and guilt gnawed at his insides; he blocked every attack and never defended himself.

It was as though, it was the only way he could atone for his sins.

The battle was becoming more intense. One wanted to leave, and the other was blocking the others from leaving. Casualties had also begun to increase at an alarming rate.

Where was Rise in all of this? He was watching from the side. His head was leaning on the wall, and his arms were crossed over his chest.

He was well aware of what the clan leaders were feeling. He expected it to an extent. His eyes followed Zarilan and then the others.

It was obvious that what they were doing was against their hearts. They must have felt so betrayed. Rise had never told them the real plan.

Why would he? This was a cruel takeover from the tart.

"That one... kill him."

On the side of the Three Nations, someone figured out that Rise was partly responsible for this. When he ordered the clan leaders, the others had no choice but to obey, even if this was against their will and beliefs.

As the clock struck ten minutes after Kamille initiated the process, the whole world seemed to be howling and was crying for help.

The whole crowd became crazier.

"Please..." A clan leader sobbed, "Please... master... Don’t do this." This was followed by others, the forces from the Three Nations were also becoming crazier in their attacks, and the clan side simply did not have the heart to defend at all.

Zarilan bit his lips. He glanced where Rise was standing, his gaze pleading.

Sania was the same. They were the only ones without wounds, but at this rate, they would collapse soon from agony before the Three Nations side actually injured them.

This was happening all over the world, they were agitated, and the sorrow had spread. They pleaded to an unknown entity; however, it merely continued disregarding their feelings.

When Zarilan met those clear but indifferent pupils, he knew that it was over. Zarilan let out a bitter chuckle.

This was the end, after all.

"Son... I failed you." He whispered to Zenos, not far from him.

Zenos glared at him, also crying, and he shook his head.

"No, father. It’s not your fault."

Amidst all of this, only two clans were still fighting seriously.

The Silverfeather Clan and, surprisingly, the Serpent Clan.

One was because of Halwyn, they had already dedicated their clan to Rise, and thus, the effect of the phenomenon was not that harsh to them.

The Serpent Clan, however, was different. They seemed to lean towards the greater change. Nagaru was an eccentric leader to begin with. Somehow, after the incident last time and Zarilan’s words, he began to truly hope for change.

What was happening seemed to have cemented Rise and Kamille’s image on him.

Rise was not too surprised with Halwyn, but the cunning snake guy was different. What made him so confident? Either way, it was good.

His goal was always clear. Rise would not let guilt and pity sway his decisions.

His body flashed and appeared behind the President of the Three Nations. The one targeting him from behind was startled before his body was pressed to the ground; he could not even scream.

It only lasted a split second difference, and the man was pulverized to the ground, and the president’s head of the Central city rolled to the ground.

Rise’s cold voice echoed to the crowd that suddenly became quiet.

"What are you hesitating about? Kill them all."
