Infinite Dragon Beast: Taming Ice Dragons with SSS Ranked Talent-Chapter 59: Black Shadow Dragon Egg
Aiden jumped all the way back to the base of the hall. As he tried to dodge every attack of the destructive breath that spewed from the dragon’s mouth, Noah tried to take cover by staying out of their way.
"Aiden’s crazy! My friend was killed by the dragon, what makes him think he can defeat the Dragon Undead?" Noah complained, hiding behind the black pillars of the throne hall.
He looked forward and watched as Aiden continued to dodge the dragon’s black breath attacks. Every time he attacked, his flame attacks were easily fended off by it.
"Damn it!" said Aiden, seeing the Dragon Undead roaring back at him.
"What are you going to do, Aiden?" asked Noah, shouting from the other end of the room.
Aiden turned his head, then looked back at the Dragon Undead. From its strength and agility, Aiden guessed it was an SS-level. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Fighting the minotaur monster had taken up a lot of his magic energy. There was a possibility that if he forced himself to fight it, then his energy would be drained even if his life was not threatened.
’The only way to defeat it is to go up to the top of the pyramid and take that thing,’ Aiden explained.
[Magic Element: Long Fire Ball!]
Aiden summoned a magic rune before his right hand, then released the magic energy forward to hit the Dragon Undead right in the face.
He had a few seconds to climb the pyramid stairs. Aiden had to move quickly while taking advantage of the Dragon Undead’s distracted vision.
Noah looked up, watching as his newfound friend seemed to be acting aggressively. He still insisted on climbing to the top of the pyramid and taking the dragon-protected item.
"What exactly does he want to take? Does he realize he’s risking his life?" Noah asked.
Aiden continued to run up the hundreds of steps in the pyramid dungeon. As the smoke cleared from the Dragon Undead’s face, it roared again and tried to find Aiden.
ROAR!
It found him. The dragon clearly saw that Aiden was climbing the stairs near the top of the pyramid. As a result, the Dragon Undead took to the skies again to go and prevent Aiden.
[Magic Element: Flaming Spear!]
From Aiden’s hand, he condensed fire magic energy and turned it into the spear form.
Aiden swung his spear sideways, sending a red sickle slash attack forward to stop the Dragon Undead from pursuing him.
Several times the Dragon Undead dodged the fire sickle attacks. However, Aiden did not give up.
He strengthened his grip and swung his spear fast, able to create multiple fire sickle attacks that the dragon could not easily dodge.
BLAST!
An explosion occurred from the effects of the fire sickle strikes hitting the Undead Dragon. Aiden nodded happily, deactivating his fire spear and stepping quickly back up the stairs.
As time passed, Aiden got closer to the top of the dungeon pyramid. As Aiden watched, he saw a red egg floating safely in a protective bubble.
"An egg? What is it exactly?" asked Aiden.
ROAR!
Aiden turned his head, looking at the Dragon Undead who was still roaring loudly without stopping. The sight of it annoyed Aiden.
"Damn it! Can’t it really be killed or destroyed?" Aiden asked.
Again, the Dragon Undead flew high toward Aiden. From the dragon’s mouth, it began to spout its black breath of destruction at Aiden, causing Aiden to be forced to take cover while climbing the pyramid.
Aiden stretched his hand forward, summoning a shield of fire magic that could withstand the force of the black breath. However, he realized the risk.
The wall of fire magic shield Aiden had summoned was peeling off and beginning to crumble, turning into ash.
’That’s bad! Its power can turn anything into ashes,’ Aiden said.
[Magic Element: Chain of Blaze]
Aiden brought up a fire magic rune in his other hand, then placed the rune on the ground. Instantly a magic circle appeared around the Undead Dragon, shackling the serpent dragon from moving further.
Once shackled, the dragon could fly no further, its mouth closed as it was bound by Aiden’s fiery chain shackles.
Aiden smiled. He dispelled the wall of fire magic that had previously been summoned. After realizing that the Dragon Undead was powerless, Aiden went up the stairs again to quickly arrive at the top of the pyramid.
Noah was still at the bottom, he still saw clearly that Aiden had made it to the top of the pyramid.
"He really can beat those Dragon Undead, that’s an amazing feat of strength," Noah replied.
Aiden stopped at the top of the pyramid and looked closely at the egg. He tried to reach out his hand, but a magical energy field blocked his hand from touching it.
"Is it possible I can’t touch it?" asked Aiden, confused.
From the red egg’s appearance, it looked exactly like the ice egg he had found in the Fog Hill.
It was possible that the egg was actually a beast’s egg, but Aiden had no idea what kind of beast was inside of it.
’Could it be a beast from the Dragon Undead? Considering it’s the one guarding this place,’ Aiden said.
While Aiden was watching the Dragon Undead that was still shackled in chains of fire, a system appeared in front of the egg’s protective bubble.
The bubble detected the pattern of the beast tamer in his right hand, resonating until it made a circular slit open in the bubble.
"What? It detected this pattern?" asked Aiden, raising his right hand.
"Wait!" said a man.
The Dragon Undead smashed the iron chains into ash, flew to the top of the pyramid and met up with Aiden.
Aiden felt himself in danger. He activated his flaming spear magic and tried to protect himself.
Around the Dragon Undead, a huge, soaring black typhoon appeared. Aiden kept stepping back, away from the mysterious typhoon.
In an instant, the black typhoon disappeared and was replaced by a man with long white hair, his body looking vaguely like it showed only his bones. He stared powerfully at Aiden.
"For hundreds of years, I have guarded this place from anyone trying to take this egg," the man replied, stepping closer to the protective bubble without looking at Aiden.
"This egg here is my daughter. I managed to take her away from the land of legends and myths so that she could live peacefully here," the man replied, taking the egg and cradling it like a baby.
"Thousands of humans came to take it, and though they got past me, they were repelled by my daughter," he replied.
"But you are different. You got past me, you also earned my daughter’s trust," the man said, turning to look at Aiden.
He looked at the beast tamer pattern on Aiden’s right hand, then nodded to say that it all made sense.
"You’re a beast tamer? What’s your beast?" the man asked.
"A dragon," Aiden explained, and the man laughed out loud at that.
"You tamed a dragon? Now I understand everything," the man replied.
He stepped closer to Aiden. Aiden was still wary, keeping his fire spear at the ready. Instead of acting aggressively, the man handed his daughter to Aiden.
"I don’t have much time. When she hatches, go to the Horald Kingdom and meet the Black Shadow Dragon clan," the man explained.
The man took the pendant from his magic pouch and handed the magic pouch to Aiden. Most importantly, Aiden was to put the pendant around his daughter’s neck when she grew up.
"Take all the items in the magic pouch for my daughter’s growth. I’m sure, you can do it," the man explained.
Slowly, his magic energy faded from the bottom up. Aiden promised him before disappearing, that he would raise his daughter well.
"Thank you, kid."
